Actually the idea I had was something like:
"James Michner meets Interview with The Vampire meets Braveheart-with werewolves and Catholics, too!"
It would open with this great medival set piece battle between Vampires and Werewolves. It'd also be a commentary on society, as the elegant vampires would enslave the more primative and primal werewolves.
The climatic action sequence was to take place on, you guessed it, New Year's Eve, 1999, on the top of the Empire State Building (this was all pre-9-11).
Still might make a good novel, though..
