Hell yes. Don't mind buying this again.

Man, I loved that game when it first came out.  Tried it again four or five years ago.

A refresh of mechanics/look would be greatly appreciated.

**Even all these years later the game remains high on the "worst video game cover art of all time" list.

Im in the market for a new tablet and the chance to play all the classic crpg's (BG 1&2, Icewind Dale, KOTOR) on it is one of the big reasons for the purchase. This just made that an even bigger priority. After crapping out on Tides Of Numenera, the idea of being able to play (and finally finish) Planescape - and being able to decide what changes the nature of a man in bed or on the crapper - makes me rather gleeful.

Icewind Dale ... now that's a name I have not heard in a long time.

Last time I tried to play Planescape a cut scene failed to trigger and the NPCs I needed to talk to didn't load, so I was effectively stuck. Before that I had an issue with corrupted saves. So a remaster that, you know, runs is welcome by me. Also, this game deserves to be playable on modern operating systems without a bunch of headaches.

Nvidia Titan Xp announced/released. Now on sale for only $1200 US Dollar$
Quote:
Official Specs:

30 SM's
3840 Cuda Cores
11.4 Gb data rate
12 GB Vram
547.7 GB Memory Bandwidth
250w tdp
16mn Node

=

12 flippity flops of fucking POWAH.

Kneel, kneel before Zod.

Lol, I know an ass at work who got impatient when the 1080 Ti's were nearly ready to launch a month ago, "omg too far away bro (and the aib stuff 2 months away)", so he bought the $1200 Titan X in haste. Now, outside of the return period, a new king has arrived.

These incremental releases from Nvidia are too close to each other. The 1080 Ti Founders edition hit on March 10th. Add in board releases hit last Friday. Today with Titan Xp arrived with zero fanfare. Why not, I bet Nvidia reveals Volta tomorrow at 3am when we're all asleep. Jen-Hsun Huang likes to blow his load early.

And for the Peasants:

Digital Foundry unveiled the Next Box Scorpio specs.

CPU is at 2.3Ghz (vs 1.75 on xbone)
GPU has 40 Comp Units running at 1172Mhz (vs 12 Comp units running at 853Mhz on xbone)
Scorpio has 12GB ram (vs 8Gb on xbone)
326GB memory bandwidth (vs 219GBs on Xbone S)

It would appear that Scorpio was deliberately poised to represent a 20-50% improvement in every facet as compared to the PS4 Pro.  The addition of the UHD 4k player, if they can keep this thing in the 450-600 range, makes it an attractive purchase.

I have to wonder with the disparity between the base XBONE and Scorpio how committed Microsoft will be to requiring uniform releases if Scorpio sells well.  I mean, that is a serious gulf in specs.

I don't like this new trend.  Is this something the numbers people came up with at the beginning of this generation?  "How can we keep the console dough coming in, you ask?  Well, how about instead of waiting five years in between each generation, we just release a newer, slightly more improved version every year or two?  Yeah, that's the ticket!"

Gaming is getting annoying.

Yeah, but if you're not a graphics nutjob, you can just ignore it for now.
If a game performs well and looks great for its chosen visual style, I don't really give a crap about fps or higher capacity rendering.

Xbox One release date: November 2013

Scorpio Release date: Winter 2017

Ps4 release date: November 2013

Ps4Pro Release date: November 2016.

Four years and three years respectively, is a healthy length of time for a new console iteration.  Is it not?  I think a big reason for the "updates" is that the Xbox One and PS4, even at the times of their releases, were fucking pieces of shit.  Underpowered, too expensive, missing key features, etc.

I am hoping that this trend continues, because if there is one thing that absolutely needs to end it's the lack of backwards compatibility from one console generation to another.  If every 3-4 years they do a refresh, but older games are still compatible, that's a good trend in my book.

New Microsoft hardware would be cool and all but where are their games?

Halo shows MS has a penchant for necrophelia.
Gears is still hiding behind cover.
Forza and Forza Horizon are the only thing they have going for them.

Where's the Scalebounds (cancelled)? Where's the Sunset Overdrive sequel. Or how about reaching out for a Lost Odyssey 2 successor. Diversify some new IP to be excited about and not rely on Ubisoft to churn out the same tower syncing trash over and over again.

PS4 has had a handful of GOTY candidates in the past couple of months one after the other. On Xbox their big new release of late, fucking Lego GTA, a four year old Wii U game and some indies you could snag for $5 on humble or steam.

hotzgraphhix aren't everything; playing 720p zelda was fucking great. All this hardware means nothing if there isn't anything worthwhile to take advantage of it. That's what MS will need to prove at this years E3.

So does this look like $60 well spent for a remastered six year old game?

Lol.

Shit I didn't even like Bulletstorm that much the first time.

Well, some of the textures and character models look better, but they also managed to completely fuck up the water effects and give a horrible plastic glow to everything.

They should ship Alex west so he can out bore Brad and see who truly is the blackhole fun. $20 for the Disney Afternoon collection...or if you're a fucking baller like me you loaded those roms onto the NES Classic with elite Russian hakz.

Telltale Guardian's of the Galaxy hit XB Marketplace. Voodoo Vince made an appearance on XB Market and Steam last night. Also some weird fmv game hit xbox marketplace last night, "Late Shift". Wonderboy is an ip I'm not exactly pumped to revisit but that got an update today too.

Totalbiscuit announced he's undergoing more chemo. Which sucks, I thought he had it beat.

Whoa! A COD game set in World War 2? What a neat concept! Why did they never think of that before? /s

Seriously though, I'm kind of all for it. The first two COD's were some of the best WW2 games ever and getting that same experience with modern tech advancements would be pretty fucking sweet.

Do non-gameplay trailers for anything other than story-driven RPGs do anything but annoy people in this day and age?

I love how the internet went nuts over the Battlefront II trailer. Oh man, it looks so much better than the first one - I can't wait!

There's not a single moment of fucking game play in the trailer.

New Nintendo 2DS coming July 28th for $150. Available for pre-order at Gamestop, because fuck Gamestop.

Such a weird regression on the lineup. Going from the 3DS backwards to a Nintendo DS-style system with the useless c-stick.
Nintendo has always been weird with the 3DS. I don't know why they don't just fully invest in the 3D version, since you can just turn the 3D off.

But at least the 2D users finally get a nice clamshell design instead of a big plastic rectangle that looks like a Fisher Price toy.

The original 2DS was basically Nintendo's passive-aggressive fuck-you to anybody who thought the 3D on the 3DS was stupid. "Don't like it? Hah! You can either buy it anyway, or buy a version without it that's totally impossible to fit in your pocket, peasants!"
I believe the economic reasoning behind the 2ds was that a single large screen (with plastic strip in the middle dividing it) was cheaper to make than 2 clamshell screens.

I remember seeing some crazy deals on it the last 2 holiday seasons, under 80 i think.

Yes. Buried within some of the sub pages is the features list. Stylus included.

They manage to get the series back up on it's feet and you go with that character design for Fury? Like some weird cross between a troll doll or Syndrome from Incredibles. Meh.

That's been her design since the first game.

Remember that this is all based on Joe Madureira designs.

Nintendo's Eshop just added Minecraft for $29.99. What the fuck, when did the game get so expensive? Clicking on the game shows they also have $57.87 worth of day1 dlc also for sale...what you couldn't just include that in that excessive price MS/Nintendo? Man, they're fucking milking that shit. No buy.

I haven't seen anything funny like that, just regular game play, but I want this ported to the PS4 so badly.

I guess Nintendo is getting into the mobile market. Apparently, Zelda and Animal Crossing games for Android and iPhone are in development.

I'm sure it's too much to ask that the Zelda game be an AR location based game. That would fucking rule. It'll probably be a horse jumping game or something. I'm guessing Animal Crossing will be the Candy Crush type game included in the latest update of the 3DS game.

Please Netflix don't turn Witcher into a poor mans Shannara Chronicles. Give me Thrones production quality and cast or GTFO, you owe that to make up for all the Adam Sandler shit and whatever the fuck that Bill Nye show was supposed to be. Sean Daniel and Jason Brown, both from The Expanse, will be producing this.

Fantasy Casting Starts Here, go:

Around ten years ago a Polish friend of mine gave me an English translation of the first Witcher novel as a present, we'd been to this tiny festival where we saw an early presentation from a then-obscure Polish development team showing off the video game adaption they were making. Little did I know!

I'll bet Netflix go all out on this, they know this could be their GoT if they get it right.

THIS is what makes me really hopeful for this. What they've managed to pull off with the Expanse series is DAMN impressive on a NOT GoT sized budget.

Zack McGowan from Black Sails is my personal pick for Geralt.

Some white haircolouring and cat's eye contact lenses and you are good to go! And he does Raspy voiced stoic deadpan BADASS incredibly well.

Globel Test PUNCH!

I'll definitely give it a try. I'm not big on fighting games, but this looks friggin awesome. It's very Virtual-On influenced according to the GameXplain video guy with the beautiful voice.

I just can't muster any interest in Arms.

It feels like something that's going to lose its luster in a week's time, and should have just been a launch title like Wii Sports was.

It's next on my backlog and I can tell you that it's incredibly pretty, the controls are spot-on and super tight, and the combat is excellent. I feel bad that it got sort of forgotten when Zelda came out (and I'm a prime example).

From what I've played, I can't recommend it enough and it sounds like people who finished it adore it.
