Loved Pepper's speach about the "freaks" talking the fall whenever something bad happens. This is why I really like Murphy, he can say things that he wants to say and they fit into the context of the story at hand. So many times a show will beat you over the head with it's moralising and really be hard to sit through.
The musical number was wonderful, again well placed, fun and in the spirit of the show.
The only criticism that comes to mind for me, is that the show gives me almost no one to root for. I know Kit is innocent and all that, but the story never got me invested in his clearing his name. Lana's victimhood became such a charicature by the time she got picked up hitchhiking that I can't get fired up by her next escape attempt, also the Dermot Mulroney stuff already informs the viewer she has the baby. Rooting for Jessica Lange and the Monsignor against MaryDevil makes no sense...both are loathsome and MaryDevil is what they deserve. The other characters are bit parts n atmosphere....though Pepper was certainly strong in this one...I hope she is featured more as the season progresses.
