(shrug)

The show's creator didn't consider it a spoiler...

If you've watched this show, you should know that unless you see their decomposed or dismembered body, they're not dead. Even then, it's 50/50.

I expect to see Chloe back, Arden said she'd probably live forever.

Yes,  reminded me of Chistopher Walken's Pulp Fiction performance.  In a good way.

So, yes, the show is still delightfully batshit crazy.

The question hanging in the air for me now is: Is Kit exonerated, or is Dylan McDermott Kit's son and the rape-baby a huge misdirect?

When Arden told Kit he wanted help getting the aliens to show up, I worried for a second he was going to ask Kit to have sex with him.

I don't think you hire Dermut Mulroney if it isn't Quinto's kid.  It could be a misdirect but Bloddyface jr. was killing cats and people even before he knew who his parents were.

My guess is that Kit dies(or taken away by aliens) but is exonerated after death.  There will be no happy endings.

Why doesn't the doc have Kit try to get someone pregnant instead of almost killing him?  I just hope the aliens revive him because Arden seems to have forgotten about him.

Nice of the previews for next week to completely ruin the final scene of last night's episode.

So, with three episodes left, the only person who might get a happy ending is the Pinhead Girl.

But... they -didn't- hire Dermot Mulroney! smile.gif

Clearly the guy -think-s he's Bloody Face's kid. But we'll have to see who history remembers by that name.

And yeah, I was thinking if I was Kit I'd just suggest a lot of fucking rather than killing me. Damned Nazis are ALWAYS buzzkills!

Again, many people skip the previews for the upcoming episodes, just to avoid what spoiled you, and to avoid the spoiling you're now doing yourself.

If you're so sure he spoiled you, what do you think that sentence means?

I'm put out I have to wait until January for a new episode. Well played, American Horror Story. Let's bring McShane back for a lead role next year, please?

Him and Lange as a married couple would be sweet.

What setting can the 3rd season be?  A prison would be too close to the asylum.  Maybe a Jim Jones type cult with McShane at the head.  A fucked up zoo.

Knee jerk idea would be Lange and McShane as the heads of some kind of sinister Kennedy-esque blue blood family, wielding their corrupt influence through the halls of power, up to and including President James Cromwell. They're secretly immortal satanists or maybe they're trying to bring back Cthulhu or something.

Probably not crazy enough.

Salem?

Summer Camp?

Lange as a suspected witch or camp counselor, with McShane as a Puritan or the skeevy maintenance guy seem like natural fits.

A 70s era cult is what I would do. Ian McShane would be its leader. Evans would be a naive youth he gets sucked into the cult and learns to late how evil it is. Alison Brie would be a cult member who uses her beauty to lure in new members. Quinto would play a cult member who is actually an undercover FBI agent.

It's not the sentence I quoted, but the one underneath it, from his post.

That was a joke (I guess?) Pinhead girl was not in the Next Week tag.

Or was she??

hehehe...well, honestly, and no offense to Ratty or anyone else, but I'm out of these threads until respective seasons (Walking Dead, AHS) have wrapped. It's just the nature of the beast that stuff will be spoiled online, so I'm staying away from said beast for the time being.  smile.gif

ETA: I know I've made declarations like this in the past, but I'm going to follow through and stay away this time. You know, you guys are so fun to talk with that it's tough to stay away for long...but I gotta be strong this time.

I'm of the inclination that the preview isn't a spoiler but a total mislead.  But I bought a bridge in Arizona once, so what do I know?

I don't see how McDermott being the son of Thredson is a mislead.  He even said in the therapists office that his name was Thredson and he was the son of Bloody Face, so it seems obvious that in the future Thredson is known as Bloody Face.

How much fun does Lily Rabe appear to be having?

She is having fun because the Devil always gets the best material.

True. Al Pacino looked like he was having a blast in The Devil's Advocate , De Niro not so much in Angel Heart

Texas traveling carnival has to be on the list of possibilities. Especially with the possibility of more pinheads.

So Christmas day I was taking to my brother about AHS. I asked him how Kit was going to explain having sex with an ax murder when the aliens return his wife. That is when I realized any show that could make me say something that bizarre is some kind of genius.

Returns tonight. Is Grace carrying the Antichrist or the Übermensch?

This show is so batshit insane.....

it's some sort of visual mescaline.

I just watched that video and I thought it was awesome. This show still finds new ways to be weird.

Honestly, slight disappointment with the way that the two paradigms were resolved. Too easy, wanted it all to tie together.

Loved everything else.

That was unexpected.  Par for the course though, give me more!

I sure hope that's not the last we see of Lily Rabe.  She was killing it this season.

Predicted the ending, but I chalk that up to mainlining off of Return of the Living Dead since I was a teen back in the 80s.

The musical number though was pure genius! I don't know if it's my favorite moment of the series (through both seasons), but it's definitely tied at the top, or a close second.

Ryan Murphy said he teased what S3 will be in this episode like he did last year.  He said he wants it a bit lighter, another Romeo/Juliet type romance, and set in a place that had real horror.  Many are speculating witches and Salem with "I put a Spell on You" played.  I think that was one of our many guesses.  And Ian McShane would be GREAT.

LOVED the episode.  The musical number had to have been so much fun after all the dark shit this season.

What was the tease last year?

God, I loved that musical number. Such a bizarre tone was struck.

Do you happen to recall when this season was foreshadowed last year?

That musical number was incredible. I especially liked Lana and Kit looking like Frankie and Annette in one of those old beach movies, with big goofy smiles on their faces.

I dug the look on Kitt's face, "All right, I can do this . . . cool," just as he started to groove.

As good an hour as anything last season.
Was the foreshadowing simply Connie Britton in the psych ward?

The little hint last year was the psychic talking about places with alot of bad psychic mojo like prisons and mental wards.

Murphy also said he wants evil glamour type show.  Witches could be wrong and Puritans coul be too close to the hardcore nuns but.

Other guesses are witches/voodoo in a New Orleans setting.

Id like to see them set it in an 80's gated community. You can have the serial killer next door ala Freddy Kruger. The PTA mom who is a satanist.Perfect family with the deformed kid in the basement.

Too much like the first season.

All for New Orleans bordello in the French Quarter. Or a carnival.

Carnival dose sound good.Lang could be the owner and mother figure like in Basket Case 2. Even have it set right at the start or end of WW1.

I also want it to continue the motifs of real world people (Black Dahlia, Anne Frank) in the story and the inclusion of non-standard actors (Pepper and Addy).

New Orleans circa 1830s. It's a horror gold mine.

Loved Pepper's speach about the "freaks" talking the fall whenever something bad happens. This is why I really like Murphy, he can say things that he wants to say and they fit into the context of the story at hand. So many times a show will beat you over the head with it's moralising and really be hard to sit through.

The musical number was wonderful, again well placed, fun and in the spirit of the show.

The only criticism that comes to mind for me, is that the show gives me almost no one to root for. I know Kit is innocent and all that, but the story never got me invested in his clearing his name. Lana's victimhood became such a charicature by the time she got picked up hitchhiking that I can't get fired up by her next escape attempt, also the Dermot Mulroney stuff already informs the viewer she has the baby. Rooting for Jessica Lange and the Monsignor against MaryDevil makes no sense...both are loathsome and MaryDevil is what they deserve. The other characters are bit parts n atmosphere....though Pepper was certainly strong in this one...I hope she is featured more as the season progresses.

Just to verify, Pepper isn't played by an actual pinhead.

Wow, I had no idea.

So impressed was I with her scene with Cromwell I watched it a few times before moving on to the rest of the show.

"Arden you the quack that would make a better duck?" - So flipping good.
