I don't know why the kid coming out of the box scared me, but it did. The starnge little girl going sshh was also a good jolt. I'd go see this.

This stuff isn't scary because I feel like I've seen it before.  Nobody had seen Jaws or The Exorcist or Alien or Psycho before and that's why those movies were truly scary.  I know it's just a trailer, but it's still not a scary trailer to me for the aforementioned reason.

I agree.  It feels kind of familiar.  Mama is the thing that creeps me out the most lately and even that looks to be following a reasonably obvious horror movie eb and flow.  There's just something about the "spooky, scaaaaaary" attitude that makes a melting pot out of all modern ghost/demon/possession stories.

Well the director goes from Hellraiser: Inferno to The Exorcism of Emily Rose to The Day the Earth Stood Still to this.

Best we can hope for is that there is a Star Trek (original cast) like pattern forming here.
