Happily, I can now direct you here to my Looper review for all relevant thoughts on the film, though it suffices to say I am deeply pleased with it. I believe Rian Johnson has made something very special.
I feel like Looper has had fairly strong marketing, and I foresee a decent financial response this coming release weekend. Hopefully small, cool things like the animated trailer below have helped. This trailer from Zach Johnson and Noah Fisheruses a variety of art styles to re-visualize the familiar imagery of the trailers (which I’m pleased to say are actually holding a fair amount back), and complements Zach Johnson’s illustrated poster. It’s gorgeous: check it out and be there Friday! I’m not the least bit ashamed to advocate film fans going out to support this big movie, because it’s exactly the kind of big movie that needs to be made more frequently.
