My Queen of the Damned DVD review

Ok everybody my video store puts movies out early. They come out on thursday instead of tuesday. Now of course I just got this one friday. Im not gonna make this long and drawn out because I know the corner will be putting theirs up soon. So here we go, u know the plot....it was stupid....it sucked. Only good part was the fight on stage and possibly the death scene of the queen. Say whatever about this film but at least Aaliyah was very good in it. While stuart townsend isnt. Now as far as the picture goes its good, normally is. Now the special features are nice. There is of course a trailer, commentary by Michael Rymer producer jorge Saralegal and composer richard Gibbs, cast and crew list, 13 deleted scenes, 4 music videos, extended concert sequences, gag reel, production book stills gallery, and Anne rices vampire cronicles. The commentary isnt bad at all but it makes you really sad because it basically unintentionally tells you why Queen of the Damned sucked so fuckin bad. All they talk about is what they took out and how they canged things around. In other words how they ruined the movie. Anyway I guess im about done but ill end with a question. Would you buy this DVD?

If only you cats could read the review Dj did...

I would. I would buy it under one condition: That by buying it, I could assure that every single person that had something to do with making the movie would either get a kick in the nuts, or an ovary punch, depending on their preference.

Other than that, see Dan's post...

Check your e-mail in about 20 seconds, Dellamorte.

I don't think Django would mind if I sent it your way.

Actually wait.

What the hell is your e-mail? It's not in your profile.

It's available now. I shot you an E mail under my real name, but I guess you never got it. Thanks.

Whoa?

Really?

When did you do that? Resend it if you can, been having e-mail problems that last month or so.

And sent.

I wouldn't mind you sending it.

Others might...

An excerpt.

An amalgamation of books two and three in Rice’s seemingly never ending fables – The Vampire Lestat and the title tome, I think. I bought a five pack of the paperbacks back in college to impress this girl. I never read them when I realized she wasn’t that impressive. – Queen of the Damned is in most respects as much of a mess as you’ve heard that it was. Sure it’s well shot as far as long form music videos go, but much like Peter Jackson’s would-be magnum opus Lord of the Rings it’s hardly compelling enough for anyone not rabid for the source material in the first place.

Course neither was Interview with the Vampire, but at least that film had Tom Cruise’s “charm” and Kirsten Dunst in her only decent performance to date as the slow-burning kiddie diva Claudia. What we get here is Townsend who has all the depth of presence of a Calvin Klein model in a Zalman King titty movie. That Townsend is prettier than leading lady Moreau – who’s a genetic milkshake of Katie Holmes and Susan Day – is either bloody sad or bloody brilliant, I can’t quite decide which. Just about the only note he hits right is the sissy lead singer stance while singing his lame ass angry-white guy arena nu-metal, the kind that even Linkin Park would be ashamed to admit to liking.

Still watching This Replacement Cruise take vamping lessons from The Replacement Brandon Lee is entertainingly endearing in a sick sort of way...

Apparently some had issues with this review...
