I have heard a ton of good reviews about this movie and none of the Blockbusters or other types of rental stores near have it. I have been thinking about just going out and buying the movie, is it worth it.

I've got it on my NetFlix queue, can't wait to see what all the hype is about....

Scanners was the last movie on my queue before I had to cancel Netflix. Damn...I want to rejoin!! But I gosta wait till next Summer. I have so very limited time nowadays with school.

IMO Scanners is decent, but not quite the masterpiece that some make out. The best scene is a rip from Deep Red (and very possibly Dawn of the Dead).

Michael Ironside does make it worthwhile though... One of the best "evil" faces in the business.

I think the one problem Scanners had. Was that it would probably work better as a novella than a movie. I love the movie by the way. The thing it is slow. It takes it's time to build and lay out plots. Not that this is bad.

But it does it in such a nonsensical way. When you get to the end and meeting. Where all is revealed. You sit back and go. OH! How fucking cool is that. lol

Let's put it this way. If you like the Prisoner. You'll love Scanners. If you didn't like the Prisoner. Then well...maybe you shouldn't see Scanners.

PEACE OUT!

I never said that ChainsawZombie, infact I never said anything about Videodrome. My comment on Videodrome, it's ok.

TravisDearly, one little suggestion...you might want to use commas sometimes instead of periods. Just a note buddy.

Maybe it's just me or does Cronenberg suffer the whole Fulci/Argento disease? You either like his movies are you don't. I actually have yet to meet one person other than me who has really liked all of Cronenbergs' films.
