I'm mainly using FWC Pulse Rifle with fast draw, and FWC sidearm pistol.

The Wormwood (FWC sidearm) is considered one of the best in the game. And the pulse isn't bad either.

Your best way to jump to 400 from that level is to run strikes, rank up with crucible/faction/vanguard and play Archon's Forge. If you do that for about two to three days, you should get to 400 or on the cusp.

So with 8 hours to kill today, I downloaded Warframe just to see why you guys are so hot to play it. I think I finished the single player quest (killing some guy named Yor... at least it wasn't Yar) even though I had no idea what the hell was going on. The Yor mission, two other dudes went and killed him while I got lost in this main room trying to find my way to the extraxction point. Never got there but hey it still said I completed the mission.

I also tried to upgrade stuff but each time i clicked on something it just put a little icon somewhere and never took.

At least it only cost me eight hours.

There's two types of gamers.  People who see a confusing but complex game and are determined to work it out, and are rewarded for their investment by a deeply more satisfying gaming experience, significantly more satisfying than the average "press x to do a thing" experience.  Then there's people who get flustered and overwhelmed and just give up.  Their curiousity is not overwhelmed by a desire to discover and conquer but by a frustration and resentment.

From introducing several of my friends to this game over Discord the last few weeks I've found both kinds of gamers, and the frustrated group are significantly more touchy and need a lot more guidance.  Although everyone has eventually gotten it and become addicted.  I would suggest a guide to help you past some of the rougher edges, while also making your session a private one so that random warframes cannot crash your party and just scream through the objectives before you're ready to get there in your own time.

I'm definitely gonna get on that PC Beta just to see what the netcode is like and that will pretty much determine whether I'll buy it or not.

I'll have my shiny 1060 by then so it should look pretty at least.

Trust bud - stick with it. I'll admit I've been fairly obsessive over it lately and I'm hoping you didn't delete from your hard drive.

When you see me on, and trust that you will see me on playing Warframe - hit me up in a party chat and I'll walk you through the basics. There is a ton of fun to be had (and even more so in a co-op sense) but admittedly, the game doesn't do a very good job of explaining the basics to you. I'm also more than happy to walk you through some of the missions you're on since even the early missions still get me resources or an opportunity to upgrade lower level gear. Once it clicks (and really the first couple of missions should have made that so much easier) - it is just soo good.

Sorry if I sounded like a condescending dick just then.  I re read it and I sound like an asshole.  Let me put it this way.  Warframe is an AWESOME game that's sort of like an old house that's been renovated 1000 times into a mansion.  It's systems built on systems built on systems, and though the depth is there, it's very poorly explained.

You didn't, Freeman. I appreciate two things in gaming - one, there are people who as passionate about them as they are movies and so when one resonates with them, it really resonates with them. I like that you like it, a lot.

Secondly is that I realize that I am an atypical gamer. I came to these third-person/first-person shooters late, and as such I'm older. I just don't see things very well on the screen. I bump up the brightness, the contrast, as much as I can but the one thing that Destiny gets that other games like Battlefront, or Overwatch, or Warframe, is that I can see what it is I'm supposed to be doing right off the bat. Even so, I will admit it took a little adjusting for me to be totally comfortable in that game world, too.

I will give it another chance - I'm not going to delete it just yet. It is free, after all. No sunk cost like I had with No Man's Sky. Ugh.

My friend got that warframe prime just days after I got my frost, and it annoys the FUCK out of me. He didn't work for that suit at all.

Warframe, WTF?  What thread did I just click into?

Destiny.  I think I'll be going PC for this one.  Going to be cutting corners around my house, and if I can play it without having to pay the monthly PS Plus fee then I'm going that way.  I'll gave to wait a little longer , but so be it.  That just gives me extra time to save up.

This is old news, but I was reading the Destiny 2 article in Game Informer, and they talked about Crucible playlists. They said everything would be consolidated into 2 playlists, one for most of the old modes, and one for the 2 new 'competitive' modes.

Does that mean you don't get to choose your game mode at all anymore? They already limit your choice enough in D1. If I'm interpreting this correctly, it sounds really really lame. Why do they have to overdo it with this 'curating the experience' stuff.

it doesn't matter if that refers to two Playlists that you can click on and choose two game modes after or choose the current amount of games now or if it means you'll choose one or the other and be randomized into a game type because all 6v6 and 3v3 and the new modes will all be 4v4 which is just plain asinine.

How bout that open beta? I tried it on Xbox, in glorious eye-searing 1366x1080 resolution.

It's slick and pretty, as expected. The environments, lighting, and character designs are all nice.

The 'competetive' Counter-Strike mode seems pretty crappy. There's only so much you can do with 4 players and all those fiddly bits around the map. 10 rounds of it per match is tedious. Maybe it comes alive with teams of tightly coordinated friends?

Control mode is functional but unremarkable, as it was in D1. Now there's just shorter distances between control points, and the fights are more limited in scale.

The 2 playlist only thing is still a garbage idea. I feel like I'm being scolded by mom. "You can't play TDM until you finish your Control vegetables! And definitely no Mayhem for you, young man. Using all those supers will rot your brain." I'd say the odds are 60/40 on them walking it back to more playlists by the time the soft reboot expansion hits next September.

It took a while to get used to, but I've finally "figured out" the D2 Beta. Certain weapons are automatically garbage and the laughably slow ability/super charge is insulting, but I admit - once you figure out what Power Ammo weapons are the one to use, going around and one-shotting dudes in crucible who clearly don't expect it is gratifying.

Took me about four tries with randos before I finished the strike. Have finished it three or four times now. One time I finished the strike with no ammo left at all - so I melee'd the boss until he killed me and just waited for my teammates to finish him off. That, clearly, needs to be changed and I think they said they'd address it.

Beta extended until Tuesday per Twitter.

Farm space was cool, much fun had on the soccer field. You can't get there anymore, but many people still logged in waiting for Bungie to kick them, like some weird Occupy movement.

And after Tuesday ya'll are going to need something do to for a couple of months so Imma just going to leave this here since the console update dropped today (and those of you playing Destiny up to this point are on console, so there) :)

What are you waiting for Tenno?

I dunno dave, these Destiny players might have their damn MINDS BLOWN by the speed and fluidity of Warframe...  Not sure they're up for it.

I gave warframe a whirl and it was much too grind-y for my tastes

It's shocking how much this Destiny 1.25 Beta looks like Destiny 1.  Shocking I say.

At least you gave it a shot (which is more than I can say for many of the Destiny folks around here tap tap tap)

And yes, make no mistake, Warframe is a very grindy game. If you're not into the grind for gear - than Warframe probably won't hold your interest. However, having said that - if you don't mind the grind, the game will reward you for your patience - planets are marked with what resources they carry (and at what level of rarity), and most bosses contain the blueprints for a specific frame. Most of those bosses have taken me around 10 - 12 runs to get all the blueprints I needed. For what its worth, I'm now 2 pieces away from farming the entirety of the prime vault which was unsealed for about a month including Rhino and Mag Prime (frames), and the weapons Boltor, Boar, Darka, and the fist weapons - so once you know how to relic farm (in addition to using Sydicate points) - it's very do-able. During those runs I'm also now finishing construction of Oberon and Banshee prime (already had Nekros and Trinity).

So grindy - Yes, very (I nor the game make any bones about it)

Will your grinding pay off - also yes.

As a disclaimer - I have spent about $40 on the "free to play" game thus far, but considering the time I've invested, I A) don't mind supporting the game and B) have spent 99% of that platinum on inventory slots (hear that Destiny players - you want more vault space, you CAN HAVE IT) and a few cosmetic items because dammit, I wanted them :)

Make sure you get the Despoil Mod as soon as possible (Available from Red Veil - if you've already pissed them off get it in trade chat if you need to. Should also be available from another Syndicate but I'm not sure off hand who). Getting the other augment that allows his shadows to each take 6% of damage done to Nekros in his stead is also highly recommended (Shield of Shadows I believe it is called). Don't worry about Despoil turning the cost to desecrate from energy to health, you'll get plenty of health orbs while desecrating to keep yourself pretty well topped off. Nekros is easily my go-to for resource farming and survival missions since desecrate will also grant more of the personal life support pods from enemies in the area - you rarely need to touch the one the Lotus drops :)

Rifle looks like it could be fun ... but I'm hoping this means they spent the budget on the game and could no longer afford to license LZ for their trailers.

I'm such a weak-minded plebe.

Give zero fucks about Destiny 2.

Live-action Destiny 2 trailer makes me want to play Destiny 2.
