For anyone wanting to get some of that kaiju action going on, I can't recommend Monsterpocalypse enough.  It's collectible, but they do have 2 player starter sets that give you everything you need to start tearing up a miniature city.  Plus, it does have one faction of alien creatures that want to destroy earth and another faction of piloted robots to defend it.
