Here's what to expect from the new season, and how it will be different from the original show...

Sounds like they're actually trying. Great on them. Of course, if it's actually a good decision remains to be seen.

I wonder how they will handle the censorship, if any. Is it like HBO with no rules, or will they be playing by Foxs standard. Or a middle ground?

Honestly I kinda hope they keep the bleeps.  In an odd way it's part of the show's charm.

Yeah, they could work wonders with bleeps:

Agreed. Even with its more "blue" elements (Tobias reference intended), like the bleeped profanity, the sexual references and double-entendres, etc., it was always more cheeky than outright dirty. Its humor was firmly PG-13, not R.

I'm not sure I agree with the PG13 stuff. The show's light, often whimsical tone often masked dark and disturbing storylines with definite R rated elements. Tobias calling his wife a cunt in front of their teenage daughter comes to mind.

I do agree that keeping those elements censored actually heightens the comedy. But, if there are no restrictions, I'm mighty curious to see what they come up with.

And I'm not sure I agree with "dark and disturbing." It wasn't some black comedy in disguise, and there weren't any "very special episodes." It genuinely was whimsical, even when it satirized otherwise serious subjects (marital discord, single parenthood, war, dismemberment by aquatic mammal). It was all just to make us laugh.

Maybe Fox censored them during their initial run, I don't know, I haven't listened to the commentaries or anything. I'm just not expecting it to suddenly become The Sopranos or Deadwood contentwise just because it won't be on the public airwaves. It never came across as their hands being tied (except when it came to how many episodes they'd get each season).
