A sequel to The Hitcher?

Why god, WHYYYY?

Sigh, which lame brain thought this one up? The original is just excellent, and doesn't need a sequel.
Best part Rutger Hauer ever played apart from Roy "Nexus 6" Batty. At least they could ask him back for the sequel (since bad direct to video crap is all my fellow countryman seems to do these days), since I'm still a follower of the "the Hitcher isn't quite human" theory...

Maybe C. Thomas Howell is just rilly good in bed and he did some mega convincing to the right people in order to get some work...?

I dunno, it's absolutely fucking ridiculous that a fantastic movie which gives no indication toward, or even remotely has any reasonable possibility for a sequel is getting one.
Someone's gone to the fucking well one too many times and this time they're gonna come up with worm piss.

What can I say This one sucks....
But bitching and moaning won't help....

Let us hope that if they do a sequel Devil forbids at least it will be less then utter garbage.... Which is not likely }:-(

Yes, "The Hitcher 2: Electric Thumbaloo" is gonna suck.

But I have to pay my respects to Krankyboy for his reference to "The Children". That movie was such a total farce that I LOVED it when I was, like, 12 or something. The only way to kill them was to chop off their hands... good times, good times.

C. Thomas Howell needs work!

Kranky - I'm trying to remember the ending... wasn't it a shot of the baby breast feeding? And there was a close-up of those tell-tale fingernails?
I really need to get a life if I actually retained that image in my mind.

Actually I *could* see a sequel to this. In the vein of Aliens or The Chronicles of Riddick.
No, not Ryder vrs Aliens, or even Ryder vrs Riddick for that matter...what I mean is to take the Ryder character (we're under the "not quite human" theory...keep going with it, and Ryder's trying to get himself killed and can't, even when hit repeatedly with a car and shot to hell with a SPAS-12) and go in a different direction entirely. An example would be someone who knows what Ryder is...either someone like him or a controller...comes to collect him.
Maybe Christopher Walken.

Won't happen that way, of course, but hey.
