I've always wondered what those first two guys were so excited about...

Interesting.  We have Zod and Faora...........but who are the other two naughty Kryptonians?

I'll be damned.  I liked that!

Hope the one to the right of Zod is Non.  I liked what they did with him in his last appearance in the comics.  A very smart guy who was basically lobotomized and turned mute.

Tears, shakes. Just a truly epic geekout like I havent had in years.

My god, I think they just might get my favourite superhero right.

that moment just before he leaps into the air - perfect!

I have hope for this film now.

"You are my son!"

My God, Costner looks incredible in this.

Given that it's Zack Snyder I refuse to completely give in to my optimism but yup, that looks pretty amazing. The hopeful tone absolutely sells it.

I'm a guy who has never bothered to see any of the previous Superman movies, and have never been very interested in Supes as a character.  However, consider me in for this one, looks like a lot of fun.

Yep, that's a great trailer. Score sounds excellent.

Oh goody, the Superman origin story again.

Which we last saw on film thirty-five years ago.

This looks like the movie to beat this year, judging from the trailer.

I know, right????  I prefer my origin stories AT LEAST 36 years apart.  These hacks turning out origin stories once every 35 years can go jump in a lake.  What do they think, that there's people under the age of 35 who might not have seen the last one?  BULLSHIT I say.

The trailers for this are having the opposite effect on me from the Star Trek trailers - every one I see makes me more excited to see this, where every Star Trek trailer I've seen makes me think "thy're going to completely shit the bed here, aren't they." I think Snyder and Nolan may complement each other's weaknesses - I've thought that for a while - and this looks really impressive.

Plus there was like a whole tv series built around it.

I'm just trollin' to an extent, but in all honesty I can't say I'm that ecstatic over the idea of sitting through the same story again, only with the dour colour grading and "it is your DESTINY" pontificating that I bet will date it pretty heavily to the early 00's in years to come. If people are still bitching about Star Trek's marketing but falling for this one, I think that says more about prior biases than anything, I don't think they're dramatically different.

Costner was good though, I've missed his affable everyman schtick.

Well, I got goosebumps. Love the music.

I always liked the idea that Superman's insignia was a Kryptonian symbol that just happened to resemble an 'S.' I always thought it was his family crest of something (The House of El) but here it's a symbol of hope.

Is that new or from the comics? Either way I really like that.

Effective emotional beats.

Great soundtrack

Superman punching stuff.

I've got a great feeling about this.

I liked the other trailers more but this one still delivers.

But it's Zack Snyder, so ... damn it.

What a nice surprise to wake up to.  I've not liked a Snyder film to date, so there are still reservations, but even if it's a disaster, I now know I'm gonna get an enjoyable score.  In the past couple trailers, despite the great music choices, I've had the Williams theme playing somewhere in the back of my head.  This time, not so much.  Good job Mr. Zimmer.

Anyways, Superman's back!

This isn't something like Amazing Spider-Man where we had an on-screen origin a scant ten years earlier.  Not only has it been 35 years since we've seen a big-screen origin story for Supes (I'm not counting Smallville, because it resolutely refused to actually make him Superman for so long and also wasn't very good), but after Superman Returns, I kind of understand the need to take the character back to formula and make this a clear new starting point.

I'm not so excited. It is a fantastic trailer, but there are hints in it that this will be no different then Snyder's other films.

Nice little Easter Egg in the trailer: LexCorp -

Wow, that actually looked exciting. And not only does Superman throw a punch this time, but it looks like he will throw quite a few. I only hope the action/fight scenes are somewhat grounded. This is a wild card for me, I certainly hope to NOT see Snyder's typical over stylized fight choreography. But then again, I don't want Dark Knight level realism. Somewhere in between would be nice.

I'm on board with being ok with another origin story, since it's been so long. However they seem to have diverged quite a bit from the source. So what is it going to be now, some kind of civil war that Jor-El was trying to hide his son from? I wonder if there will still be some sort of planet wide catastrophe. If not that presents a challenge, or maybe opportunity? That would mean a whole lot of potential Kryptonians hanging around.

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing it is simply Zod's insurrection and it amounts to more than Ursa and Non just shoving around a few scientists before walking into a trap.  And we've already been given a reason as to why Ka-El is in danger:  the Kryptonians are genetically-engineered at this point, but Jor-El's son was naturally conceived....making him unique and illegal.

Yeah.

It looks like they finally, really, truly got this right.

I'm really excited. Might be the Superman movie we've been waiting decades for.

The thing that gives me a little bit of hope is that everyone behind the scenes on this thing has experience with this kind of project. It allows me to believe that there won't be the kind of training wheels feeling of either Batman Begins or Raimi's first Spider-Man.

After all, training wheels and speed ramping just don't mix.
