Kolchak on SCI FI Channel today!

Another heads up. Kolchak will be on Scifi channel starting at 11:00 AM and ending at 4:00 PM. Todays episodes include : The one with the space creature, The werewolf, and the moss monster, and several others.

Watching these reminds me: Darren McGavin was an outstanding comic actor. One of these days I'm going to check out his other films...

It's funny, as many times as I have watched this show, I don't remember ever noticing that his hat ends up in the trashcan at the beginning of the show. Funny little touch.

Kolchak is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, TV characters of all time. I wish I could watch these too.

Thanks for the heads up Bill. This was the first time I had ever heard about this show, and I had a blast watching it. Darren was also great in A Christmas story.

Hey we could combine the 2. Kolchak: A Christmas Story. It could be that Ralphie is being told by the Bumpkis's demonic dog to shoot people with his Red Rider BB gun. His dad (Darin McGavin) finally realizes the true evil of the turkey snatching dogs. He must stop the evil influence before Ralphie becomes totally possessed. At the end, the dog is sent back to hell and Ralphie is freed from its evil influence, but the damage is done, he is concidered a bad seed, and he is forced to move away and change his name...yes you guessed it, Ralphie changes his name to Carl Kolchak. And that is how it all began. wink

I love the episode "The Trevi Collection". Those mannequins were just spooky. I always have loved the part at the end where Kolchak is chased out of the building by the witch, and Kolchak leaps onto the hood of a car and says "HA HAAAAAH! I hereby accuse you of being a witch! OF CONSORTING WITH THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS!" and so on. Its hilarious.
