Hm, I was a little confused when the Corner ran the story about Gordon helming an adaptation of Jack Ketchum's great novel LADIES NIGHT. A few months ago, when Gordon was just starting filming on KING OF THE ANTS (which is now completed and has had its premiere) I read - also on the Corner of course - that he'd follow up that film with an adaptation of T. Chris Martindale's also pretty damn good novel WHERE THE CHILL WAITS. So what happened? Did he drop out of the project? Last I heard he was shopping it around for studio support ... Well, seeing how things are going, he probably didn't get all that much support. The problem with CHILL if done close to the novel would be that it would have to have a budget of about 15-20 million in order to pull off the extensive creature effects credibly and shoot on location, which would also be essential, as anyone who has read the novel will agree. So my guess is that financing didn't happen for CHILL and that Gordon has put it on the backburner for now (I hope he hasn't dropped it altogether), going for the LADIES instead, which shouldn't be all that costy since it features no supernatural creatures. Still, all that is just guessing and since some of the Corner folk are friends with Stuart Gordon I thought I might just as well ask if I'm right with my assumptions and if not, what else did happen?
