28 Days Later release....

I need help. Anyone in here with the info please answer this. Is 28 Days Later going to be released WIDE everywhere on June 27th, OR LIMITED release?....w/ all the advertising I've seen for it in EVERY movie I've seen in the theatres for the past two months, I'd think it'd be going everywhere. However I have read it is only limited. Answer this for me please. Thanks!!

I've heard it was a large limited release.
I know that sounds lame, what I mean is it will be in limited release, but there will be many theaters that will have it.

Kind of like House of 1000 Corpses, how it was a limited release, but it hit major markets.

I'm sure Johnny the Butane or the Rotten One could answer this better.

First off, if you want to find out which theaters it'll be in for the sneak preview, check out the story on our home site. Secondly, over at the Fox Searchlight message boards, someone asked if the film was getting a wide or limited release to which a Searchlight rep replied, "a wide release."

I'll ask some people today for confirmation.

The 27th is wide, the 13th is the limited.

If I can make time, I'm going to check this one out during the limited release at San Francisco Loews.

Just to let everybody know, tickets for the sneak preview went on sale today. Go to 28dayslater.com to get info on if its playing near you.

They also tell you to wear a red shirt and see what happens. I'm so wearing red.

Me too- can't wait to see it again with a bunch of folks tonight.

I didn't go tonight unfortunately (though I did see it a week and a half ago and loved it...even in a critics screening there was a reaction from them)...I just want to know what happened with the red shirts. Splattered with blood or a cool free poster or what? TELL.

This movie has horror and heart to spare. I couldn't belive that in the middle of this great horror movie there was a love story between two people I really cared about. That made the movie more intense. This is great movie making.

In the show I went to they gave out shirts. There was also some guy taking pictures of the crowd in their seats. This was in the U.A. on 14th st. in New York. Anybody know what that was about?

I went to a showing in NYC tonight. I was wearing a red shirt and i got a free sticker, a free 28 days later tshirt and my picture taken.

As for the movie, i thought it was pretty damn good. I would have liked a little more zombie action, but it didnt take away from the movie.

I still think May was the best horror movie of the year. But 28 days later is right behind. I'll have to check out both again.

Great movie! Very well made, cool music, story, and acting. There was nothing to not like...

I wore my red shirt, and got some dogtags (!) and a couple different stickers. There were also buttons, shirts and posters, and a guy from Fox taking pictures. Theater was packed, half the people wearing red, and everyone clapped at the end. Fox should be very happy about the wide release, I think it'll get a lot of word-of-mouth business (this is also exactly how Bubba Ho-Tep should be handled).

Those who missed out on the free "28 Days Later" goodies at your local screening just check out the Corner come Monday morning...

Damn it! Damn it, damn it, damn it!

I go to AMC 30 (despite the awful experience I had with them during 'Wrong Turn') an hour and a half before the preview... and they were SOLD OUT!

Bastards. Who knew Columbus, Ohio loved their zombies so? And, I guess one has to kind of take it as a good sign, that there is that much interest for a snek preview.

What do you mean by "Free 28 Days Later"? there was a free showing somewhere?

Whoops, fixed that post.

I went and saw the sneak preview on Friday the 13th in Portland,OR. I was glad I bought my tickets at Fandango because it had sold out about five hours before the show. Somehow I got lucky and had the only open seat in the theater next to me. First off-excellent movie. Definitely delivered the goods. But I do take issue with the tag line "Reinvents Zombie Horror". Technically a zombie is the dead who have been reanimated. The baddies in this film are just virus infected humans who are still alive. So you can't really call it a zombie flick. Don't get me wrong, still a great movie, but not a zombie movie.

Anyone else agree?

Question for anyone who's seen both the US cinema release and the UK DVD:

Is this movie cut for US release?
Maybe stage-fright.com or some other good movie t-shirt site( i dont know any other ones) will sell them sometime. I'd like to get one too.
We actually gave away some of those shirts a few issues back in our games mag.

I'll be able to answer that for you next week, I just saw the DVD a cpl of days ago. The Movie's great. It's got a lot of "echoes" of many other flicks in there, but it is a great movie, I loved it!
As for my guess, after watching the British DVD, I can't really think of anything that would need to be cut for a US release, so I'm assuming both versions are the same...or more simply, that there is just one version. But that's just a guess.

Thanks, it's been bugging me because I've heard various comments that it's been cut.
