<a href="http://www.creature-corner.com/news3/jun10flashback.php3" target="_blank">Flashback Weekend</a> is upon you.

Sounds like a better than solid event. Englund and Dourif - together again for the first time (and doing Q&A's on New Nightmare and Two Towers, respectively). Johnathan Breck's there, Bill Moseley's there - Tom Sullivan is rolling out his travellin' Evil Dead exhibit - there's not been a convention in the Chicky Ill area with this much potential since 1991, when Fango hosted the impromptu Evil Dead reunion - and even THAT was in Detroit (Rock City).

I'll be there, and it'd be cool to see some Chewers hanging out.

Last year's Flashback Weekend wasn't so bad, with Bruce Campbell the featured guest, along with Tom Sullivan and his museum, and the lovely Ladies of the Evil Dead, among others.

I just hope the dealer room this year is a little bigger.

I might fly out to see it (I live in KC)... Are they doing anything other than showing the movies? What are they doing at the Radisson versus the Pickwick Theater? The site wasn't entirely clear (It just has 'dealer room open' next to Radisson in the itinerary)...

Last year, it was at a different hotel. But the setup was that there were "show" hours at the hotel. For example, this year it is 11a to 6p Sat, 11a to 4p Sun (don't know about Friday). During those hours, the dealer room is open, along with other attractions (like the Evil Dead Museum).

So last year at the hotel, there was a main conference / banquet room for the dealers - this included retaiilers, companies like Anchor Bay, and some of the special guests - like Ben Chapman, Richard Kiel, etc, who attended last year.

There was also a separate room that had the Evil Dead museum. And another room where Bruce Campbell sat, signing autographs.

The events at the Pickwick are per the schedule at the website. It is a different location, just a few minutes away from the hotel.

It would be a bit of a haul from Kansas. It's a 7 hour drive from Mid-Missouri.

That's gotta be an 8 or 9 hour drive.

I haven't seen many attractions listed, other than the movies -- which are less interesting to me, since I watch them all the time, anyway.

Does anyone know whether the show will be bigger or smaller this year? Before I sink $400 into the trip, it would be nice to know whether it will be worth it or not. wink

Not sure of the size. But as for last year, it only took a couple hours to go around the dealer romm twice. This is not a big show - not sure if you have ever been to a Wizard World, but this show was noone near that size last year.

And the fact that the show is still at a hotel, not a convention center, doesn't lead me to believe it will be bigger. Guest list doesn't look any lenghtier than last year's.

So, if you're not interested in the movies, or standing in line for autographs - just the dealer room may not make a trip worthwhile.

hey, i've been savin up for this convention for a long time now as i went to last years and loved it. But in regards to "will it be bigger?"...when i called and bought the gold passes they guy i talked to told me that the reason they moved to the Radisson was so they would have a bigger dealers room and i have looked at a lot of dealers' websites from other conventions i've gone too and it looks like a lot more dealers will be at this years convention...well..im off to the hotel...staying there from tomorrow morning to sunday...if you see me in my OTIS Ho1kc shirt, say hi.....see you there. ~DonnieDarko

I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of Otis House of 1K Corpses T's at the convention. I'll just say hi to all of them.

I hear you. The whole movie theatre thing means I work every fri-sat night, but I'm taking off this whole sat esp for the convention. I'll be at the convention during the day and the flicks that night and Sunday.

I'll probably be wearing my "Hello Kitty" t-shirt - say hi to me if you see me.
