Rick and Morty

I was a little wary after the pilot episode but after seeing the following 2 episodes and re-watching the pilot, I'm totally on board now..

What really won me over was when Snuffles....I mean 'Snowball'...wondered where his testicles were.

Shit! I have been meaning to start a thread on this show. How is no one talking about this great show? Also all the people that love (or used to) Community?

This show is hilarious and you can't help feel bad for Morty each episode. HIGHLY recommended.

Show is hilarious, but with each episode it bothers me more and more that Rick and Morty call each other by name in every single sentence they speak to each other.

This is the best animated series in years! Just amazing!

"What's bothering you?"

"Summer's being bitch!

"What's really bothering you?"

Oh and the spoof of inception meets nightmare on elm street.

FYI- there's an online "hunt and find" R&M game- "Rushed License Adventure"

This show got me when they had Freddy Kruger punctuate every other sentence of his with "Bitch!"

Hahaha yeah. Same episode. But It had me with the running gag of "YOU DON'T KNOW ME!"
Saw this episode again with my 3yo who, after it was done, kept asking me over and over to see the "Cartoon Network People Cartoons with the Dog Robots." I've seen the episode now 4-5x.

"Reuben's seen some rough years, Morty. Don't judge. You don't agree to have a theme park built inside of you if your life's going great".

My new favorite show on t.v. Everyone should watch this.

It's odd to start a show, show 3 episodes, and then have two weeks of nothing.  Bye bye momentum.

"If the situation keeps darkening, do yourself a favor and pop by Pirates Of The Pancreas.  Obviously, I'm biased, but it's really great.  It's a bunch of pirates running around a pancreas.  We don't white-wash it either, Morty, I mean the pirates are really rapey."

New episode of Rick and Morty (finally) airs tonight.

Yay! Can't wait!

That last ep was pretty good. Nice to see another ha-ha funny show on AS Comedy instead of the arbitrary hipster shit they mostly gunk up the airwaves with.

Adult Swim put it up on their youtube page rather quickly too.

"HUNGRY FOR APPLES!"

Hahaha this was great!

Man, this show is on fire! I honestly can't remember the last time a show hit the ground running like this.

"I'm Mr. Meeseeks!"

Press the Meeseeks box button, do it. (Click to show)
I'M MR MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!

I loved that the Meeseks did turn on their masters, exactly as you'd expect, but from sheer desperation to die ("I've been alive too long.  It's getting weeeeird, man.") rather than a desire for independence.  Twisted little spins like that are what make me like this show.

Have you played Rick and Morty: Rushed Licensed Adventure?

http://video.adultswim.com/rick-and-morty/special/

Despite its name its not rushed. Its actually very well made. And funny.

Know what I love most about this show? Is that despite how dark and twisted Rick and Morty can be (boy, that attempted rape scene was something, huh?) there's a surprising amount of heart between the two leads. It's great that Rick and Morty genuinely care for each other, and Rick killing the king at the end was weirdly sweet.

I just saw the after credits tag, about the Jelly Bean statue. Amazing.

Man, I hate it when the world gets all Cronenberged

"Boy Morty, I really Cronenberged the world up, didn't I?"

Ha. I love this cartoon.

Holy shit that ending.

This show is on fire. Each episode gets better.

That was brutal, maybe the most nihilistic ending for an episode of a tv show I've seen in awhile.

I loved the whole, "whoa, we can probably only do this like three or four more times, tops!' bit.

Oh my fuck! I did not see the end coming. Jarring in the best way possible.

Just binged all of the eps. Jesus fuck this is awesome.

Surfing around this evening I read that R&M got picked up for a second season.

http://splitsider.com/2014/01/adult-swim-renews-rick-and-morty-for-season-2/

...and I saw some of the remaining season 1 episode titles -

"Raising Gazorpazorp"

"Rixty Minutes"

"Something Ricked This Way Comes"

"Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind"

"Ricksy Business"

Renewed for a second season.

So, I'm not a big fan of TV. I don't like to watch much of anything on television nowadays. I can never keep up and devote time to so many episodes to get to a conclusion to something I lose interest in after awhile.

I tune into this and it is incredible. I ended up watching all 6 episodes (so far) and will continue to watch this show. I'm hooked. Fuck you Rick and Morty.

It looks like this is now tied with Adventure Time as my favorite cartoon that is really meant for adults show. And just like Adventure Time, this show could literally do almost anything with its storyline possibilities.I love how they barely hide that Rick is a drunk, amoral Doc Brown. At least visually anyway. Give me more!

It's on Adult Swim. It's not a kid's cartoon with subtle adult themes like AT.

Poor choice of words and too much wine to think clearly. I suppose a show where a human like jellybean tries to rape a teenage boy should not be shown to kids. Hopefully.

No new episodes until March 10th.

I don't know whose fault this is but they better watch their fucking backs.

I rewatched the pilot today, and on a whim decided to do some accounting.  In the first 22 minute episode:

Morty calls Rick by his name 20 times, but

Rick says "Morty" 108 different times.  I CANNOT BE THE ONLY ONE WHO IS DISTRACTED BY THIS.

Of course, it's still a hilarious show.  "You ask a lot of questions, Morty.  Not very charismatic."

Personally, I love that they do that.

IT MAKES IT FUNNIER!!!

IMPORTANT UPDATE:  Rick only says "Morty" 46 times in episode 2, to Morty's 14 "Ricks"

Also, they joke about making an Adult Swim show about the world of intelligent dogs at the end, which is insane, because clearly Scary Terry's world is much more rife with potential.

"Out there!  Not in here.  NEVER in here."

BREAKING NEWS:

Mostly due to their spending most of their time separated and interacting through John Oliver's guest star, "Anatomy Park" features a mere 21-9 "Rick!/Morty!" ratio.

Also, that great moment where Morty has to stop to wonder "wait, did we have some sort of relationship with him?" when Hepatitis C saves them, with his girlfriend musing "I think they're just like that? Like they're just good guys?"

UPDATE:  "M Nigh Shmayliens" is back up to 48-19

Oooh, an episode with Rick and Summer - should be good!! Daddy needs his Rick and Morty fix.

Stelios, I think that Adult Swim is holding the eps because the 4th Season of The Boondocks premiers on Monday, April 21th. They might be trying to spread out their new content*.

*It ain't new, but holy shit - why did no one tell me that [as] started showing Space Ghost Coast To Coast again ?!?!?!

Here's the thing all channels need to learn.  DO NOT SPREAD OUT EPISODES.  Not anymore.  Don't do it.  Put all the episodes you have out.  Then after that put them on again.  Build your audience that way, and then you'll have them for another season.  Nothing loses people that still watch tv like turning it on to find the show they look forward to seeing that night isn't on.  Put them all out, and then others can binge watch it.  If they want they'll become a weekly viewer the next season.  Or they'll continue to binge watch it.  But you're doing nothing by having WWEEEEEEEEEKKKS go by without a new episode when only 3 or 6 have aired.

Also no one watching Adult Swim gives a shit about the Olympics, so that's no excuse either.

I feel safer knowing MikeShaynePI is on the case.

Seriously, these multi-week absences not only help one to forget plot threads and character beats, it can help viewers forget when a show airs altogether.
