The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Page 8

I take back every bad thing I ever said about this game.

I just got to the Blood and Wine adventure where you get to talk to Roach.

You are forgiven, my son.

If I'm looking to finally get into this series, how recommended/important would you say it is to play the first two games before starting 3?

I didn't play the first two and I loved 3. I'm sure there was a shit-ton I didn't catch, but the world is so lived-in and real, I was immersed regardless.

I would just skim through a wiki  or watch a cutscene collection on YouTube, rather than slog through the actual games.  Don't get me wrong, Witcher 2 was really good as well, but 3 is just that much better that I wouldn't bother.

Just got the DLCs are fired this back up. Blood and Stone was a great story and I love Toussaint. The contrast to the rest of the game is great and that scenery is amazing.

Toussaint is like a fairytale land compared to the main game, and thats before you Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
get to the actual fairytale land

Just finished that part. Unfortunately, I got the sad ending.

I loved the little they put in. The Emperor with No Clothes was a nice touch.

It fits very well though.

I actually prefer the best ending I got. My ending for the main plot was pretty murky (Radovid lives and engages in racial progroms, Emyr getting Caesar'd and Ciri becoming a Witcher) so having a happy ending where every thing turned out alright and Geralt gets to retire to the countryside with Yen where Ciri can come visit felt like a perfect capper. Some warm and fuzzies are earned dang nabbit!

Exactly. Happy ending et all. Grimdark endings are for second playthroughs.

It really does.  I got the bad ending, but I was true to Geralt.  I told both sisters what I thought and gave proper warning of what might happen.  Then they made their own decisions, and it was sad.  But they made the decisions.

It felt like the perfect way to end one of the best games ever made.
