Favorite cheesy horror flick

Thread Starter
Hey creatures, what's your favorite cheesy movie? You know, the kind that are so funny you wonder if you're actually watching a comedy? I just rented a movie called "Thou Shalt Not Kill...Except," and it was a blast! This film busted me up with its non-stop silliness and over-the-top gore.

SPOILERS*****************************************

This movie had it all. Scenes of bloody combat in Vietnam, imaginative kills, and hilarious dialogue, not to mention Sam Raimi as a manic cult member. It featured macho Marines vs. weirdo hippy cultists in a frenzy of one-liners and ritualistic abuse. My favorite line was when Raimi, the leader of the violent cult, said to a fellow member (who had just stuck his hand in a pot of ritual blood), "Don't you ever touch the sacred fluids...Okie-Dokie?"

END SPOILERS*************************************

If you love shlock, you'll probably enjoy this film. As Chester Cheetah would say, this film is "Dangerously Cheesy." So tell me, what is your favorite slice of cheese?

Bloody Murder had me laughing the whole way through.

But my favorite cheesy horror movie would have to be "The Granny"

Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Hands down.

But it might be disqualified b/c it was TRYING...
I agree with Killer Klowns, that and Leprechaun.

Has anyone seen a movie called The Boneyard? Starring Phyllis Diller (what the...), Normal Fell (Mr. ROPER?), Corman star Ed Nelson.

It's about a three-hundred pound psychic, a few cops, and some assorted others locked in a mortuary with some Asian zombie children and a twenty foot mutated poodle. It's great!

Huge fan of "Pieces". It's classic and man, is it chessy! I sport a Pieces t-shirt fer cryin' out loud!

Other than Pieces, I also love Whore Mangler. Why? Cause I'm fucking crazy! YEAH!

I remember 'Death Spa' as being terribly cheesey and fun.

Heh heh heh....

Now every one stay still, and don't throw any rocks or daggers...

My favorite cheesy fun is the Puppet Master series from Full moon.

Graveyard Disturbance, and THIS translated quote from that cheap Lamberto Bava movie :

*Dumb teenagers facing an undead madman with a glowing-red eye*

#1 : « Qu'allons nous faire si vous nous tuez!?!? »

#2 : « Nous allons tous devenir comme lui! »

Translation :

#1 "What are we gonna do if you kill us?!?!!?"

#2 "We're all gonna be like him!"

SSssssoooooooooo DUMB!!!!!!!

Like, well, if you die... YOU'RE DEAD, YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING ELSE!

Killer Klowns or Jack Frost. It's a toss up.
Elves (anything with Dan Haggerty really)
The Boneyard (actually had a few creepy scenes, and then a buttload of pure cheese)
Slaughter High (had to love the theme song)
Pieces (its exactly what you think it is...indeed!)
Easily for me, it's Jack Frost 2: Revenge Of The Mutant Killer Snowman. Probably the single most cheesiest horror movie I've ever seen.
The Toxic Avenger. Maybe not a true horror film, but I love all those cheesy troma movies.

Another good one is Night of the Creeps, which is cheesy but actually a good movie...
When in the hell is Night of the Creeps coming to DVD?????!!!!!

Anyway, my personal cheesy horror flick has got to be: Killer Condom

I mean, you got Germans acting like Italians but speaking in German while living in present-day New York City. How can you beat that?! Oh yeah, and these condoms, see, they're alive and they bite off penises. The hero is a gay detective called Luigi Mackaroni (gotta love that!) who sports a "long" one. As trivia, H.R. Giger actually was a creative consultant and I think that he should've had asked for his name to be removed because the designs themselves weren't that great.

Blood Diner always raises a smile, as does Shrunken Heads. There's a ton of great B&W cheese that I love with all my heart - especially From Hell It Came (killer tree stump!), The Killer Shrews (or "dogs in wigs") and Attack Of The Giant Leeches (redefining the word "giant").

Funny movie. You gotta love the tagline -
It's the rubber that rubs you out!

Has no one mentioned the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes franchise? Come on, it's the saga that brought you George Clooney!
Oh no, come on, Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes
is easily the worst comedy/horror-flick I've
ever seen... frown
And, indeed, Clooney stars in the sequel... I'm never going to see it... I hope...

Vamps.

I'm in the mood for love simply because they're naked....
Night of the Demons. Oh so cheesy. I love it.
Terror Vision or House. Hands down.
I've got a few age old cheddar favorites but wonder if some of them fit the horror mold.
- Night of the Creeps (always a guilty pleasure)
- Nightmare on Elm Street III (In my dreams I am the wizard master - HAHAHAHA!)

I'm loving this warm fuzzy Merry Christmas vibe regarding Night of the Creeps.
Sorry about the double post folks, I guess I got a little trigger happy. As for Creeps on DVD, I thought that there was a bare bones edition of it up here in Canada back when DVD was but a blip on the home entertainment market, but I have been known to be wrong from time to time. I caught it on the SCREAM Channel two months back and I have to say that it's just as tongue in cheek as it ever was. You just have to love the opening scene with those midgets (politically incorrect?) running about their spaceship in little alien outfits.

Where to start....

Thou Shall Not Kill Except...
Pieces
Chopper Chicks In Zombietown
Dead Alive
Bad Taste
Killer Klowns
Rabid Grannies(must see..cheesefest)
Demonic Toys
Street Trash
Pin
Highway to Hell
Blood Diner
Castle Freak
Garbage Pail Kids
Freakshow

whew...too many to name, I love the cheese...

Are we forgetting Return to Horror High? Although Clooney's only in it for about 5 minutes. Still, that's another great one for this list.

Pretty pricey. I haven't found it in any video stores though. I do have fond memories of seeing that film when I was a kid. Actually, I remember it making me kind of depressed.
Whoa. Yes, Garbage Pail Kids were awesome trading cards. I had a huge collection of them and to this day I don't know what I've done with them.

As for the film, wow, I pretty much forgot about it. In fact, I couldn't even believe that there was a movie based on them. Slowly I remembered a scene where they were in the movie theaters and one of them barfed popcorn for like 2 minutes or something. Knowing me back then, I probably laughed my ass off. In fact, I probably had the same reaction when Lardass barfed in Stand By Me.

When I think about it, Garbage Pail Kids were pretty daring and was actually funny (loved the jokes and descriptions). Someone should revive this but without referencing the Cabbage Patch Kids as most kids probably wouldn't know what the heck these vegetable kiddies are.

TerrorVision - I'd forgotten that one. Classic.

I love this movie with all my heart but I have to object and say it wouldn't qualify as cheesy because it's a spoof (and LEAGUES better than Scary Movie or that I Know What You Screamed et al flick).

Some favorite guilty pleasures?
- Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowlarama
- The Spookies
- Night of the Demons
- Subspecies
- Return to Horror High
- The Stuff
- Children of the Night
- Deadly Friend
- Chopping Mall
- Ghoulies
- Humongous

God there are so many more I've subjected myself to... sometimes I wish I still worked in rental.
I was thinking about Elvira's Movie Macabre. That's where I saw Alien Contamination which now goes by "Toxic Spawn". They rip off the eggs from Alien. When the eggs burst, you get the goo on you, then you burst. nice.
My list would include such flicks as:

Nailgun Massacre
Elves
Slumber Party Massacre (for the classic shower scene)
Pieces
Motel Hell
Squirm (Oh no! The worms are going to get me!)
Humanoids of the Deep
"Toolbox Murders"

"Basket Case" - At least the guy tried to remove the "thorn" from his side...

I know. Bad joke.
