Dr. Sanguinary!!!

When I was real little (back in the 70's) In Nebraska we had a saturday night creature feature show hosted by a guy named Dr. Sangunairy. For you younger kids..imagine something similar to Elvira's nationally syndicated show (still might not be going back long enough). He had this recording of one of those haunted house sound effects that he played during the intro to his shows...and it scared the piss out of me. Does anyone else have any fond childhood memories of a similar character???

Shock Theater with Count Justin Sane! I spent many a Saturday night/Sunday mornings shivering in front of the tv with him.

Not a local thing, but I miss the days of spending Saturday nights with Joe Bob Briggs for Monster Vision. He's still one of my favorite personalities.

I'm from Nebraska myself, and I remember Dr. Sanguinary.

By the end of his run, all they ever played on his show were these incredibly dull British films shot on video and distributed by a company called ITC.

The thing I always remember about Sanguinary is that every Labor Day, during the Jerry Lewis telethon, he'd be one of the people from the local NBC affiliate hanging out by the station and talking to groups of people who brought in donations. He'd be in the costume and makeup and everything, but by the end of the three days, he'd have given up on doing the voice.

Geez. And all we got in the Boston area was the "Spooky Voice" saying:

"You're watching the Creature Double Feature on WLVI, Channel fifty-six, six,six,six..."
