I couldn't pick Duke... so of course I picked ISU to come out of the South.  Dumb.

I did a conservative, KY-steamrolls-everyone bracket, and a hopeful, wildcard one.  Pretty much night and day, but the only significant overlap was an ISU/Duke match up for the Elite Eight.  I may have set some sort of record with 2 wildly different brackets busted with 61 games to go.

Another fucking upset. No perfect brackets this year. If someone called the first 4 right today I'll be stunned.

And just like last year I seem to be on the wrong end of every one possession game (not that most people weren't also with the 3/14 matchups.)

Just saw the call that got UCLA the win. Horrible call.

I'd be willing to bet this joke has been made a million times on Twitter in the last few minutes- "SMU? More like SMH! Amiright?"

One more area where Bailey and I are soul brothers/failures.

Officially 0-5 in one point games on day one.  Schwartz?

I managed to get a couple right, but only meaningless ones that I have the team losing in the 2nd round.  While the ones that went against me took out Final Four and Sweet 16 picks that mean my going 9/10 later in the day doesn't mean much.  Unless Maryland can utilize some elaborate combination of sexual deception and kryptonite to knock off Kentucky, I'm pretty much toast.

Every single one of my misses was a one-point game as well.

Even with three wrong picks I'm in 1st. How?!

The competition is a bunch of movie nerds.  It's the Pac West conference of bracket pools.

13-3 on day one is not bad at all any year.  This year it's really good.

My respectable-on-the-surface 12-4 masks that the losses were as bad as they could get for me.  Not that I feel particularly embarrassed at picking ISU or Baylor.  It does sting that the upset I did pick in Harvard was the one single-possession game that went in the overdog's favor.

Hopefully that bullshit is out of everyone's system after yesterday.  The only upset I need today is Dayton to pull through.

Last year ESPN had over 15,000 perfect brackets.  This year 273.  13-3 is great.

I will now show myself out...had Villanova in the final. Fml
post #30 of 44
I had Iowa State, so it could always be worse!!

I had both in the Final Four. #wellshit.

Most of my misses were teams I had losing in the next round anyway, so I'm still in okay shape.  I do have the most possible points remaining out of the group, so if I just go perfect from here on wait what is that laughing sound?

I should know better than to bet against Izzo in the tourney

Yeah, I picked a Rick Barnes team in the first round and I picked against Izzo in the second round. I really should know better by now.

Pulling for WSU to beat Kansas for ducking them.

My final four of Kentucky, Gonzaga, N. Carolina, and Oklahoma still has a chance.

WVU pulled a UCLA out there. I guess Kentucky didn't take to kindly to WVU saying they were going to make Kentucky 36-1.

I still have 3 of my final 4 in the mix in my two brackets. And both my champs are still there.

My North Carolina pick was looking pretty good for 35 minutes.

Fucking moral victories.

So glad Kentucky lost.  They were the FSU of basketball.  They were undefeated but played nobody.

I picked the final 2.  If Duke wins so do I.  But I'm rooting for Wisconsin.

Congrats to Meeeeeeeeeeee.

Feel a bit bad picking Duke when the group is called Duke SUCKS and my bracket is called Anyone but Duke.  But they just looked like a beast and I wanted Kentucky to lose more.  Plus this makes up for losing the Bond draft.

I wanted Kentucky to lose more, but I felt less bad picking them, if that makes sense.  I just can't allow myself to pick Duke with their cake draw almost every year and their annoying fans.  Still, it was a good pick, Anya.  I thought this was going to be one of the years they underachieved.
