Brace yourselves: The upcoming so-called X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut will probably be worth a look. I’ll let director Bryan Singer himself tell you why this extended version might be of interest:

This new Blu-ray version will offer more than seventeen minutes of additional material. It appears this doesn’t just include the Rogue sequence that had been excluded from the theatrical release. Producer and co-writer Simon Kinberg had already told Empire that said scene was a nice, but completely unnecessary ten-minute subplot. Highlight to get spoiled: Old Magneto (Ian McKellen) and Old Xavier (Patrick Stewart) go on a mission and rescue Rogue (Anna Paquin). They need her to come back to their hideout and replace Kitty (Ellen Page). Rogue’s ability of course is absorbing and using the power of other mutants. As Kitty is extremely weakened and barely able to continue, Rogue takes over and helps keeping Wolverine’s mind in the past.

The Rogue scene as such doesn’t sound all that interesting to warrant a whole new cut, though. But – let’s show some interest in Singer’s overall changes. Maybe his Rogue Cut outshines the theatrical version as much as Ridley Scott’s Kingdom of Heaven Director’s Cut managed to achieve.
