What can we do?

To make the Corner better? What do you want to see that we don't already have? How can we make you, the visitor, as happy as possible?

-Maybe some focus on music. I'm a fan of movie music, and I'd like to maybe see some stuff on Goblin and stuff like that.

-A monster of the week? A weekly introspective on say vampires/werewolves/zombies/giant apes/bugs etc, looking at the best and worst of the genre.

Some sort of weekly Classic Movie Corner would be a great idea. We could nominate them as well, share our favourites, that sort of thing. Also, more interviews with horror folk - most of them are pretty approachable, and they don't neccesarilly need to have anything to promote. Doug Bradley, Tony Todd, people like that.

To expand on this (great) idea... Perhaps we could do a classic (or even more recent) movie discussion every week. Sort of like a book club. I'd be interested to hear some of your takes on the horror movies I hold near and dear.

I also like the monster of the week idea. Sort of like the CHUD man. Such source material we have to work with!

I am also hoping that we get a schedule of upcomming story topics so I can plan ahead.

I'd be willing to an FX section from time to time, if that would be of any interest.

One word: "B"-movie actress of the week.
Maybe expanding on the monster thing, maybe we could have readers and MB folks give their own feelings etc on their favourite genre movies. I'd have fun talking more about Werewolf movies and stuff. It would also give a good staff/reader interaction. Plus, I'm sure the folks on here (HAM, Tind, KTK, Bill to name but a few) would A: dig doing that and B: would also give good material too, cause they know their shit.

Ghosts.
More ghosts. I also like the music idea.

That would be cool. It'd be silly not to take advantage of the celebrity in our midst

To expand on that a little bit...I would love to see a section for those aspiring to be in the business where experts could give advice to the newbies, like Bill with the FX, you could have different people give tips on different aspects of film making, writing, producing, directing, etc, etc.

I like the creature of the week idea. The more obscure the better. I'd also like DVD reviews with sound and picture ratings.

i like the b-movie scream queen idea.those are always delightful.
also, maybe a schedule of horror movies on TV.i know htis might be tough considering different places w/ different channels and such but you could always just pick a few channels to start w/ and take it from there.i know i hate it when i miss a good horror flick on TV cuz i cant afford a TV guide(yeah,im that poor).
i also liked the music idea.features on Goblin,DAnny Elfman and the like would be nice to see.

That is a great idea! Heh, I did that last Halloween for the entire month of October...and it SUCKED, well, compiling all the info and researching it sucked. The end outcome was great, and hopefully the readers enjoyed it.

I know Johnny prolly won't want to do it, and Ryan's damn busy, so I will take a looksie and see if I can train myself to check the TV Guide everyday for an update.
That seems like a monumental and impossible task, given the massive differences in regional program scheduling.
Actually, if you have direct tv, you can program horror into your box and it will show you a schedule of horror movies for the next day or so. I haven't tried that in a while, but I used to do it.
Yeah, I can do that with my digital cable box here as well.

I could lend a hand if this comes to pass.

Sadly, we don't have Direct TV. We're not THAT advanced in the Butane household.

About your ideas: They're great, all of them. The problem with most of them, however, is that I have almost ZERO time to do anything more than the updates I'm doing now, at least as far as compiling new daily features. If there's anyone out there that wants to help out doing an daily/weekly column, let me know via e-mail, we'll see what we can work out.

I like Bill's idea a lot, I'm sure we can work out something cool for that...

Keep 'em coming!

How about an... alternative cookbook? I need some suggestions on what to do with all of this meat...

Why do they come to me to die? Why?

I'd like to see an interview with Bill, too. Maybe with some stuff on "Don't Worry...".

There will be a review of 'Don't Worry...' as soon as I get the time to actually sit down and watch it. Very busy as of late, not that it's really a good excuse.

WTF?

Just for the record, my snicker was directed at Tindalos' post about the meat issue, which I thought was posted directky after his, oddness.

I know a very good writer who's recently found himself unemployed who'd be happy to help out wink

See it when you have the time. I don't want you to get mad for wasteing an hour of your time, when you don't have the time to waste. wink Seriously though, no rush.

Maybe with all the horror games coming out, the CC could include a video games section featuring both previews of upcoming games and reviews of older ones, like a retrospective on the whole RE series.

I like the TV idea. We could start small at first with a few picks of the week. Sticking to basic cable stations would help, too. AMC, TNT, USA, SCIFI.

For holiday weekends or Halloween, I always end up compiling lists of what I want to watch. I'd be glad to contribute these from time to time. I'd even add some sarcastic synopses, as Johnny does with the video releases.
