Mr. Robot - USA Network - Page 3

Bump!

Let's try this again.

Edit: Ballsy picking up three days after the hack was successful.

Anyone know any Dutch or Swedish?

Excellent music choices all around tonight.

Well the big mystery for season 2 is where the Hell is Tyrell? And did Mr. robot kill him..

I've already heard theories that Tyrell is also in Elliot's mind, but I don't buy it. Elliot clearly goes up to Tyrell's secretary and she says "who are you?"

But the scene with Elliot and Tyrell's wife was the most uneasy I've been in a long time.

More Budd Dwyer than I expected, what with all the commotion. But definitely good that they delayed a week.

Great ending. I hope it can sustain itself next season; half the fun of this one was wondering if Slater was real or not. But, they've certainly set themselves up for more intrigue, what with WhiteRose chilling with the enemy, or maybe not enemy?

My initial impression of the episode was that it was a bit anti-climactic. I think that having it delayed a week somehow diluted the impact.

I'm going to need a re-watch to let it sink in again...maybe watch the previous couple of episodes.

Observations....

-wonderfully interesting timing given all the recent turmoil in real-world Stock Markets.

-knowing the reason the episode was delayed a week, I think we all saw what was coming regarding the tv interview so that wasn't as shocking as it could have been.

-that 'door opening' ending....that's how you do a cliffhanger  : )

I'm not entirely sure, but I've read that the piece bookending the episode was the piece played on the Titanic as it sank.

With the musings on god that have taken place around Elliot, I half expect Vera to return a disciple.

One other thing I read: Elliot's father died on May 9. Three days after the hack, when Elliot is reading about what happened, the article he is reading is dated May 12.

Yeah that's the thing. I was waiting for this scene and then I saw that it didn't resemble the shooting at all. No reason to delay it.

Anyway pretty solid ep but to be honest I think I am going to tire of him arguing with fake dad soon. Although the cut of him choking himself was hilarious. Like I have seen mentally ill people talking to themselves and im pretty sure it doesn't work that way.

I love the new evil boss. "Im glad he killed himself". I actually had to laugh it was so cold and evil.

That's how brilliant the show is. The wife is the most disturbing character on TV this season (sorry, Dolarhyde) and when Elliott worried that she could read his thoughts instead of just writing it off as paranoid delusion I started to wonder if maybe she could. I'm buying into Elliott's delusions at this point.

I agree with you. And that actress is brilliant in that role.

But damn, that scene was truly uneasy.

Goddamnit! Been watching this show through DirecTV On Demand, ripped into the first nine episodes since last week. Show is pretty great.

Went to watch the final episode tonight, but, even though ep 10 is right there on the On Demand onscreen list of episodes with its own description and everything, clicking play on it just replays episode 9.

Holy shit this is frustrating. Fucking First World problems.

I think ep.10 is available on the USA Network/MrRobot website.

I think USA just released their own APP

USA NOW but it's not on ROKU yet.

Very, very compelling to start the show after the hack they had been building towards all season.  Desperately want to know who was knocking before  the abrupt cut to black.  Was it Tyrell?  Elliot's therapist? The police? I doubt the former, I don't think he'd knock. Also loved the E-Corp CEO/White Rose post-credit exchange. Dug the idea of f society throwing a big party at HQ so as to mask fingerprints/evidence/etc.  Clever.

My only complaint is the Allison/best friend character in the last few episodes.  Why does E-Corp give such a damn about her?  Because they know Elliot originated the hack? I seriously doubt that those guys, particularly the CEO, would go through such a roundabout way to gain access to Elliot for revenge purposes.

Picked up for season 2, yeah?

Indeed

Late to the party but GODDAMN that was great television.

I expected the hack to be the big cliffhanger, was not expecting a three day jump "the world is fucked" moment.

So much greatness.  I "liked" (in that he was a horrible human being, but a great character" the CEO of Evil Corp so much, especially in the last episode.  Massively intrigued by Whiterose.

And nothing felt more threatening to Elliot than his doorstep conversation with Tyrell's wife.  Stone cold sociopath that one.  She'd give Hannibal a run for his money.

Can't wait for S2.

Just finished the season finale up in here in Canada and loved it. This show came out of nowhere and was brilliant all the way through. Slater has finally found his show after all those others sputtered and died, he's amazing in this!

Season 2 can't come soon enough!

FYI

USA Network is running a marathon of all the episodes back to back.
Twice. It's running the whole season again in the morning.

Really, really good show I only wish it was set in the near future or was a little more scifi

If only they would have cast Haley Joel Osment in the lead role...

About to watch the finale of this incredible show.

It's not perfect, and some of the characters were annoying, but it's up there with the best.

I was shocked at how torn up I was at Shayla's fate when it hit.  She deserved better than that.  She deserved better than Eliot, frankly.  I'd buy way more drugs if my dealer could be half as personable.

Actually thought the finale was fucking boring.  I was barely engaged.

Lots of great interviews with the cast after their Golden Globes win.. #mrrobot on Twitter for some of these clips

I recognize some of those graphics and b-roll from IStock.  Not that USA would be above using those, but I'm going with fan made.

It's legit. I saw it through the network's FB page.

Season 2 premier date 7/13

Fingers crossed that the show is able to maintain the same level of quality as last year.

I wonder how they're going to manage it when most of the big twists from the first season (does Mr Robot exist?, Elliots relationship with Carly etc) can't really be replicated and those were the mysteries which kept me engaged.

It's been a few days since the season 2 trailer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YibylhkLwGo

But damn you should watch it a few more times, because 7.13 seems like a long way away.  And where the hell is Tyrrell?

So, late to the party, blah blah blah, binge-ing this over the 3-day weekend here, and man, I'm really loving it so far. Wish I could read the thread, though.

The pilot was maybe one of the strongest opening episodes (especially for USA Network) that I've ever seen. Ballsy as hell.

Hope everyone is watching the season premiere live on Facebook right now. It''s so wonderfully shot. Loving it.
Yep, I had no idea it was going to be on.

Really cool, creepy episode.
It's on Twitter at 8:30 and 9 pm on YouTube and usanetwork.com
post #139 of 382

Just watched it.  "Ominous" is definitely the word I would use to describe it.  Pretty much every character feels like their life is about to blow up in five seconds.

I had a feeling it was Mom knocking on the door.

Youtube you say?  I'm not finding anything.

No luck with usanetwork.com, either.

Yep, it's already gone.  It was just the first 45 minutes of the 90 minute premiere.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
A hint of what might have happened to Welliver in a flashback.  Elliott reachs for the gun in the popcorn machine while Welliver's back is turned.

I watched it again on youtube at 9 pm so I could watch it on the TV.  You had to search the LIVE FEED of youtube for it to pop up on Roku.

Solid opener for season 2. The last 15 minutes were pretty awesome. Eliot facing off against Mr. Robot was played tremendously well and shows growth with his character.

I'm also liking the new Angela. Not sure if she's truly part of E corp or playing a larger game to screw them over, but it's giving her a good storyline.

Plus Joanna Wellick gets more screen time, so I think season 2 will be pretty strong.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER AS GOOD AS GOT

Fuck me. Gideon did nothing wrong to anybody. That one hit like adumptruck.

Just caught up with the last three episodes of season 1, wanting to pick up on 2. And all I can say is...

HOLY

FUCKING

SHIT

Can't wait to start the new season.

Anyone else notice that the Allsafe office is the same set previously used for the SCDP office in S4-7 of Mad Men, only modernized?

That seems unlikely. Mr. Robot actually shoots in New York (I think USA must have some in place deals that make shooting in New York cheap, since White Collar and I believe Suits also shoot/shot there). Mad Men always shot in L.A. I don't think they'd ship a set cross-country for a visual gag that nobody would notice.

Mr. Robot shoots on location in New York... that doesn't mean they can't shoot on a soundstage for the office scenes.  If you watch and compare the two, they have the exact same floor plan with lobby with the two elevators, the same set of open glass office doors, etc.  I've seen enough of both shows to know that stage anywhere.
