Holy crap. Divayth Fyr! I remember him from the original game, where he was described as one of the oldest people in Tamriel (the Wiki says 4,000 years at that point). Makes sense he'd be alive during the time of ESO.

So it looks like anyone who pre-orders the digital version of Morrowind (only on PC or Mac) will actually get access to the whole thing 2 weeks early, on the 22nd.  And it looks like they don't wipe anything at the official release date, but they are using it to tune up and polish before official release.

That's pretty cool. Now I have to decide whether to take some work days off around that time or whether I should assume it'll take them a week to sort out any server problems, as per usual MMO expansion launches!

Also:

Can anyone point out what they've actually improved with Secret World Legends (which launches on the 26th of June) other than the combat? It looks like the exact same game. I thought perhaps the animations or graphics might be improved, or they'd make Agatha easier to navigate, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all.

Players who picked up the physical box of Morrowind can go to this page and fill out a form to enter their proof of purchase in order to secure their Early Access. That same page also says that players who get the digital edition or digital collector's edition in time can automatically take part in the Early Access, with no further action needed.

If you picked up a physical box of the expansion's collector's edition, you need to go to that site anyways, in order to get the exclusive skin for the Warden bear and the Morag Tong cosmetic gear converter and all of the other doodads. If you got the digital version of the collector's edition, they just beam that stuff to you.

Is Secret World F2P?

Last I checked, it was buy-to-play (buy the box, but no subscription required), but that may have changed with whatever this new thing is that they're doing.

Pretty cool game, definitely worth a playthrough of the story. And yes, it's an MMO with a story! And Puzzles!

It gets bogged down in standard MMO stuff, but until you hit that point, it plays like one of the better old-school adventure/RPGs.

I'll probably check it out around Halloween when I collectively gather the years horror titles to investigate!  Cool!

So.... apparently we're getting Wild West Online later this year, a PVP driven MMO title that is having a Kickstarter "to help flesh out the core game with more features". What's one of those features? Playable female characters! Shouldn't that have been a core feature?!

Eh...  PvP focus has me worried.

Thread Starter

Same. I guess it's a lot cheaper than having to constantly create PvE content.

Yeah I get that. But I'm the guy who goes in for the PVE stuff and dungeons and raids and PvP is like a nice distraction I might get into.  A side option.

I'm all about PvE.  Never touch PvP, with the exception of doing some PvP in Destiny only to earn something.  But in ESO, I don't think I've even stepped foot in the PvP area.

If we were all the same faction, we could have some fun doing the PVE stuff in the Imperial City. I've heard that the sewers, in particular, can be quite fun just from the ongoing tension that you'll run into a rival faction during one of your quests.

But, yeah, I'm more of a PvE guy too. Although I do intend to give the new battlegrounds system a shot when Morrowind launches.

If Morrowind was $29 I'd probably pre-order it today. Forty bucks just seems a bit much to me.

Yeah, I'm way too broke for Morrowind.  I asked for it for my birthday from my wife, but she tends to always ignore the video game or DVD requests I make.  Hell, I think it's become a running joke that every year at Christmas I always tell her I want the extended edition Lord of the Rings blu ray set, and she still hasn't gotten it for me.  So yeah, not holding out hope for Morrowind.

Just watch, I'll be Freeman the starter island noob who's the best chewer at ESO PvP in like a week!

The way I think about it is that they're promising at least thirty hours of new story content alone which is what you'd get with most other forty dollar (or, in my case, thirty pound) games nowadays. The fact you get other stuff (such as battlegrounds and the new class) is added extra.

Of course, I'm not going to tell you what to do with your money as you can probably put those forty dollars to lots of good other uses. (But it'll be a shame not to be able to explore Morrowind with you guys, if you decide not to get it).

I've probably got more story hours than that left to explore in the main game. Not sure I need more at the moment, especially knowing that all I'm going to see is hundreds of Wardens with pet bears running all over the landscape.

But I am sad that I'll be losing some of you guys to that expansion for several months after it drops.

You won't. If we meet up for weekly group stuff, we'll still make sure it's accessible to everyone.

Talking of which, I've not played much ESO this week (as I've been really ill) but will be doing my thing at the usual time tomorrow if anyone else is around. Would be nice to meet up with some of ya and run some dungeons or quests, or whatever.

By the way, has anyone here played Elder Scrolls: Legends? Any good? I'm not usually into card games but considering giving it a go.

Haven't tried it, but Hand of Fate has opened my mind a bit as far as card games go.

I've tried it.  Basically another Magic clone.  And like Magic and it's clones, makes me feel like a bad ass genius when I start and go through the training missions, but as soon as they take off the training wheels I get my ass kicked constantly.  I just really don't have a strategic bone in my body.

I don't know if I'll be online this next week.  Wife doing a lot of work on the computer, and I'm neck deep in a Twin Peaks re-watch.

I'd forgotten about Hand Of Fate. I should re-download that. Had a good time with it.

Hmmm. I expect I'll be much the same. Strategic thinking isn't one of my best assets.

Unacceptible. Next time we meet up, we're giving you a frost staff and forcing you to tank whatever monsters we face whether you like it or not. You can think about how much you've disappointed us as a giant scorpion slams its stinger repeatedly through you.

(I kid, I kid.)

It's a bit too late for me (I'm having an early night) but hopefully I'll get the chance to quest with you during the weekend, Jacob.

By the way, anyone interested in the upcoming combat changes should check out a recording of today's ESO Live stream. They're making some interesting alterations to light and heavy attacks which could potentially change the flow of combat in the game (for the better, hopefully).

I realize now that our radically different time zones are going to be an issue.

I've been playing Animation Throwdown, the online card game featuring American Dad, Bob's Burgers, Futurama, King of the Hill and (ick) Family Guy. It's fast-paced, funny, and fun, with a good sense of progression and just enough strategy to keep things interesting.

It's a good time as long as you aren't super-competitive, as all of the online challenges will be dominated by people who spend 100s of bucks on the game, but you can still win good rewards and get the best cards for free and you don't actually play against other people (just their decks), so you don't have to deal with poor winners and people taking breaks in the middle of games, etc.

It's probably worth a try if you like the shows, or card games in general.

What time zone are you on? If I can meet with Worky in-game, it shouldn't be as much an issue.

If you've ever played video games at mid-day on a weekend, I think we'll be fine (as that's usually the time we meet up on Saturdays).

I had some friends unexpectedly turn up at my door to check I wasn't dead. (I'm pretty bad at keeping in touch with people.)

Still, we should definitely do something next Saturday if anyone is around. I miss our weekly dungeon runs :)

Hey, I'm gonna play Morrowind cause that's my shit. How can you goons be reached in this fantastical world?

I'm good just buying the standard MORROWIND edition, right? Like, I dont need to previously own TESO?  Its not really clear, from what I'm looking at.

There are two versions of MORROWIND for sale, one that includes the whole game (the one you'll need) and one that is just the expansion in case you already have the rest.

Anyone likely to be around this weekend and fancy some group ESO action? Due to work stress and an ongoing illness, I've not really been in the mood for playing games over the last two weeks so haven't done much ESO stuff but would definitely be up for some dungeon delving (or, well, anything) if anyone else is?

I may be on for a bit on Saturday. Hard to say now exactly when on Saturday, but I'll keep an eye out for you guys.
