I am Jones' grandmother.

I'm Ash's step-grandmother.

I am Spartacus.

But seriously, Ridley Scott is course-correcting too hard after half-assing the prequel-ness of the last movie.

LOLOLOLOLOLooooh man, fuck this movie.

So Ripley's mother will build Bishop?

I mean that's how these things go, right?

I'm going to this film wearing a crash helmet so I can't hurt myself more than the film intends to.

I don't know, Lance is looking pretty old these days.

"I'm sorry, Bishop. I'll make sure father doesn't sell you or anything. You've been a great pal!"

Oh man, I'll bet he goes all the way and retcons Ellen Ripley into being born with partial alien DNA.

So that means...in Alien:Resurrection...she has QUADRUPLE ALIEN DNA!!!

My ass will still be in that seat opening day.

Edit: Article now says "spoiler removed at request of the studio", bwahahahaha. They've scrubbed the internet clean, just like Gavin Belson.

I hope they reveal Ellen's quirky uncles as characters, Skip and Chip Ripley. Those lovable rascals.

I love how that almost looks like the flight deck of the Nostromo.

Sources close to film and actress tell the Playlist that Waterston will be playing Ellen Ripley’s mother in “Alien: Covenant,” which is an amazing twist and true to Scott’s promise that the post-“Prometheus” prequels will eventually lead right up to the first ‘Alien‘ movie. But it should be noted that Waterston isn’t the lead of the movie, and it’s an ensemble piece like “Prometheus.”

Hilarious. Is this another Ridley "Should never, ever contribute to a screen story" Scott idea? What nonsense.
This thing should be retitled...

ALIEN: Ridley's Believe It Or Not

Does anyone else think, with the pictures showing

David with a body and different hair

that Fassbender might be doing a 'Lance Henrikson In Alien 3' and playing the human inspiration for the android?

Yep. It would be the safest route to get maximum Fassbender usage.

Shame as the possibility of having David as simply a head carried around in a bag for the duration of the franchise is mold-breaking and unique rather than safe. However we do now get the possibility of some Fassbender on Fassbender interaction though.

If I remember correctly, they said there would be multiple Davids. So there is still hope.

I just watched Prometheus for the first time since the first time.

Nope. Nope, nope, nope.

Should've waited for the Watchalong, bruh. Now you gotta watch it again.

Anyways, I think Fassbender is such a good actor that he could convey a head and a body acting with independent wills of their own.

"Dammit, arms! You're choking the wrong crewmember!"

Top pic looks like the Space Jockey. Which they promised would appear in PROMETHEUS. Not that we need to see it.

Probably the ship from Prometheus; David appears to have been doing some experimentation...thought at first this was just a props cupboard; on closer inspection looks like 'David's Lair' and he's gone full Moreau/ Colonal Kurtz...

Who's writing this thing?
Wish I could be more excited about this.

Thanks, Prometheus. And fuck you.

Here's hoping this movie ends with a de-aged Bill Paxton blowing everyone away.

According to iMDb, the original script was written by Michael Green (who wrote the revolutionary superhero saga Green Lantern which everyone definitely loved) and Jack Paglin (who wrote the Johnny Depp tour de force and instant classic Transcendence) which was then RE-WRITTEN by John Logan (who wrote the screenplays for Spectre, The Last Samurai and Star Trek Nemesis to name a few).

So with that knowledge, how can this NOT be amazing?

...anyone?

Seriously though, John Logan did create and write most of Penny Dreadful which I LOVE. So he might very well get a winner out of this. However I am keeping my hype below sea-level for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, I hope Logan did the lion's share of the writing.

William Gibson made a crack on Twitter about his Alien 3 script finally getting used, but it is funny that this movie seems to be comprised of all of the discarded concepts the Alien franchise has failed to realize over the years.

There's talk about there being an alien reproductive element involving 'spores', which is straight out of Gibson's script...That's as much as I know...

You have a link to that, Bartleby? Can't see anything on his Twitter page...

That Space Jockey Room is huuuuuge. Looks like Ridely won't be using kids in suits again.

So I guess the xenomorphs have the Space Jockey DNA in them.

Why don't I care?!
Man, how cool those pics would seem if PROMETHEUS hadn't happened.
That's it!
Seriously.

C'mon! Logan also wrote Gladiator, The Aviator, Any Given Sunday, RKO 281, and Skyfall. And Bats.

Bats! He's not all bad.

He's not all bad, but he's no guarantee of quality, either.

It's a spread-eagle hermaphrodite with skeletal arachnid legs, shitting its intestines out.

It was barely subtext in the original film....the sexual aspects were fairly overt.

The original designs for the adult alien had it's 'tail' coming out of it's groin area.

Given how this one will be filled to the brim with creatures and is Lindelof free I'm slightly optimistic about it,

The facehugger should see a doctor.

More like a gynecologist.  Amiright!?

Are they not doctors?!

Was that just sexist somehow?

It's a testament to Prometheus' lasting power that these pictures make me feel nothing at all. And I even like Aliens 3 and 4.
