DUNKIRK pre-release - Page 10

Jeez, the post-release is a ghost town. Are you guys going to see this or what?

I'm not seeing it until next Thursday :(

I'm seeing it in a few hours, going directly from work. Lucky enough to have 70mm screening nearby... But unless the internet lied to me, the only two theaters in Texas with 70mm IMAX are both up in D/FW. Sucks that isn't an option for me.

Yeah, I won't be seeing it until next week.

I won't get to see War for the Planet of the Apes until next weekend, either.

Waiting for the unrated Blu-ray.

Next Wednesday, IMAX at Waterloo. The actual Waterloo. They built a cinema just for Dunkirk to exploit the historical parallels. Which are...errr...umm...

Speaking of IMAX, why does it cost 22 FUCKING POUNDS??? Is it the 70mm? Or inflation caused by the weak pound caused by sodding Brexit??

The last IMAX movie I saw was THE WALK which was 18 pounds. Great movie, but still too much. But 22 quid??

They give a pound to each of the twenty-two urchins who stand on each others' shoulders in order to clean that massive screen.

I guess. Or the drone who does the cheesy intro before each showing demanded a pay rise.

I doubt this is coming, given that Nolan doesn't even release deleted scenes with his films. He considers the theatrical release THE cut, and doesn't seem inclined to tinkering after the fact.

I'm pretty sure overlord is joking

Really excited about seeing this on Thursday. Too afraid to venture into the Post Release. What's the temperature in there? Are Chewers generally liking the movie?

Sunday for me at the Imax. Trying to find the BBC doc that was made back in 2010 with Timothy Dalton narrating. Fascinating
post #471 of 484

I usually see new movies opening weekend and it's really frustrating me not being part of the conversaaaaaaaaaaaaaation.

I saw it a few hours ago Mr Saxon and I generally liked it a lot. Like, a lot.

Don't worry about what the others thought, they're not me. Well, I'm pretty sure most of them aren't.

I think everyone's mainly quibbling about whether it's great or just extremely good.

And about how it's important to be part of the conversation right now, because by Thursday we'll have all moved on and will look down on anyone who has waited that long to see it.

I believe him. And not just because I stood less than 9 feet away from him for about 12 minutes a few months ago.

Seeing this tonight. FINALLY.

Yes, I'm sure The Emoji Movie will dominate these boards from Thursday onward!

Want to see something moving? Here's the reactions of one of the few living Dunkirk survivors after seeing Nolan's movie:

The same person who's chopping onions near me, apparently...

I am excited to see the movie tonight. I heard mostly positive opinions. The negative ones were related to the lack of depthness in the characters.

As far as I read that's exactly how Nolan wanted to present the story.

Very curious to see the movie that 'tops Saving Private Ryan':)
