Well, Donald, let's hear your side of the story, starting with your tax returns.

Ha ha. Seriously though, those kids suck.

So this North Korea situation isn't getting any better is it?

It's anybody's guess at this point. The reassuring thing is that the only party that seems to actively want a war is Donald Trump, and if we're being really ridiculously optimistic it looks like China might finally be cottoning on to the fact that their constant running interference for the Kims' lunatic attempts at nuclear dick-swinging have the potential to literally blow up in their face. The not-so-reassuring thing is that the only party that seems to actively want a war is, erm, Donald Trump.

Trump's big idea now is to pay China to deal with them, in the form of more favorable trade terms with the US.

Donald, you stupid fuck. Let's trade domestic economy for foreign issues!

He went from getting Mexico to pay for a wall to paying China...CHINA! To deal with North Korea.

Brilliant.

You can make the case that decades of GOP and Talk Radio propaganda spoiled the waters for Hilary Clinton.

But at the end of the day, she didn't make the emotional connection with her supporters that Trump did with his, and whatever people say about voting for a candidate due to "issues" or "philosophy", it's how the candidate is able or not able to make that emotional connection that matters most.

Drumpf: So, Gyna, what do you want to help us deal with Koreans?

Chinese Ambassador (translated): It is in our best interests to help defuse this situation in North Korea.

Drumpf: But Gyna, how much to deal with all the Koreas? How about all the trade moneys?

Chinese Ambassador (translated): My translator is having difficulties. He says I am being addressed as China, and that we can have money if we take over South Korea. Can someone help?

Drumpf: If you throw in East and West Korea too, we'll give you Hawaii!

Chinese Ambassador (to translator): He said what? Stop giggling! Damn it, are you high?!?

TEN MINUTES LATER...

Drumpf (to press): I just made the best deal!

So he must have a ton of personal stake in Chinese companies too, right?  That is one roundabout way of going about fleecing the US for his own gain.

DJT: Hey, Gyna....listen to me....all you have to do is build a big wall around North Korea...and get them to pay for it....I saw some pictures on Fox & Friends...you Chinese  are good at building walls.....you got that OK Wall you built, right....I mean it's just an OK wall....it's not like the wall I'm going to build...the one that Mexico is going to pay for ....now THAT will be a GREAT WALL..Best wall ever...way better than your tiny wall.....who wants some of the best cake...?

Just watched the hat-signing video. I'm completely serious here: he really does have dementia, doesn't he? That video combined with his walkout in the midst of exec order signing, his downright weird tweets and his rapidly decreasing vocabulary paint a very grim picture of his medical state. Four years is a very long time for a patient his age and who's showing very clear signs of onset. This is already ugly and terrifying but it's going to get very tragic very soon.

The scuttlebutt I'm hearing is that apparently British intelligence has handed over a recording of Trump incriminating himself over to the FBI.  Nothing on the various news sites yet, so expect something this week unless he declares war on North Korea.

I dunno. Between this and the Ryan/McConnel thing it's reaching "too good to be true" levels. That and I'm forced to recall that the decision to prosecute has to come from the Deputy AG that Trump put into the job.

At this point my prediction is:

Carter Page, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, and maybe Mike Flynn get arrested, and nobody else. Only Page gets convicted and sentenced to anything beyond a slap on the wrist, but the conviction is overturned on appeal.

Trump gets all four years, maybe eight. America gets distracted by war with whoever and everyone outside the left considers the Russia matter settled after the first round of arrests/trials.

But It think we've established I'm a huge pessimist about the hope of the Trump administration going down in flames, much less taking the core of the GOP with it.

The Ossoff special election in Georgia will have tremendous bearing on what happens next. If Ossoff wins, or even does better than expected/makes the run-off, then that's going to illustrate to House Republicans in swing districts and even some solidly red ones that no one's seat is safe, and that the President will not save/cover them.

This.  There have been impeachment rumblings on my Facebook feed for the last 100 days.  It's all wishful thinking bullshit and nothing more.

I'll go even further - I've been seeing imminent breaking news/arrests rumors since...oh, 2003 or so. So far the score is Arrests - 0; Bullshit - lots.

If and when something does actually materialize it will be on national and international news sites, not some cryptic Facebook link or website.

All the rumors are basically social media playing a game of telephone.

"They should arrest Trump!"

"I heard from a source that Trump should be arrested!"

"Trump's def going to be arrested."

"Trump's arrest is imminent. More to come, probably!"

"Everyone is under arrest!"

Rinse, repeat.

In my opinion, no. I watched the video and to me he looks like he knows what he's doing. He's just being an asshole about it.

No indictments, no arrests coming, the Trump admin's rank incompetence is going to get us all killed first:

I'd still vote for the bunny. Look at those glasses! He's gotta be smart!

I'm down for locking Drumpf in a hutch, and we all pretend the Bunny is him.

"President Trump today stamped an order that carrots be mandatory in every meal, then he shit on the British PM's feet."

Yup, still sounds like a good plan.

It could only be foiled if Melania gives an interview akin to Jodie Foster in Sommersby:

Interviewer: "The President wants to know why you think he's a bunny, and not Donald Trump?"

Melania (turns to Bunny): "Because I never loved him the way I love you!"

The White House just sent out a press release ostensibly about the absurd "Buy American!" executive order that's basically just Cabinet-level officials saying nice things about Trump.

If nothing else, Trump knows from his experience as a corporate hack there can be a lot of value in these kind of fluffy, empty press releases.

Steve King is drinking a beer tonight in "honor" of a DREAMer being deported:

So the race to replace Tom Price in Georgia is headed toward a runoff in June. Ossof came close but failed to reach the 50 percent threshold needed to claim the seat outright. Whatever Trump may say, the Democrats definitely over-performed in a highly gerrymandered district that hasn't sent a member of their party to Congress in quite some time. Ossof got a larger share of the vote than the next three or four highest-performing Republicans, and it isn't a given that he won't win the runoff if he can sustain the momentum and successfully make the election a referendum on Trump. Definitely a race to keep an eye on.

All true. Also true that Trump only won that district by 2 points - in other words, if Dems can't flip a district that was that close in November, we've got serious problems.

Gotta disagree with you there - this is not a "moderate" district by any measure. Ossof has his shot because of the Republican vote split and Trump's genuine unpopularity among that crowd. In the runoff he loses the vote-split advantage and so, probably, will lose the race. But it (along with Kansas, another deep red district) should be giving any Republicans from moderate districts (that handful that are left) pause on tying themselves to any of Trump's policies. Which is enough to put the kabosh on things until 2018 and we can run a national election cycle instead of these one-off special races.

So this week, Trump has revealed he didn't know Kim Jong-Un's name, kept calling Paul Ryan "Ron" at an event and didn't know where the USS Vinson was for a week - http://www.palmerreport.com/opinion/donald-trumps-mental-lapses-rapidly-worsen-as-he-keeps-calling-paul-ryan-by-wrong-name/2352/

Echoing myself, but in the early 80s we also had a President who suffered from dementia. The difference: everyone loved the guy (ruled the country for 25 years) and he voluntarily stepped down. He was also 80 years old, though looked a shitton better than a decade younger mr Drumpf.

Oh, almost forgot another difference: our President didn't have access to nuclear warheads.

The Republican vote will all coalesce around the one candidate now.  Unless the Dem turnout is astounding, I think Ossof is going to come up short.  I hope I'm wrong but, in the end, I think that this 'close call' will also be a 'wakeup call' to the Republicans out there to get out and vote.  I expect to see a LOT of money spent there leading up to the runoff election.

Well, Trump has plenty of time to fuck up some more in the interim, hopefully, pissing of a few more Republicans along the way.  Really hoped he would win last night.
