Well, the world is obviously trying to get rid of us, and can you blame it?

This has to be trolling.  I can't stand this shit anymore.

Here's the transcript, if anyone feels like taking a deep dive into this idiocy:

It doesn't help that this resolution also runs counter to the prevailing religious belief in this country.

And I want to say I can't believe that fucking asshole was tossing rolls of paper towels like they were t-shirts at a basketball game, but then again, he's that fucking asshole.

The paper towel thing is so damning.  He is treating it like he's handing out prizes on a game show.  At the risk of sounding like Trump it really is incredible.  It's a miracle how clueless he is.

Also, Trump's playbook in the face of disaster is so transparent.  Just put the military and police response between himself and criticism.  If you criticize him, he pretends what you're really doing is criticizing the first responders.  That can only work for so long, as these clusterfucks continue to pile up.

Three more years of Trump.

I don't know if I'll be able to take it (ignoring as much as I can only helps so much).

This is what it's brought myself to.  A 'Zombie Simpsons' reference.

Remember from a few pages ago that story he told Howard Stern about an old guy falling and hitting his head, and Drumpf's self-stated reaction was, "Eww, gross."?

It doesn't surprise me at all that his first thought towards Puerto Rico was, "Yuck. Dirty."

To be honest I wonder if Trump even knows what a roll of paper towels looks like.  It's just as believable to me that he thought he was giving them life saving medical supplies.

Or maybe he thought they could start soaking up the flood water?

I assume he's seen "the help" use paper towels at one point in his life. What other assumptions he drew from those instances that he projected onto the crowds who confronted him today, I make no comment.

Its really surreal to hear Steve Inskeep recount the days news on NPR and somehow make all this shit sound ... not terrible.

Is that really your job, news media? To clean this mess up?

Did anyone see the Thoughts and Prayers episode of BoJack Horseman, where an action movie (produced by a turtle voiced by J.K. Simmons) keeps getting reedited and delayed as a result of a wave of mass shootings, and everyone says "thoughts and prayers" in unison when it happens?

That was a satire from last month. This is happening in real life now.

If only a woman would shoot up the place! That’d get legislation passed.

(Not advocating; that’s how it happened in the ep of BoJack)

Also: watch BoJack Horseman. It’s like the sad feeling of this thread come to life, including the jokes.

“I am sick and tired of real life gun violence getting in the way of us telling stories that glamorize gun violence!"

Philosophy.

And yes, BoJack is next-level and one of the best shows on television for Doc's reasons and more. Will Arnett is as iconic on this as he was as Gob.

This is a big deal:

https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2017/10/03/politics/russian-facebook-ads-michigan-wisconsin/index.html

Why is it a big deal?

Because there is no way - there is no way - Russians knew to specifically target Michigan and Wisconsin without inside help. Frankly, everything I've read and heard says that Russian knowledge of the American political system, particularly at the hacking level, does not go this far as to know which states are crucial in the election.

Which means someone told them where to place the ads.

And that someone was probably within the Trump Campaign's amazing, election-winning, cover of magazines digital organization.

Run by Jared Kushner.

Yup. They totally went to Jared.

Paul Ryan was hoping to get the Trump administration to reconsider its decision on Tom Price:

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/10/03/tom-price-ouster-paul-ryan-243413

Quote:

Speaker Paul Ryan last week urged the White House to reconsider ousting Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price, his longtime friend who had come under fire for often using taxpayer-funded private jets for travel, according to two people with knowledge of the call.

John Kelly, the White House chief of staff, called the Wisconsin Republican minutes before the departure was announced Friday afternoon. It was a heads-up call, one White House official said.

Ryan urged Kelly to reconsider and touted the Georgia Republican’s experience in Congress and work in the administration, one of the people familiar with the call said.

Price has long had the speaker’s ear on policy matters and was part of Ryan’s old “Jedi Council,” a group of fiscally conservative rabble-rousers who used to powwow when Republicans were in the minority.

But Kelly made clear that Price was out, and the call quickly ended, one of the people said.

A spokeswoman for Ryan and a White House spokesman declined to comment on the call.

If you thought the threat to health care was over for the year, let it be known that the Senate GOP's tax plan cuts Medicaid and Medicare.

https://twitter.com/jbendery/status/915300694399307777

$1 trillion in Medicaid cuts.

$473 billion in Medicare cuts.

$1 trillion is five percent of the national debt.

Fuck these monsters.

Price's actions were perfectly Randian, so it makes sense that Ryan raised no objections. We have these fantasies about Trump and Pence both being booted from the White House and I'm certainly in favor of that. Still, it's striking to see third-in-line Ryan sink below a standard of shame even this sociopathic administration could not ignore.

I theorized yesterday that his motivation for going to Vegas had to do with owning property there. I'd be unsurprised if he decided to strap his 6XL DJT polo shirt (formerly sold at Macy's) and play golf on this trip.

There should be a real life remake of Caddyshack with Trump as Judge Smails and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Al Czervik. Junior can be Spalding and puke in a limo.

That Ivanka/Jr. scoop is a bombshell.

This is less of a bombshell, but juicy nonetheless:

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/tillerson-s-fury-trump-required-intervention-pence-n806451

Quote:

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was on the verge of resigning this past summer amid mounting policy disputes and clashes with the White House, according to multiple senior administration officials who were aware of the situation at the time.

The tensions came to a head around the time President Donald Trump delivered a politicized speech in late July to the Boy Scouts of America, an organization Tillerson once led, the officials said.

Just days earlier, Tillerson had openly disparaged the president, referring to him as a “moron,” after a July 20 meeting at the Pentagon with members of Trump’s national security team and Cabinet officials, according to three officials familiar with the incident.

While it's unclear if he was aware of the incident, Vice President Mike Pence counseled Tillerson, who is fourth in line to the presidency, on ways to ease tensions with Trump, and other top administration officials urged him to remain in the job at least until the end of the year, officials said.

Officials said that the administration, beset then by a series of high-level firings and resignations, would have struggled to manage the fallout from a Cabinet secretary of his stature departing within the first year of Trump’s presidency.

Pence has since spoken to Tillerson about being respectful of the president in meetings and in public, urging that any disagreements be sorted out privately, a White House official said. The official said progress has since been made.

See, it's stuff like that that makes me think the Joint Chiefs and the Pentagon aren't going to let Immortan Don just fly off the handle and nuke North Korea.  The higher-ups know they're dealing with an idiot.

Yep. I think the real reason Tillerson was asked to stay on was to be one of the adults in the room.

Tillerson going full "non-denial denial" in an impromptu press conference, says he won't be part of "petty rumors" that are trying to "divide this administration" and that he's "not from this world."

And now Tillerson had to appear on tv to tell everyone what a great guy Trump is, and how everything is fantastic, and how he never has had any problems with the great President who is just doing good and making friends everywhere. It's so infuriating seeing all these people humiliate themselves and grovel for a complete idiot like Trump. It's no wonder he is the way he is when he never has to face any consequences for anything he does, because he somehow gets these sycophants to lick his boots all the time.

He didn't deny calling him a moron, though.

Yeah, changed the adjectives for dramatic effect. The original sentence was "I'm not sure how you make Kim Jong-un seem like a voice of reason, but somehow Donald J. Trump found a way".
