Sounds like he's the plain-spoken populist outsider we've been waiting for.

Does he have a stated position on Reptilians?

Trump White House Weighing Plans for Private Spies to Counter “Deep State” Enemies

The Trump administration is considering a set of proposals developed by Blackwater founder Erik Prince and a retired CIA officer — with assistance from Oliver North, a key figure in the Iran-Contra scandal — to provide CIA Director Mike Pompeo and the White House with a global, private spy network that would circumvent official U.S. intelligence agencies, according to several current and former U.S. intelligence officials and others familiar with the proposals. The sources say the plans have been pitched to the White House as a means of countering “deep state” enemies in the intelligence community seeking to undermine Donald Trump’s presidency.

Erik Prince really IS the closest we'll ever get to a real-life Cobra Commander, isn't he?

Between this and wanting to privatize the Iraq and Afghanistan wars....seems like he's determined to create a private-military superpower for himself.

Hey man the intelligence community is full of deep state liberal operators who can't be trusted. George Soros himself is bribing them with free abortions for their non-white girlfriends.

My good friend Alex Jones said so.

80's animated series loony but evil CC? Yes.

And Oliver North's corpse will probably get exhumed a lot after his death everytime a republican president needs someone to take the fall for him.

Jokes aside, this is part of the Dictator playbook.

Not quite.  But there was an organization in Nazi Germany analogous to what this would be.  Can't recall the name off the top of my head, but they basically worked for the Nazi Party, but not the government directly the way the Gestapo did.

IIRC they even spied on the Gestapo.

Oliver North is an adviser to this whole program.

I know, I read that. I'm saying that North's service to his republican overlords will last beyond his death.

And now Fox News is trying to make hay out of how much the Mueller probe spent in the first few months....

They're gonna try to defund the investigation with the impending budget stuff, aren't they?

$6.7 million is less than what the last Saw movie cost. I wouldn't worry, and I worry.

I think what Wikipedia has on Quaid is out of date. Quaid and his wife weren't exhonerated by the court in Vermont, but the charges were dropped and they were released due to a paperwork error on the part of the California court that the two skipped bail on (they were accused of burglary for squatting on a proper that they had previously owned; this was a parole violation for Quaid's wife due to the credit card fraud charge from the previous year.)

States refusing to cooperate with one another is something that happens from time to time. I have a relative who will spend the rest of his life in New Hampshire because he's 17 years behind on his child support payments, and New Hampshire won't enforce other states' deadbeat dad laws.

This is amazing. They're talking about a plan to create a task force specifically to thwart the rest of our country's own intelligence agencies, because those agencies are looking too closely at the President's conduct.

The best part is that the President, at his age, as long as he has been involved in the worlds of finance, politics, and organized crime, does not have a loyal crew who he feels he can trust with this. So let's hire one, because there's no chance of that raising flags while we have every intelligence agency on God's green Earth watching us like hawks. And let's make them government employees, because Trump sure isn't going to spend his own money to pay his Cobra troops what he owes them.

I imagine not being able to leave the state would be a serious detriment for a Senator.

No, I get that in the grand scheme of things it's not even a drop in the bucket.  But the way it's being framed makes me wonder...and $6.7 million sounds like a lot to Joe Average (it's a common psychological trick when talking about budgets to take advantage of that..."By instituting mass euthanazation of the poor, We'll save $6 billion dollars over 10 years!")

I find it interesting/amazing there there is any state in the U.S. that refuses to enforce another state's child support orders.  How do they manage to get around the "Full Faith and Credit" clause of the U.S. Constitution?

Do you have any additional information on this?

Winning strategy, ya'll.

I never said I wouldn't bring it up.  I'm just not going to do it in a way that let's a Moore supporter debate what actually constitutes pedophilia and media bias, rather than defending sexually assaulting a 14 year-old.

I'm not sure where I'd begin to educate myself on the details, but I do remember New Hampshire being the target of a Libertarian movement to move en masse to a state that was small enough that they could move the political needle.

I just dont see how $6.7 million makes much impact, as a number. Benghazi? Mar-a-Lago? Tax bill? Etc.

Its peanuts.

I wonder how much more than $6.7 million the GOP forced the FBI to spend on investigating Hillary. I bet it was at least triple that number.
Most conservative estimate for the cost of the Benghazi hearings is $30 million.

More than $140 million (adjusted for inflation) was spent investigating Bill Clinton.

It doesn't make an impact with us.  Or to the overall budget.  That's not the concern.

It may just provide an acceptable rationalization to fence-sitting Republican voters, though (who to be clear, will gladly claim Benghazi and Bill Clinton expenditures were "justified because those were real, whereas the Trump investigation is just a political witch-hunt."

'Political witch-hunt' doesn't square with actual convictions tho.

That boat mostly sailed with Flynn pleading guilty. Anyone who clings to it at this point isn't actually sitting on any fence, they're on the Jim Jones Koolaid Litmus Test Tour.

It's just another way to make the base feel better about the approximately nine million bad decisions they've made the last few decades. Even then, it's pretty weak sauce.

Trrying to prove Hillary was behind Benghazi? $30 million.

Trying to impeach Bill? 140 Million.

Getting to pass tax laws that appease our corporate overlords, screws the middle/low class and ensures white rich males stay in control? Priceless

Some things money cant buy. For everything else, there is GOP.*

*Does not apply to political witch hunts of GOP Presidents that admit to obstruction of justice, sexual assault and corruption

$6.7 million is trivial when you look at large scale government expenditures.  This shouldn't even be a conversation.

If Mueller started a Kickstarter for the Russia investigation, I bet he'd clear 6.7 million by lunch.

Level 20 award: "President Pence will award you command-control of our nuclear arsenal, including launch codes, for one hour. Please note: Any attempts to fire said nuclear arsenal will be taken as an act of treason against the United States. It's just so you can know what it feels like to have that power." 100 million.

I'm definitely not saying "fuck" Jeff Flake.  I'm pointing out that he had a good opportunity to step up for those in his party who aren't happy with Trump and Moore that would have went a long way.

Breaking:  Don Jr. is a fucking idiot:

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/donald-trump-jr-asked-russian-lawyer-info-clinton-foundation-n826711?cid=sm_npd_nn_tw_np

Quote:

Donald Trump Jr. asked a Russian lawyer at the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting whether she had evidence of illegal donations to the Clinton Foundation, the lawyer told the Senate Judiciary Committee in answers to written questions obtained exclusively by NBC News.

The lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, told the committee that she didn't have any such evidence, and that she believes Trump misunderstood the nature of the meeting after receiving emails from a music promoter promising incriminating information on Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump's Democratic opponent.

Once it became apparent that she did not have meaningful information about Clinton, Trump seemed to lose interest, Veselnitskaya said, and the meeting petered out.
