Hahaha Jeff Flake. COME ON. Jeff Flake is a mildly sassier Lindsey Graham.

if you heard TRUMP was going on Fallon tonight so Jimmy could root around in his mouth and prove he doesn't wear dentures.....  you'd kinda sorta believe it.

Nice John Kricfaulski-esque renderings of the enablers.

I hope Collins regains her spine and reconsiders. I have no faith in McCain. Flake is also untrustworthy, but his donation to Jones, while vain in amount and action, makes him a wild card.

Kill the bill.

Kim Davis, the bigoted county clerk in Kentucky who refused to issue a marriage license to David Ermold and his future husband?

Ermold just filed yesterday to run for her seat in the upcoming election:

The best part is that he filed that paperwork with... the sitting county clerk.

She really shouldn't be in a job that challenges her religious beliefs. She should spend more time with her family/three husbands.

That CNN story that Mondguy linked is worth taking the time to read, if anyone scrolled past it on the previous page.

It sounds very much as if the guy who arranged the meeting between Trump Jr. and the Russians had himself an "oh shit, what have I got myself involved in" moment when the DNC was hacked, just days after the Russians had offered Trump Jr. the goods on Clinton.

That publicist is to speak with the House and Senate Intelligence Committees behind closed doors soon.

Aaaand the Franks thing just got weird:
Quote:
Franks said in his statement that the investigation concerns his "discussion of surrogacy with two previous female subordinates, making each feel uncomfortable." He denied ever having "physically intimidated, coerced, or had, or attempted to have, any sexual contact with any member of my congressional staff."

Who would guess this "discussion of surrogacy" was basically him saying "I wanna put a baby in you. Lemme put a baby in you."

I mean, even if you extend him the benefit of the doubt and assume that it's essentially as he'd apparently like us to think, that's beyond baffling.

While Franks’s statement left the circumstances of the "discussion" murky, three Republicans familiar with the allegations said that he had asked the staffers, who worked for him at the time but have since left his office, if they would serve as surrogate mothers for his children. A spokesman for Franks did not respond to a request for comment on that claim.
In what universe does this even approach being a sane idea...?

Oh, and looks like Blake Farenthold is gettin' investigated. Wonder if he'll challenge this woman to a duel as well.

I wonder if anyone's told Drumpf?

When she was first asked about Trump’s health a week ago, following an earlier episode of slurred speech, the 35-year-old Sanders declared Trump to be in better shape than she was.

“I do know that I spent 12 days on the road with him in Asia, and despite the fact that he’s a little bit older than me, he had twice the energy that I do,” she said. “So I think he’s in pretty good health.”

Translation: "My doctor told me I'm more diabetes than woman!"

Trump, in contrast, appears to ride in a golf cart rather than walk when he plays golf -– even violating course etiquette by driving up onto the green. As president, he has not appeared before press cameras without a jacket -– thereby avoiding unflattering photos of his torso -– even if it has meant wearing a windbreaker at events where the temperature has been in the 80s or 90s, as it was during his post-hurricane visits to Texas and Puerto Rico.

In interviews, Trump has offered an unorthodox view of exercise, explaining that the human body is like a battery, born with a finite quantity of energy, and he did not want to waste any of it on exercise. (Most doctors and other experts disagree with this analysis, and believe that regular exercise is essential for good health, particularly cardiovascular health.)

Sanders is 35????!??!?

She's one year older than me. That's insane. I thought she was 45 easily.

Wasn't it Trump that asked one time why the state of Texas wasted money moving the Alamo into the middle of the city of San Antonio instead of leaving it where it was in the desert? Or was it someone else?

I hope it was him..

Well, with Trump's doctor, I'd wager he's on board with the human body as battery line of thought.

It's also a possibility that Trump saw 'The Matrix' and took the metaphor too seriously.

Love this, but the influence is older than John Kricfalusi.  It has a vibe that evokes the Addams family (and older cartoon-age, Gorey etc) about to wig out into an animated Gerald Scarfe thing.

That "never forget" was for us.  I don't expect much from Fox News viewers at this point.  I talk to them often, and the conversations have somehow continually increased into tinfoil-hat territory.

Sen. Pat Roberts, who represents the Koch Bros. in Kansas, would like to add language to the tax bill that would give tax cuts to those who funnel cash to dark money groups:

http://www.ibtimes.com/political-capital/tax-bill-koch-brothers-senator-pushes-tax-break-dark-money-groups-2625547

Quote:

With Republican megadonors like Charles Koch, 82, and his brother David, 77, advancing in age, a top GOP senator from the Kochs’ home state has proposed a special tax break for moguls who bequeath their riches to so-called “dark money” groups that advocate for policies and bankroll lawmakers’ election ads. Though Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts’ proposal did not make it into the Senate-passed version of the tax bill, it could still be added by the conference committee that will write the final $1.4 trillion tax cut legislation.

Although dark money groups are entitled to conceal the identities of their donors, reporting has shown the Koch brothers are some of most prolific deployers of such groups. Roberts’ proposal would provide a new post-mortem tax break to boost that activity — at a moment when the Republican Party’s biggest donors include septa- and octogenarians such as the Kochs, Sheldon Adelson, 84, Robert Mercer, 71, and Foster Freiss, 77.

Donors from Wichita-based Koch Industries, collectively, have been the number one contributor to Roberts during his career, providing him with more than $186,000 of campaign cash. A Koch-linked super PAC also boosted Roberts with a burst of television ads during his 2014 reelection bid.

Roberts’ proposal was included in a list of amendments considered for the tax bill by the Senate Finance Committee. A spokesperson for the committee told International Business Times that it did not have records of the full text of the amendment, and directed IBT’s request to Roberts’ office, which did not respond to questions about whether he will try to have the language included in the final tax legislation that will come before Congress. If it is included, it could boost groups that seek political influence without transparency.
