We've been maybe walking up to that "let's kill these federal officials" line a bit too much lately, though, now that you bring it up.

What a perfect, succinct and distilled illustration of the two sides this country is separated into.

Someone in favor of protecting the people and preserving what should be natural rights giving an impassioned speech, and the fucking dickfaces on the other side making a snide joke with a shit-eating grin.

Ajit Pai is fucking cunt.

Ajit Pai can go fuck himself. Ryan leaving smacks of cowardice, saving face, and maaaaaybe a connection to the probe.

Oh, and Pence delayed his trip, yet there’s two GOP senators currently in the hospital.
I never wish this on anyone, but if anybody ever deserved a full-fledged blitzkrieg by the doxxers, trolls, and Twitter lynch mobs, it's Ajit Pai. Smarmy little fucker.
Ajit Pai deserves a serious Mr. Robot style cyberhack to his dick.

Don't concern yourself with the Net Neutrality...whether our internet is being throttled will be the least of our worries.

Lindsey Graham: There's a 30 Percent Chance Trump Attacks North Korea

“I don’t know how to say it any more direct: If nothing changes, Trump’s gonna have to use the military option, because time is running out.”

Im gonna be un PC here, givenmy hatred of this fucker:

I hope Ajit Pai fails, is put on trial, jailed, goes bankrupt and ends up working as a 7/11 knock off clerk where he has to deal with Apu jokes for the rest of his life.

Yes, its a bit racist and very politically incorrect, but this fucker being in bed with Trump and his cronies is absolutely disgusting. Just as much as I bet Trump and his racist, supremacist buddies find Prai to be.

He is a greedy, sell out stooge.

Half of them think this is great, because they're racist idiots.

The thinking seems to be that theyre okay with higher internet prices as long as it kicks the poor blacks and commie leftists off the service completely.

The other half is already mourning the loss of their gonzo porno streams.

Nah, we can worry about more than one thing, since there's more than one thing to worry about, but thanks!

Honestly curious-  would your work be as...'concerned' if you had images of the Venus de Milo or David statues displayed on your desktop?

What if you wanted to watch 'Logan' on your computer during lunch.  Violence=OK, naked*=bad.

I ask because it's been awhile since I've worked in an office environment where this was a concern.

*and I'm not talking about HC porn.

Maybe it's simply a conversation they'd rather not have with their boss!

I can assure you I would lose my job or at least face fairly strong disciplinary action for either tatas or Logan being watched on my work computer.

And how dense can you be to have to ask if it's OK to have naked breasts on a screen in a workplace after the last several months?  That's a goddamn hostile work environment sexual harassment complaint waiting to happen.

My God.

Is it so much to fucking ask that people have enough common sense to keep nudity out of common usage threads?  We have a NSFW forum on here for that shit for a reason.

The statues would probably cause less of a stir than a clip from an Eddie Murphy movie.  I may still get a comment about it.  Also if I watched Logan on my lunch break, I would watch it with ear buds with the screen turned where only I could see it.  I work at a pretty conservative court in Texas.

Jesus, I really wish I could change my screen name.

So regarding net neutrality, why didn't the heavy hitters in the tech world go nuclear to raise attention?

Like, facebook and Google go DARK for 48 hours with a banner that says "call your fucking representatives"?

Whose side are they on? They let this happen without a peep, or even a Google Doodle.

Hell, If you work in TX, I would think that they would encourage mandatory watching of the John Wick movies during lunch. :D

Exactly...

The Googles of the world won't 'go dark' because they would lose that days ad money. They are beholden to their advertisers.

It seems like they stand to lose a lot more money if people everywhere are visiting fewer sites, clicking on fewer links.

In this case our fucking representatives don't get any say in it short of pushing through legislation to protect net neutrality (which we know is a non-starter with our current Congress).  This was decided by a panel of 5 non-elected political appointees.

The heavy hitters in the tech world may have already worked out their deals with the big ISPs.  Which probably consists of "The ISPs will just pass all the costs on to the consumers so it's no skin off of Amazon/Facebook/Google."

Fuck you Ajit and the FCC. Washington State will keep net neutrality on its own.

Google let this happen because they're also an ISP and they stand to benefit if they can pay off other ISPs to hobble their competition. Everybody who thinks they can get ahead by fucking over the other guy now that it's allowed is perfectly happy to let it happen, because they're soulless corporations. Simple as that.

You know most bomb shelters are feelgood bullshit, right?  Especially if you live someplace (or near enough someplace) that's likely to get hit?

I read yesterday that Washington State has a mutual combat law.

Between that and net neutrality, I might chance the possibility of being killed by a massive Cascadia subduction-zone tsunami.

Didn't the FCC supposedly draft a regulation that supposedly prohibits states from preserving Net Neutrality on their own?

It's true about mutual combat! Our resident real life superhero/crazy person Phoenix Jones knocked a dude out after said dude agreed to combat. I wont post the link but do a youtube search for Phoenix Jones and it will probably pop up.

I've always found it amusing that some people think that 'blocking' an individual is some sort of 'badge of honor'. IMO, it says more about the 'blocker' than anything else.

FWIW- In my entire time here on CHUD, I have blocked a total of 2 people....and IIRC, one of those was a spammer.

Blocking people is a pretty chickenshit move.

ACLU's made it clear that they plan on fighting net neutrality as well.

Already the lay of the land seems to be that we might be free of seeing actual changes for a little bit, as companies are going to be wary of rolling out new rules or plans while the suits are still going on.

Since I saw your post (Hunter quoted it):

You apparently lack common fucking sense when it comes to the appropriateness of what to post.  If you'd merely said 'oops, sorry!' to the comment regarding the nudity in that video and corrected the issue, that'd be fine.  Everyone makes mistakes.  To dismiss the error as if it's no big deal when many of us are surfing the site from work computers is simply absurd.  It doesn't matter if we all agree that boobs are ok and no big deal...this is considered to be a SFW thread, and most of us 'get' the fact that we don't post NSFW material in here, even if it's fleeting.

FCC will also order states to scrap plans for their own net neutrality laws

The irony of all this is that it's coming from people that go out of their way to trumpet 'states rights'.

Replying to people who just said they blocked you is always funny.
