Yeah, sure, you can get that disc or music on Amazon.  But for those with a taste for physical media who enjoy keeping business local and in the hands of private owners and mom & pops, there are still options left where one can browse, hold and enjoy the tangibility and the artwork in their very own hands.

Whaddya say we start up a database of places where those interested can find such old-school wonders?

I'll start...  List any you know of by city, state, contact info, what have you.  Ratings included are on a four-star scale...

Forgot about this one...

CEX ENTERTAIMENT

Winter Street, Boston Common, no phone

Phones, laptops, videogames and systems, and crazy deals on used DVDs and BLU.  Got MONGOL there the other day for $2.00, basically new.

The Newbury Comics in Norwood, MA is fantastic.  Biggest one of the chain with the best selection.

My favorites:

Amoeba Hollywood (My granddaddy of stores, and the closest you'll get to something the scale of Tower or Virgin anymore)

Twist & Shout - Denver, CO

Rasputin's - Berkeley, CA

Bull Moose - Salem, NH - One of their bigger stores, with vinyl/CD/dvd/bluray/games/books  Went there last year for the first time and was quite impressed.

I frickin' LOVE the Norwood Store. Arcade games at the door when you walk in, listening stations, lots of comfy chairs and space, tons of vinyl and the Lunch Box Deli right next door. The first time I ever walked in, they were playing "Random Access Memories" by Daft Punk and I felt like a kid in the synth-heavy 80s again. Awesome!

And I just made my first Bull Moose order, though I haven't visited a store yet.
