After reading the cover story in Fango last night, I hope what you heard is true.

With a budget that low and a release date in the summer, its sure to make something...

I dont care if they push the release date to 2002, this film will beat our asses.

In the long run this may actually be a good sign. This seems to say that Universal Studios believes they have a horror movie that is good enough to compete with the summer blocksbusters. They're anticipating a major hit. Rob isn't gonna let us down, good people. He's got something special here.

Agreed. He's got something that I hope will be the next great horror movie. Sadly, the reason they are moving it is to side step the release of The Mummy Returns. No faith in a low budget horror flick by a first time director. Dont expect any hype, which is probably for the best.

Hey, the trailer for The Mummy Returns kicks mucho ass.

As long as you liked the first one which I do...

Oh don't get me wrong, I loved the first one, and I'm sure the second will be even better, but they are NOT horror movies. We haven't had a really, genuinely scary horror film in a while, and from what I can tell (which probably isnt much) this will be it.

Strange. What I had heard was that Universal was going to promote it quite heavily, because they believe it will do well.

To sidestep the released of 'The Mummy Returns' does make some sense, since it's going to be a huge movie and probably worth seeing, but pushing it to June is just overkill I think. I was looking forward to this a lot, now we have many months of crappy horror films to look forward to before we get to the good stuff

I bet Universal does do a healthy share of promoting for this film. Since both it and the Mummy sequel are Universal pictures, look for its trailer (hopefully a new one) to be attached to Mummy 2, and this just isn't any first time director they're dealing with here. They know the name Rob Zombie alone is gonna put quite a few asses in theatre seats. Watch for heavy advertising especially on MTV and VH1. House of 1000 Corpses will in good time find its audience and deliver the goods.

Hey, I put that up as soon as I saw where it was from. Just trying to be timely.

Relax my fellow splatterpunks.

Even if the big globe is dumping Corpses, it's better to be dumped in a prime summer slot then in the cold uncaring freeze of January...
