The Misfits

I know, this shouldn't be here. But fuck it, the Misfits have had a lot to do with horror, so get off my nuts. Plus Butane's a fan.

Singer and wannabee Danzig Michale Graves and Drummer and name theif Dr. CHUD have parted company from the current Misfits, Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstien and Jerry Only. Yes, I realize that they sucked without Danzig anyway, but it's still news. This IS NOT the end of the Misfits, a.k.a the coolest band ever, they have the frontman from Ignite singing for them, and from what I have read, it is a return to the Danzig-ish dulcetones of the old days.

This is good news. I am happy. I didnt totally hate the new Misfits anyway. The American Psycho album was flawed, but was still a pretty decent little album. The Famous Monsters album sucked camel ass, but the "Scream" video was nice. As for the whole wrestling thing, well, nevermind.

For more info on this, or just to see some cool shit, head on over to www.misfits.com

It's always amazed me how shitty that website is.

Anyway, I did hate both new albums, though I've known some die hard Misfits fans that like American Psycho. I really really hope the blurb is right about them going back to their roots, cause man was that last album bad. Their "performance" in 'Bruiser' was laughable, since they were all decked like GWAR, but not nearly as cool. They definetly needed a change, and I hope this is a good one.

The stupid bastards can only do one of two things:

1) Hang it up.

2) Realize that aside from Glenn Danzig, I am the only man alive that can front the 'Fits.

And GodDAMN, does Ignite suck!

Last night, I worked my entire shift with a devil lock.

The shitty thing about it is, they probably wont EVER hang it up. They'll always be there shitifying the old Misfits. And yes, Ignite does suck, but from what I can tell, the singer they have now was just a temporary replacement. The good thing is that they are trying to return to the sound they used to have. They will still probably suck, but this is probably the best we can hope for.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go listen to "Skulls".

HAM talks a lot about all the things he can do, and I've seen proof of most of them. Honestly, he could replace Glenn very easily. You should hear him to 'Ghouls Night Out', it brings tears to my eyes.

I know I'm the definate minority here, but I always liked Graves and what was up until a few weeks ago the current version of Misfits. I believe Famous Monsters is a great album. This inevitable break up has been building ever since the WCW debacle. It's well known only Jerry wanted to get involved with pro wrestling and he forced the other guys into it. As for Glenn Danzig, yes they were worlds better when he was their leader, but have you heard anything by him currently? He hasn't put out a good album since Thralldemonsweatlive, and that's been a few years now. Jerry Only won't end the band any time soon, the money he's making off of shirts and merchandising and the Fiend Club alone keeps him living quite comfortably.

Shank-you are wrong.

Demonsweatlive was poorly recorded-so it sucks, too.

He hasn't done anything right since How the Gods Kill.

666 is Un-FUCKING-listenable.

However-the 'Fits Famous Monsters tells me that if someone with testes fronted that band, it wouldn't be so bad.

Daniel Rey and Ed Stasium manned the boards for the Ramones, and they bring that infectious pop feel to the Misfits that Glenn always wanted (when you get right down to it Danzig always wanted the Misfits to sound like the Ramones fronted by the genetic melding of Presley and Morrison) when he was in control.

And thanks for the shout-out Johnny-nice to know that someone'll back me up.

It's nice to see we can agree on one thing on this topic: Danzig's 666 Satan's Child is a piece of shit.

Shank-I was kiddin'. I agree with what you said-I just don't really consider the poorly-recorded live tracks and a few B-sides an album.
I find it ironic that a terribly recorded version of a song older than dirt catapulted a guy into the limelight-and the best stuff he's done is in the past.

Makes me think of Jackie Chan...

Guy does amazing stuff for decades and it's a stale, moldy old buddy-cop flick (I think the script's cover page-the one that said "Yet Another 48 Hours" fell off in transit-that makes it at the US B.O.

Danzig 4 was alright. Lucifuge is the best.

Yes, Lucifuge doth rule, but 4p's lyrical content was too hinged on "cumming in yo' howwl" to be entertaining.

And when did Glenn become Praga Khan?
