So not even leaving Halloween II in the mix? Literally the 1978 film and then a sequel 40 years later?

Yes, that's the plan. Perhaps she won't be his sister but.....im sure she will.

Yea, how would you make it Fraid.. the last we saw of Myers was falling off the balcony.. where would you bring the film from there?
Hopefully the new movie takes place the next day.

Yes! That night aged Laurie all at once.

Since part 2 doesn’t exist, maybe Laurie will get to go to the dance with Steve Tramer. And maybe in this reality he isn’t a weird ass trick or treating 17 year old.

Ben Tramer.

@_@
Well if Jamie Lee is retconned back to not being his sister, I wouldn't even put her in the movie. Was recaptured. Spent 40 years institutionalized...escapes again. Steals blue coveralls and a Chris Pine mask and go back to his old house to recreate that night once again if possible. Hell...I don't know. Halloween II is so ingrained into my brain and I love it so much that it's really difficult for me to not use the end of it as a jumping off point for something more abstract..
I’m drinking. But yeah, Ben.

I was going to Google to make sure I uad his name right, but then thought “Fuck it. If I’m wrong Bradito will correct it.”
What if Ben Tramer framed Michael Myers?!?
They were both wearing the same Halloween costume, after all. What if Michael Myers escaped so he could go Trick or Treating, only to be smashed by a car. Or was it ambulance? Whatever. Michael Myers is the real victim here.

You know?? When you sit back and really digest the concept of having 11 HALLOWEEN movies with 10 of them involving a homicidal supernatural killer like Michael Myers, one has to wonder why they didn't just send this guy over to Vietnam and let him have a field day over there killing people left and right?? Between him and Jason, both of them can't be killed so it makes sense?? I'll wait for this to come to HBO before shelling out good $$$$ for this..

Well, bully for you.
Fraid, I just wanted you to know I loved the Chris Pine joke in your post. It wasn’t for naught!
In my mind, whatever McBride and Green came up with will have to be out of left field to get Carpenter involved.. unless the money was just THAT good.

Plus with the talent of those involved I doubt they would follow a cookie cutter formula.. I am just beside myself waiting for news on the script or first sign of a trailer.
Green has had a somewhat bizarre and frustrating career, but he's undeniably talented. I've been a fan of his since All the Real Girls and will always pull for him, despite a handful of baffling misfires. I'm excited to see what he and McBride can do here.

I'd be impressed if in this version, Michael has been in Laurie's life for a great part of her life after the first Halloween.  Maybe a gardener, quiet clerk, banker?  Someone who's been behind the scenes of her life without integrating himself too deeply to be suspected.  He's literally helped Shape her life after the events of the first film.  A verbose Michael would be the last thing we'd suspect.

Does McBride have a role in this film? I’d be surprised if he didn’t write something for himself or is he that much a fan of Halloween that’d he just stick to writing it and nothing else?

He's playing the great-grandfather of Tennessee Faris.

He's involved because there's a paycheck.  A while back Carpenter's agent suggested he take an exec producer credit on these remakes and sequels of his past films to get paid.  He doesn't give a fuck as long the check clears.

And hes pretty much said that.

Carpenter's always been up front about saying that as long as he gets paid, he doesn't much care what happens with remakes/sequels to his movies.

I do think this movie is slightly different from those other cases, in that he's going to be an active creative participant as composer - assuming that pans out, but he seemed to confirm that recently.

He also may have brought some ideas to the table too. We shall see. If the movie ends up shit, we at least maybe have another Carpenter Halloween score to look forward to.

Carpenter's not that involved with this, guys.  He collects a check to put his name on it.  And for all the talk of him doing the score, it's really going to be his son, Cody.

Goddamn you Shape and your inside track. Can’t you let us live in bliss?!

When H20 first came out, my Mom was convinced that the big twist was going to be that Laurie's boyfriend was actually Michael Myers.

So will this be known as Halloween II, just Halloween, Halloween H40 or Halloween: The Final Friday?

How about "Halloween: Michael Myers Takes Shape?"
Ugh, Brad. That’s a commentary and bonus feature kind of title.

"Halloween: Totally."

They should just call it The Shape Returns.

Halloween: Die Tramer Die

Watching Halloween last night I think my wife got sick of me talking about how big a chump Ben Tramer is.  Seriously, what high school kid goes out and trick or treats alone?

Tramer had his own horror movie going on.
Conal Cochran's grandson starts a new Silver Shamrocks that makes Michael Myers masks and all the kids buy them and then when they view the commercial while wearing the mask they become possessed by the spirit of the now deceased Myers and go on killing sprees. NOW THERE'S ARMIES OF MICHAEL MYERSES!

I know Judy Greer is in her early 40s, but she doesn't look it.  This actress looks a bit mature to be Greer's daughter, even if the real world math works.

Unless they're doing to age-up Greer, I guess.

Well the actor that played her older son in Jurassic World is 22. Doesn’t seem that off.
I like how Bart knows that.
