AARON SORKIN'S MATTER EATER LAD

Walk, talk, and eat!

The DC character for Sorkin to write would be PREZ. Obviously.

Not like an upated version. As he appeared on the 1970s, only transplanted to today. Insufferably smug lectures all around!

Ellen Ripley and Sarah Conner (both wonderful original creations) were several decades ago.  That's too fucking long.

Aaron Sorkin's The Question. 90 minutes of walking and talking about conspiracy theories.

Nope; Sorkin should make Chase.

Essentially a show about the DCU's answer to SHIELD, only its a realist, CIA/FBI like organization that focuses on the metahuman and super powered security issues to the USA.

Also, its leader is a guy whose powers is secreting poison through his skin, whcih also makes everything but his skeleton invisible, and who calls himself Mr Bones.

Really late to the party, but a few out of order remarks:

I stand with Bart in the sparsely populated "excited for this movie" corner.

Love the idea of Batgirl being more akin to Spidey in outlook and tone.

Boone, your long list of male directors was spot on...except for Snyder. You left out 300 and Dawn of the Dead from his CV; they got him the MOS gig which led to the clusterfuck we're in now. His track record with effects-laden epics was pretty strong at that point, much stronger than the other guys you point out.

And yeah, Zathura was essentially how Favs got Iron Man.

Well I think Atomic Blonde is attempting that. Although there is some girl on girl sexy time in the trailer so maybe not exactly what you were looking for.

Whedon had a meltdown? When did that happen?

This never struck me as a film that would actually happen.

"Uh. Maybe can do an Aqua....shit...maybe a Shaz...dammit.....let's reboot Batman again! KA-CHING!"

At this point even the Aquaman movie seems like throwing good money after bad.

I'll watch Aquaman for Dolph Lundgren alone.

Who did they cast Lundgren as? Black Manta? I would have cast him as Solomon Grundy for Luthor's Legion of Doom.

This is painful to watch unfold.

There, there, Freeman. It's not like WB is spending your money to make these films.

That's why I'm super invested in this ship righting itself before it topples over and we all drown!  I have money invested!  Like...  Five movie tickets worth!

FIVE BRADI!

They're sort of the Bizarro Marvel and I love them for it.

You love them for making one bad decision after another? If it wasn't for Wonder Woman the DCEU would have been taken out behind the woodshed and put out of its' misery by now.

You've never had a lover with flaws you loved?

Maybe instead you should keep posting opinions about a movie you haven't watched like a totally sane person.

So how many lovers have you loved besides their glaring unforgivable flaws, Freeman? Please tell us.

Just so you completely realize, you know you're sort of an asshole, right?  Just to completely 100 percent confirm that at least you're self aware about that.

My all or nothing approach to things sometimes rubs people the wrong way, sure. But you need to learn not to take everything so personally when it comes to movies, I had to learn that the hard way a long time ago.

My previous post was dripping in sarcasm and not meant to rub lemon juice and salt in your pretty button eyes, Freem.

Alright, it's cool.  Hug it out.  Squeeze my ass a bit.

Then you go and make it weird. You really do this to yourself, Freem.

Can't understand why Freeman is still single.

Umberto Gonzalez @ The Wrap tweeted: "RUMOR KILLER: Sorry, but the Whedon rumor on superbromovies is not true. Whedon is in the process of writing the script."

SuperBroMovies‏ tweeted: "On behalf of Warner Bros, we have been asked to delete the article on Joss Whedon no longer directing Batgirl, out of respect for the industry and company we will be. They are preparing to put out an official statement as well."

What I'm trying to figure out is when any of this will even get released. There's no way WB/DC can manage three movies a year like Marvel, because they micromanage too much and seem to wait for the reaction to one movie before committing to any new ones.

So looking at the slate, it's Aquaman a year from now and Shazam! and Wonder Woman in 2019, so let's say Suicide Squad 2 and Flashpoint in 2020. Ideally if Batgirl actually happens, WB/DC will release it before The Batman, so let's say 2021 (and a Man of Steel sequel, ideally, also in 2021).

It would actually be a perfect way to introduce a new Batman actor. Have him cameo in costume without taking his mask off.

Or, attempt to position Batgirl as a replacement for Batman in the DCEU and don't do The Batman at all. Release, eh, Green Lantern Corps. and, what the hell, Justice League 2 in 2022, with Batgirl on the team.

If this shitshow is going to move forward, they either need to make some hard decisions or throw everything at the wall and release three movies a year. Marvel has a good balance of releasing direct sequels every two to four years, like Winter Soldier in 2014 and Civil War in 2016, The Dark World in 2013 and Ragnarok in 2017, but anything longer than four years you're pushing your luck. The audience starts to forget this franchise even exists.

I would be fine with this movie not happening and Whedon coming up with his own project. I can see him calling up Hulu or Netflix to create something. I don't mean they should give him a blank check and 100 percent freedom; just have some meetings to see if there is something to could work on together. Tell Joss not to shit where he eats this time too.

Yeaaaaaaaaah.  Burning down his chance of ever doing a Star War really really really seems like it was a bad choice.  He could have been up there with Rian and JJ as the important Star War guys.

He had to go work for "lame Marvel."

WTF you talkin' 'bout Willis?

Whedon made one of the best superhero movies period (It's The Avengers Freeman!). Plus a pretty good, interesting superhero movie (that's Avengers Age of Ultron Freeman).

You can have your nappy Star War!

He pissed off the Disney machine!

He's DUN in this biznuss yisssss yiss he is!

And that’s a shame. Because when he keeps away from the debutantes and off Twitter, dude knows how to helm a film of any size. Rewatched his Much Ado with commentary and it was a lot of fun to explore how he put it together.

If Whedon was going to write and direct another IP/tent pole movie I would like to see it be Tom Hiddleston's first time playing James Bond.

He just learned out to direct with Age of Ultron. Before that the stuff he did direct looked like bad tv, with the tv stuff looking like bad tv without a budget. Having said that, him seemingly having some understanding of how to direct now means I'd actually be interested in seeing him do something now. Although someone needs to keep him under control, because while he seems to have learned how to direct with Age of Ultron, that movie has a lot of fat it didn't need.

Haven't seen Much Ado About Nothing, but from the trailer it looked like someone's crappy home movie shot in their backyard with some friends. Wasn't surprised when someone told me later it was something he just shot in his backyard with some friends.

Sounds like you got quite a bit more from my post than I get from yours. Usually all I get from your post is: I'm trying to be funny but humor is a language I don't understand.

Awwww I hurt your feelings!

Guys I hurt Kate’s feelings! I’m so proud.

Shit, if I say you didn't hurt my feelings you'll only think you did hurt my feels. Just like when I said I wasn't Kate that meant I must be Kate.

It’s OK Kate I won’t block you. If I don’t block Barry I won’t block Dr. HartsimKateBOB the third of... its name.

I wish the crappy stuff I write could win me Emmys and have me working on the biggest pictures ever.

Maybe it’s all that punctuation. Too many commas and stuff.
