Colts should be able to get their second win Sunday.  Unless Wilson bulks up on nanobubbles*

*secret ingredients?  Steroids and amphetamines.

If the Colts beat them in Seattle, then the Seahawks are officially over.

You know what sucks?  I really wanted to quit watching football this year.  Just boycott it.  And the way the Giants are playing, man it would be so easy to just not watch anymore.  Then Trump had to go screw it up for me.  now I feel like it's my moral obligation to watch football.  And that damn bridge troll Jerry Jones kneeling?!?  That asshole can;t go doing things that I support!  Dude has no qualms keeping a woman beater on the team in order to win games.  I'm so conflicted!!!

I'm certainly no Cowboys fan (though I do enjoy watching them play) but I would argue that Jerry Jones isn't the demonic seed people think he is. Yes, having someone like Greg Hardy wasn't such a good idea, but he gave him a chance and it just didin't work out.

Moreover, I think NFL players in general get a bad rap from the American public overall. They play such a violent sport people assume they must all be animals. The vast majority of NFL players are smart, articulate, educated, family men who do a mulititude of charity and altruistic work. I'd wish the NFL and the ESPNs of the world did more to expose people to who these guys are when they're not on the football field.

These guys all have at least the opportunity to get exposed to a college education, and many of them come from disenfranchised backgrounds from which we don’t see a lot of people emerge with th kind of platform to promote issues like they have. A lot of these ‘pampered, entitled’ athletes grew up in abject poverty surrounded by crime and absolutely know what it is to truly struggle.

Hahaha, I was just coming here to post almost the exact same thing!

I've stopped watching because the game has grown boring, but now if someone asks, I'm going to pretend I'm still watching each week just to avoid the implication that I might be skipping it for dumb or evil reasons.

Of course, I don't think for a minute that these whiny morons are going to boycott a damned thing. These are people who think being patriotic means doing LITERALLY the least you can possibly do. A guy kneeling in protest makes them uncomfortable; there's no way they can handle the discomfort of a Sunday with their family and no football.

Indeed, I couldn't imagine having to spend Thanksgiving with my family and not having football to have on in the background simply to "get away".

Tony Romo is awesome in the booth. It's like he's watching the game at home.

Mercy rule already? Wow.

The last thing this fucking game needed was a weather delay.

Don't ask me how but Bears have turned the ball over twice in their locker room.

Throw that dirty Bear out of the league.

That was some horrific shit. Hoping for the best for Adams.

Conscious, has feeling and movement in his extremities. He was out on the field, so I'm guessing at least a concussion, and they're checking him for head and neck injuries.

Yeah... You can be alert and have feeling in all extremities and still have potential damage.

The NFL needs a targeting rule. That's one thing they should take from the NCAA.

Romo has been shockingly great as a color man, if just a little rough in parts, though I know he'll smooth that out as he gets more comfortable.

If you could get him and Gus Johnson in the same booth? I think my tv would explode.

This is so true.  Didn't watch the game last night, but caught one he was doing last week.  I didn't realize it was him at first, but when I hear a commentator start yelling "Call time out!  Call time out!" my ears pricked up.  He was also at times saying where a QB should throw the ball.  I was like "Who is this guy?  Nobody does that during commentary."  I laughed out loud when I saw it was Romo.

Watching people burn season tickets that they've already paid for is really, really funny.

Romo's really good. At one point last night he said "It feels like the 7th quarter!" and I nearly spat out my booze.

Adams, man. Christ. I hope that never happens to me.

Guess who's back? Back again? Devildoubt. Tell your friend.

Ohhh shiiiiiit!

Who is that guy and why was he banned?  All I know is I have him on ignore for some reason, but I only remember the name.

Johnny banned him for saying something negative about Harley Quinn cosplayers and not apologizing.

But now he's back, so cosplayers beware!

I just saw a headline on one of those British tabloid sites the other day about a female cosplayer who visited a "wealthy individual" on a private island and ended up drowned.  Hopefully Devildoubt doesn't own any islands.

Was she dressed like Harley Quinn?

I woke up early for this?

Yeah, this game is awful. Totally unexpected from football powerhouses like the Saints and Dolphins.

Or were you talking about DT and Bailey's conversation about why Bailey has me on ignore?

Well, every fantasy pundit was saying "start all your Saints and Dolphins because this will be a fantasy shootout lol" so I guess the former.

Pretty psyched for the Bengals-Browns game.

I guess our one week of exciting football is officially over.

I started Landry because switching him out for Fitzgerald felt like I'd be chasing points.

I'm an idiot.

Ha! Texans Titans game. They get a choir of disabled children to sing TheBrassTap Natl Anthem. It’s like the NFL is saying “We dare you, motherfuckers. We dare you to kneel to a choir of disabled children.”

Could all the disabled children stand?

Also Jags are bad again. It's like a rollercoaster dragged out 17 weeks long.

Hot Take: I like the Rams's helmets.
Hot take: Devildoubt is actually a blind man.
From the always lovely Rachel Nichols, “Jags-Jets overtime” seems like something you threaten your kids with when they misbehave"

Were they ever good? Either way you lose to the Jets you are trash.

Weird NFL season so far. I love that the Browns and 49ers passed on Watson who looks legit. The Rams are the highest scoring team in the league. Buffalo is suppose to be tanking and are 3-1.

But the Browns, Bears, AFC South are still horrible. I take comfort in that.

Damn Falcons. At least the Panthers beat The Evil.

How many times do I have to see Matthew McCounaghy get all dressed up to go ride around in his Lincoln.

What an ending to that 49ers/Cardinals game. The only TD scored is the game winning one in OT.

You doing okay, DT ?

Nice to see the Vikes return to form.

I think Sam Bradford needs to seriously consider retirement, especially after paying a visit to the doctor no athlete wants to visit. Dr. James Andrews.

People have been saying that for seven seasons now.

Let's be honest, at least half the quarterbacks in the NFL should consider retirement.

Dalvin Cook is out for the season with a torn ACL.  Shit.

Well enough. I actually picked the Niners to win this week. We're pretty well fucked anyway, so this season is basically a wash and the disaster before a complete rebuild. We're out of bodies for the offensive line, so we're signing people off other teams' practice squads. Palmer can't stay on his feet because there's literally no talent in front of him -- Veldheer was moved back to his blind side, but he's mentally checked out since the CTE study during the offseason. He's on roller skates every single play, refusing putting himself on the line to get the job done. DJ Humphries is clearly a bust, but no one is willing to say it.

Our receiver corps are smaller than the Corners they go against, so they're getting beat all the time and Palmer doesn't have the time or the awareness to put it where it needs to be to give them a fighting chance. Defense was okay, but they can't tackle for shit anymore, and Tyrann Mathieu won't ever be 100% again, physically or mentally. That much is clear.

That, coupled with a complete unwillingness to make adjustments or accept that our playbook is shit now, makes for a bad team. Arizona is looking at several years of trying to get the right pieces together to be competitive again, because we lack them in basically every aspect of the squad from the top down.*

Next season, we'll likely have a new QB, a slap-dash offensive line, a shitty defensive coordinator who still has a job somehow, an even worse special teams coach who's out of his depth, and no Larry Fitzgerald to anchor everything and keep some sort of fire going. No idea as to whether or not we'll still have Bruce Arians, but Michael Bidwill is a shrewd businessman, and I'm sure he sees the sharp decline in his coaching.

*The only silver lining is that the Seahawks look like a mess, too. The NFC West is straight up the Rams' for the taking this year.
