Is it confirmed? Last I read, the MRI results were pending. That's just horrible news for both him and Houston.

Fucking great QB having an unbelievable rookie year. Seems like a really good kid, too.

Damn.  Awful, awful news.  Even puts a damper on the World Series celebration.

It's confirmed.

The least important aspect of this: Jacksonsville's the favorite in the AFC South now, right?

Oh goddamn.  I'm done.  Out.  This season can eat a bag of dicks.

Glad the Cardinals didn’t draft Watson! The best ability is availability and he just can’t stay on the field!
Terrible News, this happens less than a week after the owner’s prison comment. Coincidence??? Universe works in mysterious ways that’s for sure.

And they’re bringing in Matt Mcgloin ( sp) instead of Kapernick for Christ sake!!

So... anyway, here's a video.

So how many teams does that make that are tanking potential playoff runs to punish the black guy?

By my count:

Miami

Houston

Arizona

Green Bay (bonus points for tanking a potential Super Bowl run)

Plus another 6+ teams for whom Kaepernick would represent a clear upgrade over the glue-bucket they toss out on the field every week. But really, if I were a fan of a team faced with that choice, I'd care a lot less about the player drawing criticism for a political statement than the team tossing away a season for one.

The Watson news sucks. Not only is this season over but he should be out for at least half of next year as well. AP was an anomaly and I don’t think guys should come back before a year. Considering his position and how his elusiveness was part of his game he should take his time.

How are the Jets winning???
Thursday Night Football exists in a slightly different reality and we're able to see it via a transdimensional portal that never fully closed when Goodell made his deal with Ogdru Jahad to become commissioner.

IF THE PLAYOFFS WERE TODAY:

AFC:

Division winners: Patriots, Steelers, Titans, Chiefs

Wild card: Bills, Jags(!)

I'm took lazy to look at tie breakers, so first week of playoffs would be Chiefs vs. Jags, Titans vs. Bills

NFC:

Division Winners: Eagles, Vikings, Saints, Seahawks

Wild card: Rams(!), Panthers

1st week of playoffs: Saints vs Rams, Seahawks vs. Panthers OR Saints vs Panthers, Seahawks vs. Rams (Saints and Seahawks are both 5-2 right now, as well as the Rams, but Panthers are 5-3)

And fucking A about Watson. That truly sucks. Hopefully it wasn't nearly as bad as Bridgewater's injury.

It sounds like it's your run-of-the-mill cal, so nowhere near Bridgewater's, where there was fear hed lose his leg.

It's a sign of how electric Watson is that all I've seen are articles about how his injury impacts a moribund league.

Love him or hate him if Brady goes down, the NFL has officially lost its biggest stars- I guess you can throw in Cam Newton.

Brady going down right after trading Garropollo (sp...like I care) would make this season for me.  Mostly by screwing Pats fans AND the NFL.  Win-Win.

Packers just lost their long snapper. Expect Monday to be a real shit-show for not only offense but special teams too.
So I plunked down for tickets to the 49ers Cardinals game tomorrow. Why? Because I hate myself.

This is fun though. The wife and I got two club level seats, 50 yard line, at one of the newest, most state of the art stadiums in the NFL...and they cost us 200 bucks, total.

People have checked out up here...
You should loudly and frequently ask when they're going to bench that other guy and put Kaepernick back in.
I’m going to do what I can to not get stabbed.
You're going to Levi Stadium, where stabbings are a foregone conclusion. You might as well try to enjoy the experience prior.
I’m actually most worried about the walk from the parking lot to the stadium. I’m reasonably sure people in the club aren’t going to assault me, but the crazies going to the cheap seats...those cats are like the Beserkers in Nightbreed.
You should dress in neutral colors and walk quickly with purpose and without making any eye contact.

I’m planning on wearing a hoody. And Cardinals red matches 49ers red, so I’m probably good.

My wife is wearing her Fitz jersey and she’s a hothead. So my afternoon will end at the hospital or in jail.

One thing that I've wondered (because I don't care either way) do people that loathe the Patriots hate them because of Brady and Belichek ? Or do they hate them just because its the Patriots? If its a hatred of Brady and Belichek then you may be in luck over the next couple of years, the word is that with the Pats trading Jimmy G. (Belichek had to sign off on it) it means that Belichek might be done when Brady is done. Belichek figures that he's got 2 maybe 3 years left with Brady, he'll try to win another SB then walk away when Brady does. That's the only way the trade makes sense. If he was planning on being there for the Jimmy G. Era there's no way the trade happens.

The Pats weren't anything before Brady/Belicheck got there....I mean, they weren't the 80s Bucs but they were a "just there" franchise - not really great or terrible, generally trucking along in the middle of the pack.

But now, I think the B/B success has tarred them as a "hatable" franchise - just like people hate the Cowboys no matter who the QB, coach, or owner might be.

Holy crap I wonder what shit talking Jalen Ramsey was saying to AJ Green.

Lord save from the Falcons today. Yeesh.

Yeah, looks like I made the right choice going to EPCOT instead of staying home to watch the Bucs game.

Tampa Bay has to be one of the most disappointing teams this season, you can throw the Giants in there as well.

There was talk of the Bucs not only winning their Division but going pretty deep in the playoffs, ditto NYG. The good news: it looks like both these teams will end up with pretty high draft picks.

Evidently a lot. Still, Ramsey getting ejected too is unmitigated bullshit. He shoved him and that’s it. Flag him for unsportsmanlike but he did nothing even remotely close to what AJ Green did.

Ramsey said ref told him he was ejected because he "thought" he threw a punch. Lol. Sure guy. That's why you're a ref right, so you can think you saw things.

Given the number of coaching regimes we've been through, I'm starting to wonder if our ownership is cultivating an atmosphere of indifference.

So many brawls and so many ejections today.

Some of it I feel is the state of the league coming to a head. Some of it is Jameis Winston being a fucking moron.

It’s really hard for someone to make me like them less than Cam Newton, but he’s certainly doing his best.

Coming off the sideline like that is bad enough, but you’re the franchise QB and you have an injured throwing shoulder.

That’s a good comparison for that team, though I suspect I think so for different reasons than Cam.

Giants' coach McAdoo asked what he told his team at halftime - https://twitter.com/AndyJ0seph/status/927323898143653888

A real leader of men, that guy.

How does Seattle always play down to their opponents?  That game was a farce.

And yet the NFC west is still very close. Even the Cardinals could turn things around at this point.

Mike Evans suspended one game.

AJ Green gets nothing.

All I read and hear about  AJ Green is that he's a real quiet guy who rarely if ever shows emotion. This was out of character for him.

I'd say his blow up yesterday had more to do with his frustration of being a member of the Bengals his entire career.

I guess the rationale is that Green was ejected and already missed a game, while Evans was not.....yeah.

As someone who owns Green in fantasy, huzzah!!!
God, Hundley is bad.
So he's bad, but better when they go hurry-up.

God, McCarthy is bad.

I honestly thought the Packers still had a chance to salvage the season after Rodgers went down. Jesus, what the hell was I thinking. Play for a higher draft pick Green Bay, cause you ain't going anywhere this season.

It's amazing to me that Green Bay's front office hasn't considered McCarthy as exposed as a fraud. There was even an infographic during the game last night that showed McCarthy's win record with each quarterback under his tenure. Great numbers with Favre and Rodgers - who QBs who run the offense from the line of scrimmage and keep the team together. Fucking abysmal numbers with any other QB where he actually has to coach and call plays.

I'll have to Google his salary. He must work for cheap barbecue and cheese curds.

I think they're very comfortable with McCarthy. I don't know his contract situation either, but I tend to agree that he may past his expiration date.

I'll repeat what's come up in this thread before: Rodgers' prime years are going in a hurry. I know he has a SB win, and they were in the NFC title game last year, but when you have someone this good at their position, should have multiple SB rings. I just want Rodgers to get at least one more SB win and tie P. Manning, 3 would be even better. Crazy that P. Manning, who lost more times in the playoffs than he won,  has more rings than Rodgers.

Favre and Rodgers' greatest strengths? Making a play after the play breaks down. Which has happened A WHOLE HELLUVA LOT.
