But I think if people are comparing ring counts, they should take into account that Joe wasn't afforded the longevity of the modern QB. His four rings are as impressive as Brady's five, in my opinion.

Its 4-0 over 10 yrs as opposed to 5-2 over 16....when it comes down to it, I'm completely cpmfortable giving the other side their choice and taking the guy who they don't want.

That’s all I got. I, just, you know, hadn’t written in anything in a while.

I met Joe Theismann walking thru the Vegas Airport, and it amazed me that he was about my size, if not shorter. He even stopped and came back to shake my hand when I called his name.

Did you pronounce it Theesman?  I bet he loves that.

If were talking about NFL player encounters I have one. Years ago when I was doing catering gigs in my 20s, I worked the Survivor wrap-party for CBS and Eddie George ( who I believe either he or his wife was a contestant on the show) and I stood next to each other at the men's urinal. He's about my height- 5'9" -5'10" ish. No, I didn't look, but it was a very Larry Davidesque moment.

I met Bernie Kosar after a preseason game between the Cardinals and Dolphins in the early 90s. He signed my ticket. Nice guy.

My mom chewed out Dan Fouts.

Moved to Nashville in '97, didn't know anybody, and that fall I was at a bar called Havana Lounge having a drink while some swing dancers (NINETIES!) were on the dance floor. I look over, and this other guy's nursing his drink by himself, looking bored. It was Steve McNair. The Oilers had just moved to town, and nobody there had the slightest clue who he was. He finished his drink, got up and left.

EDIT: OH, also! In '93 I was at a bar called Out of Bounds because they served underage people, and Peyton Manning and Trey Teague (center, ended up going to the Broncos) are there. I walk into the bathroom, Peyton's at the urinal:

"you're Peyton Manning right?"

"Yes."

"Okay, well I'm too drunk to give a shit."

He laughed.

The picks are in! It's actually under an hour, but the latest update to Premier Pro CC fucking sucks, and Youtube inexplicably removed their clip editor, and it takes two goddamned hours to upload and process, so I'm not doing that shit over. Anyway, enjoy!

Also a bonus video where go a little more in-depth on Eli Manning being benched.

Did you meet him before or after he had started talking like Mushmouth from Fat Albert?

Dude I was a total dick when I was 10. Would that I had the chance to meet Bernie again and show him the man I've become since.

DT, we all have a Bernie Kosar we’d like to meet again. But it’s never going to happen. So stay with me. Stay in the present sad clown, and we’ll make it through. Together.

I'm watching the video now--and you guys started out on fire by picking Washington. Lol. But seriously, who knew?

I'm gonna find Bernie, tell my story via documentary, and sell the rights to Netflix.

Man... Everyone thought Dallas was going to lose by at least 10 points. I don't know where the hell that energy came from. Morris alone looked like a man possessed, and that offensive line is back to early season form.

It also helped that, for whatever reason, Washington lost their groove early on and never recovered. Had Crowder caught that early pass at the goal line instead of flipping it into the defense's hands, I think the rest of the game would've gone very differently.

Washington lost Morgan Moses early and had guards playing tackle. Cousins was running for his life most of the night.

PLEASE COME TO JACKSONVILLE KIRK. WE PROMISE OUR LINE WILL BE MARGINALLY BETTER

I think I see Manning going to Jacksonville - which would actually be great for you guys. Manning would reunite with Coughlin, prove that McAdoo is a shitgoblin who should never work again, and you guys would have a good QB with a solid team that could help develop a draft pick.

Cousins? I have no fucking idea where he goes, but I almost guarantee he's not staying in Washington. There are plenty of struggling teams with cap space that would fork over the cash to have him under center and I think he'll be the belle of the ball come free agency.

I'd take him in Arizona, honestly. I'd rather draft a top three QB and rebuild like the Rams and Eagles did because it's better for the future, but whatever. That toss Cousins made to Crowder while diving last night was Rodgers-esque. Dude has shown flashes of greatness and in a franchise he's happy to be in with a front office that backs him, I could see him doing good things.

Yards 395-276.  FIrst downs 26-15.  Hundley throws for 85 yards.  And the Bucs still lose.  Winston played like a total idiot at times today.

Who do they get to lose to in the first round of the playoffs?

Serious answer: They will be favored against any first round opponent because they won't get a bye. So they should - should - win the first game.

Kneejerk answer: Screw you.

Meanwhile, Kansas City continues its historic campaign to miss the playoffs after starting 6-0.

I haven’t seen seen that much squandered potential since the last time I looked in the mirror.

Even funnier, one of their the defensive back threw a yellow flag into the stands after he got called for a penalty late in the game. The guy who caught it of course was taking a thousand pictures of it along with the people around him. No idea if he needs to give it back.

Number 1 seed after this Eagles game is over. Eagles are finally getting exposed. Have played shit teams all season to get to 10-1. Meanwhile, Vikes have beat Atlanta, Rams and Saints.

Oh hey guys looks like Blaine Gabbert isn't the QB of the future after all.

Most home teams will be favored. Looking like they will lose to the Raiders, Chargers, or Ravens. Chargers/Jags would be funny.
Looks like the Giants are cleaning house. McAdoo is out, and so is the Giants' GM.

Funny how scapegoating and benching a two-time champion QB didn't work out the way anyone expected.

Chris Pratt raised the 12 flag, and the Seahawks won, and the 12 flag is good now.

Oh and the refs were incredibly easy on Seattle, so that Monkey's Paw still has a finger or two left.

I want to see Evans, in full Cap gear, kick off the a Patriots' pre-game.

Pratt and Evans had a fun rivalry/bet going when the Seahawks and Patriots were in Super Bowl XLIX.

Looks like the AFC South is down to the Jags and the Titans. Tennessee looks terrible for about 2/3 of every game, but somehow they're 8-4. The Titans' roster is talented enough to win despite of Mike Mularkey, not because of him. I hate MularkeyBall.

Here's something funny. So, the Chiefs have been real shit. All these dumb plays, trick plays, one dimensional offense and it's been a real struggle since the beginning of the season.

Yesterday, Andy Reid relinquished play calling to his offensive coordinator. Didn't call a single play, himself.

And... guess what. Alex Smith throws for 366 yards and four touchdowns. He ran for another 70. Tyreek Hill explodes with 185 yards and a pair of scores. Kelce is back on the scene with two touchdowns and almost a hundred yards.

It might - just might - be time to hang it the fuck up, Andy.

Jaguars fans (yes there are dozens of us) absolutely are beside themselves that the Titans keep pulling out these games. It is very reminiscent of the Kyle Orton-driven Bears and Bills teams that somehow went 9-7 though you really don't understand how.

And yes, I know one of those years was for Marrone.

Reid is/was a great coach. But maybe he's out of touch now, and the league has outgrown him. It happens -- look at Arizona, and how fast it happened here.

But holy shit... look at the vast difference in performance once Reid stepped aside.

When they were 5-0, their offense was #3, I believe?

And they have not had a losing season since he's been there.

I endured years of pure garbage under Herm, Haley, and Crennel, so I'm not going to write him off because of one lousy season.

Next year they get Berry back, and we'll see what Mahomes can do with Hill, Kelce, and Hunt. It'll be fine and they'll rebound.

Plus, they're still in first place...

One lousy season that could still turn out to be a lousy 1/3 of a season, to be fair.

To also be fair, there's no way an extended spiral like KC has seen doesn't land at the head coach's feet to a very large degree.

Bills fans have started a tradition of voicing their displeasure by throwing dildoes on the field.

Point to Buffalo.

That's what I'm saying. The team spirals, and they recover when the head coach removes himself from the situation.

Anyway, I hope Shazier is alright. The fact that there hasn't been any updates is not a good sign...

Getting penetration has been a problem for the Bills defensive line all season.

Word on Shazier is a spinal contusion. They won't know the extent until swelling goes down, but they're confident he won't need surgery.

In case anyone had any doubt who was going to win between Goodell and Jones, Goodell's huge contract extension has gone through, and Jones has been removed as a (non-voting) member of the committee that makes those decisions.

Sashi Brown fired as Browns' personnel director.

Maybe a good idea, since the only good player he drafted was the obvious #1 pick.

Ogbah has shown tlashes, and Njoku is raw but promising. Passing on Wentz looks even worse now, though, despite the fact that I think Wentz would be having much less success in Cleveland.
