I do not deserve you people. - Page 3

Every time I open that Go Fund Me page it makes me think of this:

This really is the best group of people on the internet.

Glad you reached out and glad to be able to help you out, Jacob.

I go to take a relaxing dump and then go see a matinee, and I almost miss out on the fundraiser!

Wonder Woman was recommendable, by the way. That's another thread, though.

It almost passed me by too!

BOOM

DONE

Jacob, you really are the best.

I'm so pleased to hear you're doing better and I hope the Gofund shows how much people think of you.

There's a guy in Wales who thinks you're the bees knees.

That guy in Wales should get on the fucking Lions thread.

So glad to read this thread. To hear that Jacob is safer, to see that there's a way to help.

J.S.

~ A couple years ago I'd lost my long time retail job, despite great creds. couldn't get anything but min-wage jobs, had to give up tiny apt of 25 yrs as I couldn't afford it. Then faced race (I'm white) and age (I'm 63) discrimination in looking for jobs and house/apt sharing. It really looked like I was going to wind up homeless, and I really drew the line there. I too reluctantly put up a go-fund-me plea, mentioning my final options as garage building fall or 3rd rail on subway, but only posted the  webpage link on my Chud signature. Chud responded big time and very probably saved my life, certainly made it a brighter tomorrow.

~Don't take the fund me page down. It will peter out eventually, but it won't hurt to leave it.

~It gives you the option of posting thank you's to contributors. Do it.

~You'll want to buy thank you gifts for those that you have addresses of.  NO.  Make some cool thank you cards (shutterfly.com) and send those instead. They'll be nice keepsakes money couldn't buy and great therapy fer you.

~Thanks for stickin around, you old poop...

So glad you're still with us Jacob. Being so honest with what you're going through is incredible. I can only hope that you know you are not alone out there. All of us care for you and are here for you.

Got into this thread late.  Just tossed in my share. (Thank you for keeping the gofundme page open longer).

And Jacob...

Stick around.

It's passed the $3000 mark. I think it's time to pull the plug, so to speak. I'm simply overwhelmed.

If you need the help, you keep it up. Don't let the bad thoughts cloud your financial reality.
Jacob please keep it up, a poster up thread mentioned he was between paydays and wanted to help, I'm sure he speaks for more than just himself.
Be overwhelmed with life and love and joy and knowing that everything will be good and great and all that stuff..

I'm with Slim and McIrish. You need the help and there are people who haven't been able to contribute yet but want to, or haven't even seen this thread yet.

Yeah. Leave it up..

Adding to the requests to leave it up.

I get paid on a monthly basis, so I'd respectfully suggest keeping it up as well.
Seriously Jacob. I know it's overwhelming, but people want to give. Don't feel bad about that. If we didn't want to we wouldn't. This is just a testament to how awesome everyone thinks you are.

Don't fight it, man.

I would like to give again after my next payday as well.

That's what you get for being such a splendid sonofagun.

Thanks for leaving it up Jacob.

No matter what, us degenerates will always have your back. Much love, brother.

To quote a favourite of mine; "It can't rain all the time". As rough as things may feel, I know all too well from experience that things CAN and WILL get better.

I don't post or spend as much time here as I used to so late seeing this. But hearing from you, Jacob and seeing the support from the gang has put a smile on my usually glum mug.

If I wasn't broke I'd be chipping in,too. You're worth it.

Folks, the FundMe hit 3500 today. I have now turned off donations. That's all I can cope with. I can't begin to thank all of you for your wonderful support. I can guarantee you the money will be put to good and proper use. I've seen a couple of super- rare Star Wars collectibles on Ebay that I have my eye on...

Seriously, I don't think you guys know what you've done for me. You've quite literally saved my life. Every single one of you is a hero. I've never felt more determined or more resolute about living a good life and earning your goodwill. Between you guys and my family, I'm getting stronger and happier every day. The darkness that was in me two weeks ago isn't completely gone, I haven't been 'born again' or anything, but I know I can beat it now. And I'm also determined to pay this forward as best I can.

You didn't just save a life. You made a better person out of me.

Thank you all.

I hope you know how much you've done for all of us, just by being you.

It is awesome to read that (your determination). Just wanted to caution you against pressuring yourself to feel great and grateful all the time. No one can do that. Give yourself permission to feel tired or down (without giving up). Give yourself permission to be human, my friend.

Keep that determination - not as a feeling, but a decision. We're here for you. As are your friends and family there.

Seconded.

We love you Jacob, and we'll be here for you, through thick and thin. The good times and the bad. Seeing you doing better is the best news I'll get all week.

I don't know why seeing Jacob making jokes makes me so happy, but it does.

Holy shit...we have CROOOOOOOOOOOOW sign!

Good to see you, Justin.

Yeah, good to see you Justin!

Jacob, I hope you think of this thread next time you're starting to feel sad, and that you remember how you have people who think you're awesome, not just across all of the states in America but across the world. And I hope that one thought makes you smile again.

I don't want to undermine Jacob's wishes, but if anyone still wants to give, I happen to know he will use gift cards from Kroger. ;) He can buy groceries and fuel from there. (Maybe also prescriptions?)

Thanks for letting us help a little, Jacob. It may seem astronomically generous to you, but it's the least we could do. Many of us would do so much more if we could.

Finally, I am sorry to hijack your thread, sir, but I wanted to say thank you to the individual that emailed me a couple of weeks ago to let me know that a chewer was struggling. You know who you are. I would have had no clue that such a wonderful person was hurting. Witnessing the response to the situation, and the truly humble way Jacob received it has made me so proud to have once been involved in this incredible community. I deeply admire and respect every one you.

Be strong, Jacob. You have my email if you ever need anything.

Play some pinball, Jacob! Us old guys on the boards need to stick around if only to set the yung'uns straight. Hang in there, brother. Let me know if I can do anything for you.

Glad you're in a better place, mate. Apologies for not contributing (am flat broke) but if there's anything I can do, just ask. You're a champ, and have done so much for all of us just by being around that it's only natural that we would have your back. You deserve it and then some, good sir.

You're a champion Jacob Singer.

You know where to come any time you need some more of that tape.
