2017-2018 NFL Fantasy Football season - Page 3

I got good problems in fantasy today. A pretty stacked team with favorable match-ups and a soft opponent this week. But I can't choose.

Should I triple up on Cleveland or hedge my bets?

I can play Delanie Walker (vs CLE) or Zack Miller (vs CAR). Walker is questionable and was limited in practice all week, but Cleveland can't cover TEs. Miller's found the endzone twice in the last two weeks, and he's a security blanket for Trubisky.

I can play Derrick Henry against Cleveland and hope he gets more touches than Murray, who's injured. Or I can play J-Stew against that Bears defense.

Wide Receivers, too! Rishard Matthews is the #1 target for Tennessee and dat Cleveland defense tho. But I also got lucky and landed Sanu who could be a favorable target in a shootout against NE.

Help me maximize and go 6-1!
I’d go Walker over Miller, Matthews over Sanu (he’s playing but was limited all week and I worry the hamstring will limit his snaps this week) and Henry over Stewart (Murray was limited with a hamstring so I think Henry will get more work than usual).

I'm going Walker and Henry, but I've decided on Adams (GB) over Matthews.

Every time Rodgers gets hurt, Jordy's production drops. Plus, Jordy gets favored for those tricky throws only Rodgers likes to make.

I feel like Adams could end up being Hundley's favorite dependable target. And after NO gave up all those TDs last week when they had the lead, I'm not scared of their defense.

Except for the Dolphins/London game, the Saints defense has been more about sacks/turnovers during the win streak than shutting anyone down. Adams is the smart play there for sure. Green Bay will get some yards and points, but I’m expecting/hoping they get a few turnovers off Hundley in his first start to make up for it.

Well, there was no right choices this week. I'm 37 points down with Brady and Gostkowski to go. Other guy is tapped out.

38 points tonight is really not impossible, if this turns into the shootout it totally could be.

Holy shit I was down 25 FP and ended up winning by 0.26 FP in my $$ league. I'm tied for first with a team that has Zeke Elliott, so I can only hope by the time the playoffs are here, he's suspended again. This is the same league where myself and another guy have ended up in the finals 2 years in a row--that other guy is 2-5 right now.

So, Derrick Henry is definitely droppable at this point. Is there a more worthless (in terms of Fantasy) RB2 in the league right now?

Watching the Titans try and push him into the A-gap at the goal line three times on Sunday was infuriating.

The CHUD Yahoo League is hilarious to me--I got auto-drafted in that league because I had no idea when the draft happened, and I consider it my weakest roster. Yet somehow I'm 5-2 with my QBs of Winston and Alex Smith (picked up from FA), my RBs of Jordan Howard, Gordon, Marshawn Lynch, and Chris Thompson (who I got from FA), and my WRs of Hopkins, Sanders (who is currently hurt), Sanu, Torrey Smith (FA), and Devin Funchess (FA), and TEs Jordan Reed and Austin Sefarian-Jenkins (FA).

I'm this close to changing my team name to BYE WEEK, because that's what I've pretty much ended up being.

The "out for the season" team would kick the shit out of any fantasy league team right now. Except, of course, they'd have to play to score points.

I do listen to Sirius XM Fantasy from time to time on my daily commute and they were running down the rankings of the top players at each position today. Carlos Hyde is the seventh-best RB in the league right now. If you polled 100 fantasy players, and said "Is Carlos Hyde a RB1?" they'd all say no. It's just been that wacky of a year.

Up 15 points. I've got Tyreek Hill (who, if his season continues the way it is, will have an off night...), and the other guy has the Kansas City defense and Kicker.

If not for Mark Ingram's two fumbles and the refs inexplicably overturning poor Zack Miller's touchdown, I'd be in better shape today.

So I need Denver to finally pull their heads out of their asses and remember how to play football, and for Tyreek Hill to buck his up and down trend and have two good weeks in a row.

I swear to jeebus, every team I play in the ESPN league is the highest scoring team that week. No wonder I'm going to be 2-6. But I'm 6-2 in my other 2 leagues.

I think my dream of going undefeated dies tonight. I need 38.5 points from Tyreke Hill and Kareem Hunt to pull this out which is possible but not very likely.
My wide receiver... just threw an interception.

So that's how my night is going.

I remember one season when I had Welker in my dynasty league, he had 2 tackles along with his offensive stats.

Speaking of, let's shake up the FFL blues with a poll:

In your long (or short) FFL history, what do you feel is your best ever waiver wire/FA pick up?

Mine was Wes Welker. I needed a late season bye week fill in, and saw that Welker (who then played for the Dolphins) was consistent, but not spectacular. So I picked him up on my Dynasty team, kept him through the end of the season, and then in the offseason he was traded to the Pats (and later the Broncos), and I went on to make the playoffs pretty much every season until I quit the league a couple of years ago.

This season so far has been Chris Thompson. I grabbed him in every league and he has been consistent, which is really what you need.

Mine this season has been Will Fuller. He and Watson have been absolutely ridiculous.

Sounds like tonight you experienced a good old fashioned Butkerking.

I don't know which stings worse. Getting trounced in fantasy or the abysmal state of the Broncos.

Man, why are people so terrified to trade in fantasy football?

Someone in my league just lost Deshaun Watson to an ACL injury. And instead of accepting a reasonable trade that left him ahead, he went to the waiver wire instead.

I'd say it's because nobody wants to feel like they ended up with the worst part of the trade and have to endure trade-related smacktalk on the text thread for your fantasy league. At least that's why I avoid them.

The obvious solution is to start talking smack about people who are too scared to trade with you, D.T.

IT'S YOUR FAULT

Goddammit I'm never playing the KC defense anymore. I've tried them 3 times and gotten a total of 2 FP combined.
I'm going to lose to the 1-7 guy this week. But our whole league is crumbling under injuries, suspensions and bad play. I might lose my bye week but I'll probably still make the playoffs.

Lol, my lowly 2-6 team beat SD's #1 ranked 6-2 team in the CHUD ESPN league. Finally a victory! We're turning it around!

YES! Front row!

I'm loving losing all these games by the number of points the guy I should have started scored from my bench...

New team name, logo and abbreviation.

I giggled for about an hour.

Wow... this thread has a glitch that says posts were made several days ago, and it's not updating in subscriptions.

Anyway, I blew the league out of the water this week and won 137-85. My opponent was the second highest scoring team, so... yeah. I beat everyone by 50 points.

Thanks to that Jarvis Landry garbage time TD just now, im going to 9-1 and I just beat the 2nd best team in my league on a week with five starters (Wentz, Ertz, Crabtree, Hill and Hunt) all on their bye.
My friend just benefited from that Landry touchdown, too. He was down 2 coming in, had Funchess on his bench which panicked him a bit and ended up finishing 2 points up.

He's 8-3 and just stopped a three way tie at 7-3. Now I'm 7-3 and in second place. I'm totally good with that.
My league was nuts tonight. We had a two point win thanks to the garbage time Jandry TD. We had a 0.8 win by a team with no kicker. We had a 0.4 point win between full rosters.

The league was lit. Watching our scoreboard was 207% more exciting than the Panthers/Dolphins.

Shit. I was up 18 when I went to bed at halftime, and apparently Cam Newton lost his mind the 2nd half and I lost by 10.

Massive come from behind for me. We're up into the 130s/140s and I'm up 3. If I had played Delanie instead of Cook at TE, I might be sitting pretty.

All that's left is his Dallas kicker. I'm probably dead, but what an exciting day. I'm hoping the Eagles somehow blank the Cowboys, but I've resigned myself to losing the best matchup in our league this week.
Oh shit, he actually has Philly's kicker. I'm dead. That's okay.
Good grief... Philly's kicker is out with a concussion. I just won at half time, 140-137.

I'm pretty sure I won on Aglahor's TD being overturned as well. Unless Matt Bryant gets like 20+ points tonight at the Seahawks.

Ooh... that could happen, man. There's no more "Legion of Boom" defense, and Matty Ice has Sanu and Julio with no shutdown corners on the field. With Freeman out, I think the passing game will be the focus, and you might be in some trouble. Pulling for you, though.

Alright, I made a deadline trade and picked up Travis Kelce. Sold high on the Chargers Defense and Sanu.

I'm all in on getting to the championship. Tom Brady, Mark Ingram, Melvin Gordon, Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, Travis Kelce, Orleans Darkwa*, Eagles Defense and Stephen Gostkowski.

Feels like a winning squad.

*May have to swap Darkwa out if he can't go.

That’s a steal of a trade. I have Sanu as well, but he’s only my WR4 (Hill, Crabtree, and Landry).
I’ll be rooting for KC to get back on track like you since AJ have Hill and Hunt. They really only have three guys who score TD’s so when they’re rolling it’s hard to have a bad week if you have two of the three.
Andy Reid is single handedly crushing the hopes and dreams of so many fantasy owners right now.

I am glad I didn't get sucked into playing KC's defense again last week vs. the Giants.

Fixing to be another tense matchup. I didn't think much of it until the other guy hit paydirt with both Marvin Jones and Hunter Henry.

Melvin Gordon had an average night (for him), but I read the signs and picked up Crowder and he went off. Closed the gap for the rest of my team to hopefully take over.

With Moore in for the Dolphins, I'm thinking that's more time on the field for the Patriots offense and Brady should clean up without much stress to that achilles.

Deary Fantasy Gods,

Please let the Pittsburgh D eat Brett Hundley and the Packers alive tonight.

Devotedly Yours,

Tom

I had Julio Jones in 2 leagues, and I'm winning the CHUD ESPN league easily, but in my $$ league I'm still 15-18 FP behind. I have Lamar Miller tonight and she has the Ravens D. So fingers crossed. And in the CHUD ESPN league, I actually left Marvin Jones on the bench. I'd have 200+ FP if I played him plus I got zero FP for Crabtree and his gold chain.

I set up my CHUD Yahoo league line up with my eyes closed, apparently. I left like 60 FP on the bench. Just terrible decisions on my part.

I had Delanie Walker, Jamaal Williams and Davante Adams on my bench. Instead of them, I played Travis Kelce, Orleans Darkwa and Tyreek Hill. That's an extra 40 points I missed and instead of losing by 20 last night, I would've won by 13. But really, none of those were bad calls. Kelce and Hill are every-week-starts, and Darkwa was the hot hand until McAdoo did a McAdoo-doo all over what was left still working for the Giants offense.

I'll still be one game up in the conference and I still have my bye. But next week and in the playoffs I'll have to be really careful and not rely on what looks like a sure thing on paper.

Ugh... I left Robbie Anderson on my bench.  Would've won.

On the edge in both of my money leagues.  I'm doing well in points for, but absolutely need a win in both next week to make the playoffs.  Every single team I've played this year has exceeded their weekly projections by a ton.

In my home league, I lost Aaron Rodgers in week 6 and was 2-4.

Since then, I am 6-0 with Josh McCown/Robbie Anderson and Alvin Kamara wrecking shit.

I don't understand fantasy football anymore.

Oh, damn. I just checked the scores, and even after last night I'm still up two games in the conference. So yesterday literally didn't do anything to change the standings in our league. I guess that's nice. Almost like a stressful bye week.

Ha ha. I've won 3 of 4 since I posted that. Gone from 2-6 to 5-7 after this week.
