2017-2018 NFL Fantasy Football season - Page 4

Regular season ended last night. I won my last match-up and finished the season 9-4. In an interesting turn, the guy in 1st place in the other conference lost, dropping him to 9-4 as well. I've got the edge on points for, so I'm the #1 team in the conference and now the league.

Top seeded team with a bye! And me and the #2 guy flipped spots in the playoff bracket so I don't have to knock out either of my cousins to get into the 'ship.

Top seed in the CHUD league, which comes with a first round bye. Just in time for Rob Gronkowski's one-game suspension. Ah, the charmed life.

Dude, I have Tom Brady. I'm so good with missing the Gronk suspension and a MNF divisional game.

So I have a question about one of the leagues I play in that I want opinions on.  I can't get ahold of the league commisioner for an answer.  It's an NFL.com league.

What's looking likely is that there will be a three way tie at 8-6 for the final two playoff spots.

The default tiebreaker is head to head record.  The next is overall points scored.

Team A has a 1-0 record against Team B, and an 0-1 record against Team C, and the third most points scored.

Team B has an 0-1 record against Team A, and a 1-1 record against Team C, and the most points scored.

Team C has a 1-0 record against Team A, a 1-1 record against Team B, and the second most points scored.

I'm Team B.  Looking at it, it should be a rock paper scissors situation and default to points scored.  In which case Team A is out.  BUT since the strength of my head to head over Team C is not record, but points, does my combined 1-2 record put me as the odd man out?  There are no divisions in the league, so that element of tiebreaking is moot.  Just wanna know what y'all think is gonna happen.

I think it defaults to points for vs points against. The two better teams of the three will move on.

Since the head to head matchups aren't equal, it should be most points scored. That way the best team actually gets in.

Finally make the playoffs in the keeper league, but lose a tiebreaker. My team really sucked this year with zero depth, and especially so this week, and it’s not like I really deserved the playoff spot anyways.

A little better than the year before though, so I’ll take the baby steps. One of these days I’m going to figure this keeper thing out and quit reaching so damn much.

Bye week is over and it's down to brass tacks. Do I trust whatever the fuck is happening with Brady to clear up in time for a big game against Pittsburgh, or do I scrounge up something on the waivers, hoping to break 10 points with a QB?

My team (11-2) blew up this week, but of course it was on the bye and I lost Wentz.  Ertz is my tight end so who knows what his value is going forward.  Thankfully, I've been carrying Goff the last few weeks as a backup and there's some viable replacements on the wire (Bortles, Foles, and Winston).

That Miami game was a trap game. If Joe Flacco can light up the Steelers, what do you think Brady is going to do when No. 1 seed is on the line?

That was you!

I thought I was done for, but Cooks caught a 38 yard pass in garbage time (his only catch of the night, of course) that brought us to a tie.

And the same for Roethlisberger. Do you think the Pats D is better than the Ravens? That will be a high scoring game.

I went to bed with double digit leads in all 3 leagues and woke up with 1 victory. Lost in the keeper league by 1, and thanks to the curse of Tom Brady in my $ league, I'm out of that as well. Everyone that has Brady on their team either just misses the playoffs or loses in the first round to a lower seeded team. This year it was my turn I guess. I just needed an average night too, nothing flashy. Oh well.

To be honest, I thought I was done for after Sunday night. Pretty surprised to see that tie when I woke up this morning. Good luck the rest of the way!
