It's amazing what your reputation gets you vs. actually looking at the team. FSU is favored...again...this week vs. Syracuse. They have been favored in every game except the Alabama game, I think. And yet they still continue to find new and exciting ways to lose. I doubt they will be favored next week though. Even Watson with a torn ACL would be able to lead Clemson to a right thrashing of FSU @ Death Valley next week. Luckily I have a wedding to attend in Maryland, so I will see probably zero of that bloodletting.

I knew ND wasn't "challenge Alabama in the playoff" type good.  I told myself a two loss season would be a-ok.  I knew all this talk about their offense was too much when it's so one-dimensional.  But damn, I still was not expecting that.

Well, yesterday was all that is good about college football. My mom and I were hoping all of the teams in the Top 4 for the playoffs would have lost. Lol. FSU did put a scare in Clemson for about 15 seconds, and then the FR QB threw an INT right to the Clemson defense. Oh well. I'll be at the game next week and then the rescheduled game 2 weeks after.

As much as I hate Miami, college football is better with a good Miami team to hate.

Also, Tennessee finally pulled the trigger on Butch. #HeGone

Supposedly Chip Kelly to UF is a done deal. Will be interested to see how his offense does against SEC defenses week after week.

The coaching carousel is underway. This is definitely my favorite rumor so far: Jeff Fisher to UCLA - https://twitter.com/GainesTweets/status/932626920902152192

The first comment: "You can't go 7-9 if there are only 12 games in a season."

Lol. Now that UCLA opened up, and Chip Kelly looked in that direction, UF apparently has moved on. And speaking of, UF plays FSU this weekend. Let's see if this game is a 6-3 final. On a lighter note, UM lost today to 4-7 Pitt, and last year about this same time, Pitt beat #2 Clemson. And Clemson survived to win the NC, so maybe this bodes well for Miami...?

That UCF-USF game was INSANE. Quentin Flowers outgained UCF all by himself. Too bad he can't play defense and special teams too.

Curious to see what two- or three-loss team jumps ahead of UCF in the playoff rankings this week.

Mississippi State will still be ahead of them, this time with four losses.

Gonna spend the next 4 hours with my pucker clenched tight enough to trigger a black hole. I'm gonna have to endure 37 flashbacks to that awful Kick Six.

Roll Tide.

Well, either it's still pinched shut or you've completely blown it out by now.

The sad part is, I can see many many scenarios where Alabama still gets into the playoff.

One of them being - the committee is just flat out dumb.

Oh I can totally see a scenario where Alabama only drops to 4 or something like that.

Dan Mullen to Florida is starting to be publicized widely now.

Which leaves Scott Frost to his alma mater at Nebraska.

And Tennessee ... looking at Greg Schiano. Really.

Yeah, SEC Network twitter account just announced Mullen is the new UF coach. TAMU fired Sumlin and the "insiders" still swear they are getting Jimbo Fisher...I don't know if I believe that, but who knows. They way he was fucking with the FSU writers after the Florida game, I could totally see him doing the Homer double-bird move from the Simpsons movie on his way out. Either way, I'm going to the "Bowl Eligibility" game next weekend.

And no offense to Bama, but if Wisconsin, Clemson, and OU all win out this weekend, there is no reason Alabama should be in the playoffs. The 4th team would be the SEC Champ, Auburn or UGA. If the committee holds out an undefeated P5 conference champ for a 1-loss team that didn't win their conference, then this whole process is as flawed as anything prior to it was.

Wow, and now Schiano is OUT at UT. Huge backlash from the "I didn't know"/or did he from being on the Penn State staff.

Hahaha GO VOLS!

Rich boosters are already clamoring for the AD they hired a month ago to be kicked out over this Schiano debacle. Amazing.

On the bright side, this whole thing gave us "Schiano Man" - https://www.barstoolsports.com/chicago/mmbm-sing-us-a-song-youre-the-schiano-man/?_branch_match_id=441582675521660747

Auburn #2 in the latest playoff rankings.  Unbelievable.

I think the majority of the rankings, hinge on Auburn. Why is Clemson #1 instead of Oklahoma? They beat Auburn. Why is Alabama ahead of Georgia? They lost by less to Auburn. LSU lost to Troy, but they beat Auburn, so they need to be middle of the pack.

Edit: Also, almost forgot, fuck Auburn.

Good God, Tennessee's athletic department is almost impressively incompetent. Now we're on the third straight shitshow coaching search!

I told my son, it may be historic as we might be watching Fisher coaching his last FSU game this weekend.

I'm confident we'll land our 7th option. Okay maybe our 10th.

It may be completely out of nowhere, but I am surprised they haven't approached Tee Martin yet.

So, FSU apparently has sent out feelers to Willie Taggart as a "just in case", which has in turn resulted in Oregon offering him an extended contract.

I'm not surprised, but I am disappointed.

Looks like Brohm is about to fall through. Hard to believe no competent coach wants to join this clown show. On the bright side, between the Vols and the Browns, my weekends in the fall are now free!

Brohm is 1st on my list if Jimbo leaves, but Taggart would be fine with me as well. He's done well in pretty much all the places he's been, limited resources or not.

Tennessee needs to look not to their future for their best caching hire, but to their past.

Lol, people are tracking planes in Tallahassee--someone found a flight that was leaving at 4:45 am this morning from Tally to College Station, and people showed up to try and see if it was Jimbo. And then the plane never showed up. Jeez, folks either he leaves or he doesn't.

He IS coaching tomorrow's game. Everything that's been posted is that TAMU will announce on Sunday that Fisher is their new coach. And losing 3 recruits Wednesday night b/c of the uncertainty has me aggravated, but what can I do. Someone alluded to, it's like you've given your two weeks notice at your job, so you aren't doing anything anymore.

Tennessee pulled the trigger ... on firing AD John Currie.

So no football coach and no guy who hires a football coach right now.

That report isn't true. Yet.

Wow, this just keeps getting better.

Industry source: “Throughout this entire (#Tennessee) coaching search Phil Fulmer has tried to undermine AD John Currie in hopes of becoming the AD there.”

Okay NOW it's official - https://tennessee.rivals.com/news/breaking-john-currie-out-as-tennessee-s-athletics-director

GO VAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWLS

EDIT: Currie apparently tried to hire Mike Leach and donors balked. Leach would have been awesome. My school is dumb.

Fulmer to be named AD at 4 p.m. presser.

... Peyton for HC?

A lot of Orlando media -- including the guy who calls UCF's games and hosts the coach's show -- sound like Scott Frost is gone. They're not coming out and saying it, but there's a lot of building up what he's done and how grateful UCF should be and how much fun this has been. There's an undercurrent of finality.

It'll be interesting to see if Taggart takes the FSU position. That could free up Oregon and ruin Nebraska's plan.

Yes, take Taggart and leave Pruitt be. I don't want Bama to have to look for another DC.

I honestly don't think Frost would be thinking of leaving for anything but Nebraska.  His ties there are too strong, and I get the feeling he never thought the job would be open so soon and that he'd be successful enough to be considered for it.

And Jimbo is officially going to Texas A&M.  Deondre Francois was none too please with how it went down.

Well, if nothing else, in back-to-back weeks UCF has put on two of the most entertaining games of the season.

So hey, maybe beating Alabama isn't as big a deal as it was made out to be.

Or, beating Auburn at Jordan Hare is very difficult. That place was built via voodoo.

Also, we broke their best player last week.

Clemson

Ohio State

Oklahoma

Georgia

puke

Why can I see them slotting Alabama in instead of Ohio State?

Cause that 31 point loss to Iowa is really, really bad.
