Is Playerunknown's Battlegrounds XBox exculsive (besides PC)?

Cuphead got money from MS to expand the game beyond it's initial E3 scope.

Playerunknowns is a timed exclusive on Xbox One, but will make it's way to PS4 at a later date (according to reddit folk).

No VR compatibility announcement for the Xbox One X was very surprising to me. Polygon is saying MS doesn't want it on Xbox until it's wireless. I'd actually had it on very good authority a while back that they were going to make it compatible with Vive, but that was before the big Windows Mixed Reality push of the past few months, so I figured they were just going to go with those headsets since they wouldn't have to license any tech from Valve.

Curious to see how much PSVR is part of Sony's presser this year. If they're doubling down on it, then that should be good for the market as a whole. If they take a step back, then I'm going to be a little worried.

The only thing out of all those trailers is that LIFE IS STRANGE prequel. That should be hella good!

RE: The Last Night

Turns out the lead designer/writer is a hardcore GamerGater MRA shithead, who in describing the plot of the game on twitter late last year said "I find it interesting to show the danger of extreme progressivism, in the background of the game, the characters, and the story"

His version of cyberpunk sounds like Ayn Rand snuff porn. What a creep.

Does anyone else think Anthem looks (from the teaser) super god damn generic?

I kept looking at the video link, didn't play it, but all I kept seeing was Destiny's three classes.

I read this post before getting around to watching the trailer. The sight of Paris burning in the opening shot is supposed to be some kind of warning about immigrants, I'm assuming? Fuck this game.

Anthem looks like a Sci-Fi Elder Scrolls Online with freedom of movement along the Z axis, and every word in the first clause of this sentence is baller. I did get a chuckle out of the noob in the "well-rounded" Ranger suit pulling aggro, when she should have let the Colossus tank pull and establish aggro before opening fire. He might have rounded the little murloc guys up, making her shotgun AOE attacks more effective. I'll probably play this.

You're speaking with all kinds of details I have no clue of, so clearly you know more than I do.

*runs to youtube*

Anthem looked like Destiny and Horizon: Zero Dawn and Titanfall all in a blender to me. None of it seemed particularly BioWare-y.

It gets even worse

Anthem looks like a prettier, 3rd person Destiny.
So, not my thing, at all.
I did roll my eyes at the sound of Jennifer Hale's voice as the point-of-view character in the opening dialogue. Surely, voice acting can't possibly be that small a community.

OK, so Anthem DOES looks cool.  Looks neater than Destiny or Divison or even Warframe or any game in that genre type.

BUT!  It's still obviously borrowing pretty heavily from shit that people are doing right now.  Dragon Age being Game of Thrones meets LOTR didn't bother me, because there wasn't 1000 games like that at that time.  Same with Mass Effect.  The obvious Trek/Star Wars influences didn't seem that bad.

Anthem looks like what I wanted The Old Republic to be. An action oriented Star Wars RPG.

So... Bethesda's new game is a card battle app.

...and the Switch re-release of Skyrim will include Amibo compatibility to get the Master Sword and champion's tunic.

New Metro game?

NEW METRO GAME?!!!!

-gets hype in Russian-

Anthem looks like it has the potential to be damn cool. I like the concept of suiting up in Mech Suits and going on raids with your mates. Hopefully it actually has a full on campaign you can do solo as well. As someone who would like to play Destiny but who Bungie seem determined to keep away by their fuckheaded business decisions having an alternative offered up by one of my favourite developers is certainly welcome.

Gawd, I wish Vampyr would get a release date already. Feels like I've been waiting forever for that damn game.

I'm definitely getting on Battlefront 2. Everything I've seen so far from it really gets my motor running.

Now, show me that new Wolfenstein game Bethesda.

Bethesda conference was just as expected; cool games, no surprises, but everything they showed is coming out 2017, so that's a plus for them.
Wolfenstein 2 looks crazy fun, so I'm satisfied.

More Dishonored 2 makes me extremely happy. Hopefully it'll be a one-shot full campaign instead of two half-campaigns like Knife of Dunwall/Brigmore Witches. Also hopefully get to choose between playing as Billy or Daud. And it looks like Billy's powers are entirely tech-driven, so the choice between Daud's Outsider powers and Billy's tech powers would be interesting.

Wolfenstein 2 looks fantastic. Here's hoping they can follow-up the last game, which I still think might be the best shooter this gen (with Bethesda stable-mate Doom being the other contender).

Did anyone else see the Wolfenstein trailer where a pregnant woman stabs a Nazi violently while a man drops acid in the foreground?  Just me?

And what the fuck is an Xbox One X?!  Better machine?

The alt-right is already very upset about Wolfenstein II, so that's a win.

Xboxonex doesn't have the same ring as Covfefe but it certainly does look boxy.

Reminds me of this

The Evil Within 2 could be neat, then I remember playing the first game and stopping halfway through for some reason.

That new Need For Speed looks like a whole lot of NFS Hot Pursuit mixed with just enough GTA.  It would be nice to play an old fashioned fun racing game like NFS HP again, and I hope this is the one.

It shows Nazis being buddy buddy with KKK members (in full white hood regalia).

If I get to shoot both kind of racist, facist a-holes, between this and Far Cry 5, 2017 is gonna be the year of cathartic escapism

Some pretty goddamn good-looking games in these trailers.

Project Scorpio.  4K machine to compete against the PS4 Pro.

So I like the idea of Anthem a lot more than that 5 minute teaser.  I like a cool Iron Man suit, I like the idea of exploring an (open) untamed wilderness and fighting stuff with said suit, I like having multiple suits and teammates, but that combat looked positively mediocre.  That is fine for story-driven Mass Effect, but it won't be fine competing with Destiny (which lives and dies on its fantastic gunplay).  I do like the exploration aspect though.  Guess there is plenty of time to polish it up.

I loved NFS Hot Pursuit.  They never quite nailed that balance with subsequent games.  I'll keep my eye on Payback.

And I recently beat Assassins Creed: Black Flag.  So I guess I'll plow through Origins in 2021 after watching a show on Starz about Egypt.

I wish I could get excited for Wolfenstein 2, since the world building and production design looks great. The gameplay contrivances in the first one were enough to ruin the game for me, though. The health system was terrible, combining "limited regen" with health packs, making it feel like the developer was dictating to me exactly how much health I should start every enemy encounter with. The stealth was inconsistent nonsense. Manually trading ammunition between single wielding and dual wielding was unintuitive, and took up way too much of my playtime. The leaning controls seem like they only would've worked well on a controller (Tooltip: You can't crouch there! You've gotta lean down!). All the HQ time filler missions were bad ("Go flip that switch in the sewers!"). The worst offender of all was the constant immersion breaking scripted event trigger gates every 20 feet.

Sorry for the rant, it's just aggravating when a game starts off well with so much potential, and then the little annoyances add up over the course of the playtime to make you want to quit. The sequel looks to have just as much on-rails stuff as the first, so I don't know if I could bear through it.

They really should have taken Jeff Gertsmann's advice and just called this new console "Xbox."

I was really jazzed about Anthem...until it revealed itself to be a Destiny-like multiplayer game--and then i was decidedly less jazzed. I feel like Anthem's gorgeous graphics woukd be better served for a single player game.

I feel like were gonnna have a lot to talk about The Last Night. Yeah, kind if shitty that the game is cloaked in gamergate nonsense...but maybe itll be still good.
For what its worth, Ska, Bioware has said you can play all of Anthem in single player. The truth of that remains to be seen, but that is what they claim.

Wow, I could not disagree with this more.

I've replayed the game a dozen times and I consider it one of the best FPS's of the decade. It allowed for multiple different play styles and gave you all the tools to pull it off. I thought the stealth mechanics were pretty damn fantastic and allowed for some great tactical moments. And with enough fresh twists (the concentration camp, the mech part, the underwater exploration) thrown in to stop it from getting old. Coupled with fantastic world building it and DOOM cemented id back on the top as the kings of the genre.

And everything in The New Colossus looks to be continuing with what I love about the game.

I did almost all of my Destiny playing single player, so there is probably some truth to it.  You just wouldn't be able to tackle some aspects of the game, like Raids.

I hope when they say it is all playable, they really mean all, and not just the grindy boring parts.
Well thats the thing: yeah, you could play Destiny by yourself (as i did when I was playing the fgame); I had fun, but you tell the gane was made to play with other people.

I just want an engaging single player experience.

Dragonball Fighters Z was the best thing shown over the weekend.

Not a Dragonball guy, myself, but Arcsys doing a balls out anime 3v3 fighter looks amazing.

I want both experiences, and I want them integrated.  I tend to like solo exploration, and the premise seems to really suit that concept.  But what Destiny introduced me to was high-end team based cooperative gaming, via their version of raids.  I'm still a Destiny adherent, but I expect I'll give Anthem a look and some time, especially if the exploration is key to the game and the combat is better than I've seen in their trailer/gameplay.

Agreed. Its the game ive wanted since they started making those Naruto fighting games.

I'm really only interested in Anthem if it still has a Bioware level narrative. I had problems with both Destiny and The Division, but I didn't really expect much in terms of narrative for either of those games. Narrative is why I play Bioware games, though, so if Anthem is similarly lacking in that department, I will be much less forgiving.
