X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX Pre-Release Thread - Page 2
Have they ever bothered to establish how these characters still look so young? I mean, it doesn't look like they've bothered to age Fassbender at all, and Magneto's only about a decade away from where we saw him as McKellen in the first X-MEN. Is it "canonical" that all mutants age slowly?
They have not. The problem can't be fixed. Just let it go, I guess.
Mystique's age gets explained away by her abilities in First Class. McAvoy and Fassbender were actually playing younger in First Class, so that worked in Days of Future Past.
But yeah, they're both around 40 playing characters that are now in their 50s in 1992. That can pretty much work, especially if this is the last movie for this iteration.
Nicholas Hoult is the real problem. He's 28 playing someone pushing 50. I sure hope he's actually a doctor in this one, as that was a weird failure-to-launch in Apocalypse.
Anyways, I'll watch this one. Lawrence seems reinvigorated, Wolverine may actually not show up for once, and the Disney buyout ensures this will have some sense of finality.
