The AV Club's move to Kinja

Thought this deserves its own thread.

The AV Club joins Io9, Deadspin, Kotaku on Kinja format today. The site is now even more a mess than before. You can't find any archived articles (For now. I am sure they'll fix that.) and the Comments Section not feels less friendly under this new system.

Which is a pity. The Av Club's not what it once was. But there were a few features (e.g A History of Violence) and weekly TV Series that i still followed. Not sure i'll visit the site as much from now on.

God what a pile of shit it's turned into. Despite the rise of clickbait and their growing dedication to hiring the planet's shittiest writers, I was still enjoying the AVClub for its comments and reviews. It's almost unreadable now. What genius decided that everything should be squeezed into the right side of the screen?

Yeah, I'm trying out Hollywood Reporter as my TV/etc news/reviews site for now. They seem to have similar tastes to me.

For proof on how far The AV Club has fallen, here it is.

Seriously, guys? Seriously?

So now you can't search the TV Club by the name of the show?  That's stupid.

Btw, I said before that the changes at AVClub pretty much made me tune it out for The Hollywood Reporter... well, lists like this help make that change an easy one:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/lists/power-rankings-summer-escapism-edition-1032853/item/1-1-people-earth-power-rankings-escapism-1032831

That list is chock full of gems I've been pushing HARD.

It all started going downhill for A.V. Club when Oderus Urungus died and could no longer appear in the annual "Undercover" videos.

Yeah, I was trying to do this last night, and eventually just had to google the show I was looking for and "AV Club". Insane.

TV Reviews --> Topics dropdown

It's still a shit redesign.

I've had a couple of links (both from my RSS feed and from Google) take me to a page like this:

Not sure if it's a case of an article sloppily getting pulled backstage (one of the links was a story about the Good Place gag reel video, which NBC had pulled, so why leave the story up) or of they're going to require you to register to view certain content.

Kinja is possibly the worst blogging platform in existence, and it baffles me why it wasn't jettisoned when the ex-Gawker empire was sold.

Sigh.  I miss the old format.
