You da man.

Also, #1 Kiss Boy's comments about Raul Julia in Street Fighter are the best reason for me to go Warlock (even though I'm not crazy about their armour selections)
You get used to the Warlock armors. With decent shaders, some look pretty great.

Though they certainly went out of their way to give Hunters the coolest looking armor sets.
You're probably right. Warlock was the class I had the most fun with in the Beta. Although I didn't give the Hunter a fair shake. If only I had more time with it dammit!

And yeah, Hunters definitely have the best armour with Titans a close second.

You know who else had cool looking clothes?

Another dang noob question (sorry guys!):

1) I remember strikes (?) kinda from D1 - where are those this time around?

2) ...and patrols?

3) ...and raids?

I know I did these in D1 but it's been a few years and I got in late to the game and didn't play it much.

I'm also taking my time with this one so currently I'm bouncing around 3 characters who are all around level 15 and just at the Nessus mission/story line.

Great great game but I really wish Bungie would put out a comprehensive video tutorial about all the stuff to do and how!

Thanks for the help, you guys are a lot nicer than the Reddit dudes (mostly!) :D

Patrols seem to be largely removed. Which I'm totally fine with: they were a slog, and the maps weren't really conducive to supporting them, in my opinion.

Everything is more story-driven. There are a handful of side quests (adventures) each time you advance to another part of each world in the story, and that suits me just fine. And they can be replayed, if you want. If I feel like grinding, then the public events are fun enough that I've probably taken down more than a dozen (or two) walkers already.

Strikes are not filtered throughout the story this time for a narrative reason. Story and plot ahead, PC folks stay out!

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Since you are essentially the Chosen and ONLY guardian to get your Light back in the story I have made the assumption that Strikes were not peppered throughout the Campaign because having three Light/Powered Guardians running around beating bosses would have been incongruent with the narrative.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
They will show up on your Director eventually when you beat the campaign.

Patrols

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
come later when you get a quest to help reinstate them from an NPC.

Raids

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
too will show up on your Director/Milestones once you complete the Campaign I assume.

Ejoiner, are you Xbox or PS4? Either one has members here in a Clan.  If you are in need of help let us know and we'll be happy to send you Clan invites and/or play with you regardless to help you advance.

Thanks for the help! Sounds like I'm just taking it a lot slower than than the professionals around here.

My gamer tag (on XBOX) is F4NGZ666 and I'm happy to join a clan but I'm waaaay behind on the story mode still and (generally) have fun on these games but suck at hitting things (besides really really large walls/the ground).

wait so is there a clan for Chud?  Is not appearing on the main page

The current clan for CHUD is on the PS4, but there are a couple of XBOX players.  I would recommend they get together and make a clan.  There are some extra rewards (over time), and it makes the game more fun to have some teammates.

I want to be in the XBox clan, for sure. Deets327 is my gamertag.

I guess I'll be the one to make it.

Does it cost any sort of in-game resources to create a clan? If so, I'll pay clan dues.

I don't think it does.

Time. Lots of time.

Nah, nothing like shards or silver or anything.  Joining and playing help all members.  Wish they would have left the clans across system so we could have one giant but I get it as they did limit them to 100 members.

meh. The website is giving me shit.

SOMEONE ELSE DO IT

I will do the thing! Or try to.

Everyone's good with "D.T.'s Awesome Clan" as the name, yeah?

Nah, the site is having issues. I can't create one, either. Awesome work, Bungie.

Edit: Looks like it worked! We're now the Sewer Chewers, and our motto is "Get to Fuck". It's set to approval only, so request invites boyos.

I ended up deactivating the first clan attempt when I didn't get any join requests after a few days. Joined up with some Neogaf randos. They are all gross weirdos, though. I'll ditch them and join up with this new one if that's cool.

Did they allow your four letters to be CHUD? Or is it DTAC? Heh...

Yeah, the abbreviation is "CHUD".

I also rigged a banner that kind... sorta... looks like it could be a manhole cover and a tentacle. So, right now the server is being fucky and it's stuck on invite only. Just give me your gamertags for now and I'll add you. Then I'll switch to approval only and add everyone as admins or whatever so we can approve whoever joins up here.

It says 'invite only', I think you have to manually send out requests that way. I'm Tuskedbubbles13
post #124 of 1007

I'm Ska Oreo.

duh.

I'm F4NGZ666

I have successfully invited you both three to the clan.

Post a pic of that if you could? I was talking to Worky about ours and the one sun looking logo was the closest I thought but we are rocking the two swords because nothing really screams CHUD on their options.

You bet!

That's pretty dope. Good job D.T.

The one on the left. Looks like a lizard eye, which is dope. And will resolve better at distance.

My problem with that one is, as DT mentions, the one on the right looks more like a manhole cover. I had looked through the options to find something CHUD/tentacly/etc but none really work except what he picked and the one I showed there.

Like, I'd be cool if there was a way to turn just the laurels yellow but it's either the circle and laurels or the swords. Although the swords work well with the "Chewers Never Say Perish" motto.

Personally, I like the one on the right - but either is fine

WOW, thanks! I'm going to immediately prove my value to the clan - what exactly do you do on a clan? (Yep, never been in one before....)

You give the guy who started it $50, then recruit new people. They give you $75, you keep $25 and you give $50 to me. We keep doing this until we win Destiny 2!

I nominate myself clan treasurer. We can just put the bank account in my name to make things easier.

Sirius answer: When you do activities you see popups like +500 Clan XP. 5000 a week is the suggested amount. There are Milestone things you can do while in a fireteam with clannies to get Milestones/Powerful gear.

I still need to do the Nightfall so it would be sick if we could coordinate that.

What's the trick to the Crucible, other than practice practice practice? I played 2 matches each with all three character types around level 15 and damn. Spawn, run a few feet, die. Wash, rinse, repeat. That was not fun.

The Crucible from what I played in the beta is supremely lame.  The same company who made the awesome Halo 4 multiplayer with big maps and lots of folks and vehicles should not shit out such a lame forced severely stripped down multiplayer mode.  It should be even BETTER than Halo!  It should be hundreds of people on a map like Battlefield, with all kinds of crazy guns and map features and fun shit!  I guess Bungie only has so much time to focus on things, but it feels like "the next gen Bungie MMOesque RPG loot shooter" should have an extremely cool PvP to go along with the co op.

Tzu - My vote goes for the one on the right.

But lizard eye!

Okay, I am convinced. I'm gonna cop this next Friday.

Did you PS4 guys play the raid? How was it?

285 and counting over here. Finished all the quests except Rat King, so it's gonna be mostly milestones and some Crucible for fun.

Play Of The Game is still my GOAT power weapon. Fusion rifles are really fun in PvE, but when power candy is such a pain in the butt to get in Crucible, I need that instant point and shoot reliability, no futzing around.

Situational positioning is the most important thing. Try not to put yourself in a position where you're gonna get shot. Usually close to your teammates, if at all possible.

Five hours Friday, five hours Saturday. Only halfway through. Finishing tonight hopefully.

Mechanics of the second part are a brutal bitch. First is easy-peasey once you understand. Third is proving tricky on timing.

It's quite teamwork heavy. We unfortunately did not get to a damage phase on the boss tonight. Gonna give it a shot for the reset.

Milestones question: I keep seeing advice that you should save them for leveling once you hit the soft cap of 265. But don't they reset every week? And if so, why save them? Maybe (probably) I'm missing something here...?

Hopefully Dave will step in here and explain but I believe it has something to do more with staggering them than saving. Do one, hit some other stuff and level a bit. Do another, hit some stuff and level a bit. And so on.

I may be completely wrong about this though.

There are some milestones that are one shot deals, I believe. Not every milestone resets every week. I know I was surprised by that after the first reset.
