Ok, will do thast as soon as I start playing.
Destiny 2 - Page 5
I actually want to start over and play through it again, right away. I never do that!
Or your PS4!
I finished up the main story campaign last night and was very satisfied. It's also nice to know that I still have plenty to do, and considering how much I played the first game just going on patrols to shoot stuff without REALLY worrying about loot, I'm sure Destiny 2 can keep me happy for a long time.
Now I'm just trtying to join a faction, but I coudn't seem to figure it out last night... granted it was late when I finished. I'm going to go Dead Orbit. It said I have to talk to all 3 and I thought I did. Oh well. I'll try again the next time I play.
Considering I've never played either game as anyone but my trusty hunter I'm tempted to finally go back and try a new character as well. Probably a warlock. The bulky brute titans are not as aesthetically pleasing to me. Ha!
Destiny 2 is a good game. To put it mildly.
We hit the 100000 weekly Clan cap Tuesday night. Where you been?
A Powerful Engram, not a Clangram.
I take a break for a week, and this is what happens. Lol
Yeah man, its some heavyweighted bullshit.
I grinded out this unavoidable story mode, with the full expectation of signing up for FWC the minute I clear it.
I guess not!
But I was absolutely blown away by the transition
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
That's the best shit I've ever seen in a video game. This is the absolute peak. Its fucking nuts, they said "complain about the story then, now its mandatory." And the story is a fucking hassle, but as soon as you clear it, the real game kicks in and blows your fucking mind. It blew mine at least.
Swell showed me around, and I was knocked sideways by the scope of it all, the attention to detail, the artistic ambition underlying the geography. I stepped out onto a gangway to talk with Zavala; every Timothy Zahn paperback pulp takes a small measure of credit for what transpires. Sci-fi is elevated and accelerated by what Bungie does in this game.
We hit up two Strikes. The laser-platforming is concise, without peer. The best platforming since the boss run in Mega Man 2.
Destiny 2 is an aggressively okay single-player campaign, and it insists on itself.
It is followed by the craziest fucking video game I have ever played. The Cabal Baddie honestly aint shit. Atheon, Crota, the House of Wolves: I fought them, and they were all way more impressive than Space Marine 40kray.
why didn't they let him actually consume the Light, and become a corrupted Guardian, instead of just trying to hijack it?
Irrela! The point has been made.
I would compare it to the Nexus of Time in Chrono Trigger. That was always the dopest fictional setting in a video game.
The space that opens up after you finish the main quest in D2 is on that level. It is really something.

JOHN CARPENTER PLAYS DESTINY:
Hi John. What have you been up to?
I’ve been playing the video game Destiny 2. It’s a sci-fi game. It’s fun.
I’ve heard of that. Isn’t it really hard and involves shooting aliens?
Oh, it is hard. That’s why I’ve dedicated my life to learning how to play it. At my age why not? It keeps me out of trouble.
But which platform?! You could have been playing with him!
I was half-way through a frantic search of the main Destiny forum after reading Jacob's post, to discover why my Install button was still greyed out, when I received a Blizzard launcher update request and - voila - all is well.
Don't worry, Jacob. You can't suck more than me. I think poor ol' Codey had to revive me about fifteen times when we played together during the Beta. :) Oh, I need to add you and Dalyn (and anyone else playing on the PC) to my Friend's List. My Blizzard ID is MrSaxon (or maybe MrSaxon#2283 as I'm not sure if the numbers are needed).
I've got about 8Gbs left to go as I paused it earlier to play some online games. Still, next time I move, I'm definitely making sure that I move somewhere with fibre-optic broadband. It would be done in less than an hour if I had those here.
Mayhaps it was meant to be that you would join us. Some form of predetermination called...shit, I forget the word.
I've seen a few people who were in the Beta say that it auto-downloaded onto their computers despite them not pre-ordering it. Seems like a not so sneaky way for Activision to tempt people into buying it. "Well, I've got it now so I may as well........"
That Nightfall was so fucking crunk.
I will say this to our PC brothers:
(I don't think this counts as a spoiler, its just my opinion)
The actual Destiny game is waaaay better than the story missions. Just in case you start feeling let down while running the main campaign. The difference in quality is extremely significant, at least in my estimation.
By the by, I was wondering why I couldn't find these friend requests. Turns out its region specific so make sure you're connected to the Americas to accept.
You'll be picking it up at some point... right? Do I have to Strangers On A Train your mother-in-law so that you can reclaim your gaming room (and, in return, you can Strangers On A Train my idiot of a boss)?
* Thinks back to Jacob's birthday dungeon run in ESO and the empty chair at the tavern afterward, with the table placeholder in front of it marked "Freeman" *
Freeman, why must you always disappoint me?!
Ha! My mother in law actually left a while back. I have my gaming room back. It's really just a matter of time and money. Last year my baby used to sleep all the time, leaving me a lot of gaming time. Now she's always up, so I'm spending more time being a parent (which really just means wrangling a toddler and keeping her from breaking everything). And during football season, my wife likes to hang out all Sunday watching football.
