So stoked I got the Exodus Down armour I wanted.

Hey, I look good in my refugee armor with guns that were apparently put together in caves!

With a box of scraps?

Yes. I am a dowdier-looking, more lethal Iron Man.

Really glad I went with the Titan Sentinel as my first Destiny character. There's something insanely fun about running around like Captain America and then using my shield to send minions flying to their deaths.

The good thing is you get enough skill points that you can really run any of the sub-classes when it strikes your fancy.

I tried the Stormcaller out after getting it and OMG floating around going all Palpatine on motherfuckers is just a blast. So make sure to use your 3 character slots for each class cause there really is no reason to run multiples of one class.

But Voidwalker is my jam. I am insanely tough to kill between my AOE heal effect, my melee attack that recharges health, and the ability to eat my grenade to fill up my health bar. OMNONONOMNOMNOM. And throwing a murder ball into mobs of gleep glorps is just SO SATISFYING.

Generally a true statement - with a caveat. Once you finish the game, there are various 'weekly rituals' including a Nightfall Strike, some PvP shenannagans, and of course the raid that you are able to do (surprisingly) once per week, per character. If you are looking to complete your armor sets (say the raid armor) for a Warlock as quickly as possible, you might want to consider running multiple Warlocks (at least initially) until you get the full set / full suite of exotics / etc. and then creating a different class. Of course with expansions, come (presumably) new raids and new class specific gear to chase - so it becomes a balancing act of how far you want to go with it.

Again, I would basically agree that there are three character slots and three class choices and most will want to run one of each - but just to throw it out there as those new-ish to the Destiny grind might want to play around with those choices. And yes, by the time everything is said and done, you'll have plenty of skill points to max out each subclass - no worries there.

I would argue the enjoyment of playing the three characters with their three subclasses may outweigh slightly quicker accumulation of the gear for each.  None of the gear is instrumental, nor is the speed at which you level up your last 10%.  By all means, play three Warlocks if you totally love the Warlock...you will get some sweetness quicker and you will (probably) level up in two weeks vice four.

But each of the classes play a BIT differently (not the gunplay, all of the other stuff), so that may be worth exploring at some point in your gameplay.  I'd recommend saving a spot or two to have a fresh experience in a few weeks.  I saved my Warlock until this past weekend, and quite enjoyed experiencing the same content a little differently.  Besides, leveling up your alts is quite fast, thanks to high level weapons pulling up the armor and letting you progress faster.

One note on that, on Friday, the exotic weapon and armor guy (Xur) will show up.  Buy EVERY exotic you don't have, even if it is for classes you haven't started yet.  Just stick it into the Vault until you start that character.  You can even use it to infuse a Legendary armor later for leveling up, since that Exotic will be in your kiosk for procurement later.

You PC folks need to do us all a favor and go ahead and decide when you're going to tackle the Raid together and pick one person to stream it. I want to watch that happen.

Dave gives great advice about completing a set but I side more with dienekes that the different sub-classes of the individual classes make for longer enjoyment and you can pick what kind of super you're in the mood to grind with. Also, if you get a solid Raid group going then being able to balance the team is always nice.

I see Dalyn is already on the third planet. Time to start catching up with everyone.

Just hit level 17. Having fun. I just wish the environment was more interactive and there were new bad guys.
Alright. Hit 20.
You got the game after all, Dalyn? Nice! I'm just glad I won't be the lowest levelled poster in this thread because that would -

that was my favorite emote in D1. I wish it had come forward.

Of course we did get Confused Travolta in D2, so there is that.

I'm quite partial to the Buddy Christ emote myself.

Finished the campaign today. Really, really dug the hell out of it. Especially the final few missions. Spent the rest of the day just doing quests and adventures in the EDZ and getting my MIDA MULTI-TOOL MOTHERFUCKERS! A great weapon that.

When you guys are ready to hit up some Strikes or the Crucible let me know. I'll be doing Challenges and Patrols and maybe rolling a second hand character in the mean time.

Also, how do you join factions exactly? That swanky Future War Cult room makes me intrigued by their ideas and I would like to subscribe to their newsletter.

You have to wait until the next Faction week. Should be soon.

Just level 11 here, getting sidetracked by too many games. D2 is a lot more fun than I thought it'd be, though, and I'm even enjoying the story. When the roommate gets home Monday I'll be trying out a Warlock to go with his Titan. Curious as to how the campaign missions play with a buddy.

Tzu just wants to shame us all.

Almost level 8 now, so I'm getting there slowly. This is probably the first time I've actually really liked a sniper rifle in a first person shooter, especially with regards to how well it fits in with the Titan's ability to make a shield that he can peek over and take shots.

Fell to my death four times in a row today. God, I hate platform puzzles in first person games.

When do Strikes open up? Is it after the campaign?

Pro-tip. If you want this exotic Scout Rifle, make sure you save up 5 rare or legendary (blue or purple) Scout Rifles and shove them in the vault for the quest to get it.

Ummm, I have some bad news for you...

Yes. I believe I mentioned a narrative issue in one of my "reviews" that relegated Strikes to a post Campaign location vs. throughout the story as they were in D1. I am assuming this isn't spoilery but will hide it regardless:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
In the narrative for D2 you are the only guardian who has regained their Light. Strikes are a three Guardian affair therefore having three Guardians with Light running around prior to the story ending would have broken the narrative.

Mostly I just want to learn how to game on a PC. But keyboards for movement and graphics settings confound me.

Do all the sniper rifles get kidnapped by aliens at the end of the campaign?

I've almost never used Sniper Rifles so far. Because Swords are the shiiiiiit.

I've not found a sword yet but I can't see how they could be better than blowing the heads off alien goons from miles away.  So much fun!

Swords will save your life in crowd control. Just you wait for Nightfalls and the raid, sir.

I wish the game had been a little more clear that I needed to go back to the EDZ to unlock my second sub-skillset, and was just a little more clear about everything pre-20th level.

It really annoys me that one of the guardians in the main artwork on Bungie's site has a moustache when I was forced to make my character clean-shaven. I really wanted a moustache!

Just unlocked my third sub skill. Currently on Io. Finished the story quest there. Going to do the Adventures then head to the final story mission (I think). I have my Sparrow, so now I'm happy. Did a few Crucible matches for the awards and wasn't as horrible as I thought I would be. I loved the music on the Vex planet. Totally sounded like it was done by John Carpenter. Need to start figuring out what to do with all the weapon and armor mods. Have my FOV set at 100 and graphics set at Max. Running a steady 60 for the whole way. Not that it really means anything to me. I really need to get a gaming monitor. Currently running on a 32 inch 720p TV. Ugh.

There's a lot I'd change about the character creation. They're pretty much just asking us to play with headgear on all the time.

I really don’t like how there’s no voice chat. I don’t need it all the time, but it would be helpful if you could chat with your team during a strike or raid.

I could have sworn I saw a "Push To Talk" button setting somewhere. Maybe some other game I've been playin...

Console has Fireteam chat which everyone begged for in D1 and no one used/uses ever since we got it. We always use Party chat on the PS4. There should be a setting, I believe I saw it on Twitch. It's definitely manually opt in though.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there must be voice chat. Every time I make the smallest noise whilst playing, a microphone symbol appears on the screen.

Kinda wishing I'd gone for the season pass, in retrospect. There's almost no way I'm not getting the first DLC expansion when it supposedly releases in December.

Yeah, I sprang for that cause I knew it was going to be a done deal. Not regretting that purchase in the slightest.

Also, Metro Shift shader is life.

What's that you say? You didn't buy the DLC?  Might wanna rectify that....

Oh shiiiiiiiiit!

I need that armour Osiris has on. As I've been reading the lore on the Wiki he's been the one character I've been most fascinated by so I'm looking forward to this.

Picked up the expansion pass from Green Man Gaming, seeing as it was 10% off. Obviously would have been cheaper if I'd bought it with the base game, but you live and you learn.

I encountered my favorite mission so far on Titan yesterday.  I forget the name but it's the one where

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
you have to descend deeper and deeper into the depths of the Arcology Sector and then into the dark, creepy passages of the Hive's lair, before escaping in a vehicle (running over a ton af Hive as you go).

Really cool atmosphere. Reminded me of something out of Aliens

I said that exact thing to Scott as I was playing that level.

Did Ridley Scott turn around and say "Jacob.... I directed the first one"?

Oh yeah, I remember thinking the same thing going through those tunnels.

And WTF?  Already having to pay for more DLC in a couple of months?  I just paid full price like three days ago!!!
